Chapter 731: News of the Outside World

When the word "subordinate" left Renette's mouth, there were clear signs of confusion around Martial Legends.

They were able to sense the level of Kiernan's energy, and he was only Martial King.

However, as it seemed, he seemed to be the mastermind of this escape, and it wasn't just some minor one either.

There had been many attempts at prison breaks during the many years they've been here, but none as serious as this.

With the Immortal Renette out of her prison, this was the biggest nightmare that the Downed Prison had ever encountered.

And it was all because of this one man.

"I suppose you opened these cages? What are you after?"

The dark-eyed man asked.

"I need an army to break through the upper floors."

Kiernan said.

"I don't think we will be much of an army with these collars around our necks. Unless you, of course, have a way to remove them, as I see that the two of you don't have any around your necks."

The dark-eyed man said with a knowing smile.

Kiernan pulled out a key from his pocket and twirled it around his finger.

Martial Legends licked their lips as if they were suddenly parched at the sight of the key.

That key was the way for them to get back their strength.

While the imprisonment itself was hard on them, the feeling of losing their strength was the worst.

They had spent all their life—day after day of endless training—to acquire their strength only to lose it.

It made many men and women break down in tears.

"I don't see any Martial Emperors with you. They refused to join you? I would doubt that, as I am sure they would rather die than stay trapped even one second longer."

The dark-eyed man asked.

"They are drugged out of their mind. We cannot rely on them."

Kiernan said.

"…Alright. We will follow you if you get rid of these collars from around our necks."

The dark-eyed man said.

"What is your name?"

Kiernan asked.

"…Rochan. I am just called Rochan."

He said with a cold smile.

"Don't know of you. Is that your real name?"

Kiernan asked with a suspicious look.

He had done his fair share of investigation about every known inmate of the Downed Prison.

And when he looked around the room, he recognized a couple of people, but Rochan was a complete mystery.

"I am not a big shot. I got caught stealing a car. I had a stolen car business over at my hometown. I stole cars and sold them overseas.

"A fairly lucrative business."

Rochan said with a laugh.

"…Martial Legend caught stealing a car, and they managed to arrest you? That is pretty hard to believe."

Kiernan said.

"I am somewhat of a daredevil. I ran away with the car, speeding down the road with wind blowing through my hair, and about two dozen Police Force cars chasing me down.

"A turn came. The road was a little slippery because of last night's rain, and I lost control completely.

"I smashed through the railing and dropped about a few hundred meters down a cliff. The car got smashed into pieces.

"I survived. Thank god for my Martial Legend physique, but I hit my head, and I was out cold. I woke up in a navy battleship, stared down at by a Navy Vice Admiral."

Rochan grinned.

He said all that, but it still looked like he was the King of the Ninth Floor, as every other Martial Legend was following his lead.

"How much is your time? I can't imagine it being too long."

Kiernan asked.

"Twelve years. I have been here four years."

Rochan said with a smile.

"It is not as bad as others. Immortal Renette over here has been here for eight hundred years. Why don't you serve that time and start brand new?"

Kiernan asked.

"I am impatient as fuck… Eight years. Hell nah. I'd rather move to the Dark Countries or Pirate Kingdom, where I don't get extradited."

Rochan said with a laugh.

Kiernan looked at him, shrugged his shoulders, and then unlocked his collar, letting it drop to the ground.

"Ahh…"

Rochan closed his eyes with a satisfied smile, put his hands together, and thanked him with a bow.

"Me next!"

"No, me!"

Martial Legends rushed at him, and Kiernan quickly removed all of their collars, letting them drop to the ground one by one.

"What now, general?"

Rochan asked with a smile.

"General?"

Kiernan raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah. An army needs to have a general, yes? You are the mastermind behind the Great Prison Escape, so who else could be the general?"

Rochan said with a chuckle.

"The plan is following. We will recruit Martial Kings, Martial Grandmasters, and Martial Masters."

Kiernan said.

"What about others?"

Another Martial Legend asked.

"The upper floors will soon be in complete control of the prison guards. I say we let them. Their numbers will slightly drop when they are busy fighting Martial Champions, and rest.

"Meanwhile, we will gather the strongest inmates and start thinking of a plan to ascend the floors."

Kiernan said.

"What if they attack Martial Masters' floor before we get there?"

Rochan asked.

Kiernan quickly checked the cameras and saw that there was a riot happening over on the fourth floor currently.

The prison guards were quickly incapacitating the inmates, as the fourth floor only had Martial Fighters.

"They are on the fourth floor."

"You have access to cameras?"

Rochan said in surprise.

"And also access to the elevators. I've shut off elevators to the sixth floor, so they will momentarily stop at the fifth floor.

"They will surely have another way to bypass the elevators, but it will give us valuable time to gather our army."

Kiernan said.

"The navy will be coming with all their Navy Admirals and the Fleet Admiral Xerxus, who is also Immortal, if you hadn't noticed."

Rochan said.

"Well, lucky for us, Xerxus is no longer Fleet Admiral. He retired. The new Fleet Admiral is Ethan Blackforest, and he is just Martial Emperor."

Kiernan said.

"Navy doesn't have Immortal anymore? The navy just lost a massive powerhouse, then, and they are not as strong as they once were then."

Rochan said with a surprised look.

Since they had been in the prison for so long, they didn't have access to outside world news, and thus it came as a total surprise to them.

"The navy has started a massive drafting wave, and while they lost their strongest power, their numbers have actually tripled.

"With that increased manpower, the pirates are not the dominant power of the seas anymore. They are now struggling to maintain control over their territories."

Kiernan said.
