Speed Villian: Fugitive from the stars

Chapter 40: The whisper before the storm

Three months passed in the blink of an eye. The world had fallen into a fever of anticipation and chaos.

The name Land of Generations was no longer a secret of the high realms — it had become the heartbeat of every conversation across the continents.

From mighty sects to ancient families, from street wanderers to schools filled with young elementals, everyone spoke of it with awe and fear.

The topic burned brighter than the sun.

Students no longer cared about their upcoming term; the government's focus shifted entirely to the sudden surge of elemental activity.

The resonance caused by the Land of Generations had even extended the holidays. Rumors claimed it was a test from the ancient beings; others whispered it was a dimensional battlefield that only the worthy could survive.

In the midst of this global uproar — within a pocket of chaos where no mortal eye could reach — a certain girl was breaking through her limits.

---

Chaos World: The Venom Fire Plains

A green world filled with writhing energy stretched endlessly.

The air shimmered, and the sky was painted with streaks of emerald and violet.

In the midst of a mountain-sized crater, a girl sat cross-legged, her long green hair fluttering wildly. Each strand danced with power, her presence commanding both beauty and danger.

Dark green energy swirled around her in rings, rising and collapsing rhythmically like waves in an ocean storm. Venom flames — her signature energy — licked the ground beneath her, leaving trails of glowing marks that didn't burn but purified. The entire plain trembled under her cultivation pressure.

Around her, energy beings — manifestations of elemental essence — bowed silently as they cultivated in harmony with her rhythm. Some had already formed humanoid shapes, while others still flickered like sentient fire.

Suddenly, Samantha's eyes snapped open.

They gleamed with a vibrant green light — deep, alive, and dangerous.

She raised her right hand, and energy particles gathered above her palm.

Within seconds, an energy being formed — small, delicate, resembling a child-like doll. But it was lifeless, like a statue. The veins of energy running through it were dim, failing to ignite the spark of existence.

"Your control is getting better and better," Kael's voice echoed nearby as he emerged from a burst of lightning. His figure was calm, composed, but his eyes carried the vastness of someone who had seen galaxies crumble. "You're still at level twenty, but your comprehension speed is remarkable. Now," he said, walking closer, "you need to balance your energies. Go to the nearest earth energy cluster and cultivate there. Comprehend the structure of the earth essence."

He paused, a faint smile curling his lips. "The current holiday will last a year in the outside world. You have time."

Samantha nodded, standing gracefully. "I understand."

Kael raised his hand, and a small glowing orb appeared, pulsing with dense Qi that bent the space around it. "This is a Concentrated Qi Orb. Absorb it slowly — not all at once — or it will crush your meridians. If used properly, it should push you to the Elite Realm."

He then produced a small metallic key glowing faintly in gold. The aura it released made even the nearby energy beings tremble and kneel.

"This," Kael continued, "is the key to one of my private realms. It has a time disparity of one to one hundred. You can use it to practice runes, techniques, and combat skills. You'll find scrolls, crystals, and training puppets there."

He turned his back slightly, his tone growing quieter. "It's time. I can't delay. I have a place I must go."

Samantha's green eyes softened. "You're leaving again?"

Kael smiled faintly, walking toward her. "Yes… and no."

Before she could reply, he leaned forward and kissed her lightly on the forehead. His energy hummed softly against hers — lightning brushing against venom fire. "You'll feel me near, even when I'm gone."

Then his form dissolved into a streak of yellow light and vanished.

Samantha stood still for a long time, her expression unreadable.

The venom flames around her slowly settled, flickering with sorrow and determination.

She clenched her fist around the orb. "Then I'll grow strong enough to stand beside you."

Earth – Red City

In a quiet home filled with books and faint lightning traces, Maya sat cross-legged, frowning.

"So, you're leaving?" she asked, arms crossed, her tone half-angry, half-concerned.

Kael was zipping his small bag, an amused smirk on his face. "Yo, don't talk like I'm not coming back. I'll just be… gone for a while."

Maya's gaze softened for a moment before hardening again. "You always say that."

Kael's eyes flickered. Suddenly, his voice rang directly in her mind — a telepathic transmission.

> "Be careful of your brother, Elijah. I can't sense his full strength, but something tells me… he's far stronger than me. Don't let your guard down."

Maya froze, her pupils shrinking. She looked around the room, her breathing shallow. The air felt heavier.

> "Your physique limits your cultivation," Kael's voice continued softly, "but it also hides a secret. Protect yourself. Be cautious."

As the message faded, Maya sighed deeply, her expression a mix of confusion and resolve. "Always dropping cryptic words before leaving… typical Kael."

"Anyway," Kael said aloud, stretching his arms. "I'm off."

Yellow lightning surged beneath his feet, and in a flash, he was gone — leaving behind only a faint scent of ozone and burnt air.

---

Far away, in a place no ordinary man could approach — a colossal volcano stood breathing fire like a living beast. Its crater glowed like molten gold, and the ground around it was layered with hardened lava and crystalline rock.

Inside, figures moved amidst the blazing heat.

These were not ordinary humans.

Their skins shimmered faintly with the essence of flame, and their eyes burned with a reddish glow. They were members of the Inferno Lineage — one of the powerful elemental families.

The temperature was unbearable, yet none of them seemed bothered.

A group of fiery men knelt before a massive silhouette sitting at the center — a giant of a man with a chest as broad as a mountain and flames constantly burning along his arms. His hair was molten red, flowing like lava, and every breath he took sent waves of heat throughout the chamber.

"So," his deep voice rumbled, shaking the entire volcano, "you're telling me you couldn't find the green-haired girl or the yellow lightning brat?"

The men trembled. "Forgive us, Great Lord! The girl disappeared after the resonance, and the boy… rumors say he's preparing for the upcoming selection."

The man's eyes narrowed, glowing dangerously. "The Land again… tch. That place will either forge them or destroy them."

He stood slowly, towering over the others like a living inferno. "No matter. I've already sent my finest to that cursed realm. If the boy enters, he won't come out. And as for the girl…" his tone deepened, "keep searching."

He turned toward the lava pool and extended his palm. In response, a massive fiery map projected into the air — lines of runes moving, shifting, rearranging like living code.

The man's eyes glowed brighter as he studied it. "The convergence paths are shifting again. Good… it's almost time."

The flames around him flared violently, and the volcano roared like a dragon awakened.

Outside, the sky darkened — the world trembled, unaware that every realm was about to collide again.

---

In the unseen layers of existence, threads of destiny began to intertwine — Samantha in her chaotic realm, Kael blazing his path through lightning and speed, Maya watching the horizon in silence, and hidden powerhouses preparing for a war that none of them fully understood.

The Land of Generations was not just an opportunity.

It was a storm waiting to break.

And as the first lightning cracked across the realms — the whisper before the storm began.
