Zombie Bodyguard

Chapter 1243: The Captain's Authority

Jin Lisi's eyes flickered a few times, his face showing embarrassment, before finally blurting out, "I have nothing to say if something happened."

This statement showed no remorse at all, and Xiao Manxue was too lazy to fuss with such a person, so she directly asked, "Tell me the process."

Jin Lisi glanced at the other fainted team members and said, "After you left, in order to quickly investigate the vampire's hiding place, the three of us left the inn for the previous incident site to inspect. At the edge of the forest, we spotted suspicious figures and immediately pursued them."

"When we reached the ruins, we suddenly lost sight of them. Just as we were feeling strange, those people descended from the sky..."

"Descended from the sky?" Xiao Manxue asked curiously.

"Yes, descended from the sky, because they weren't humans at all, but vampires who transformed into blood-sucking bats. They ambushed us from above, and we were caught off guard. The blood-sucking bats lifted us into the air and flew a short distance before dropping us down."

"We didn't know what poison we encountered; after being captured, our bodies became weak. The three of them weren't as strong, so they fainted directly, while I barely remained conscious." Jin Lisi explained the entire process.

"Senior, I've read your Huaxia's martial arts novels; could it be the knockout drug?" A female team member asked curiously, revealing herself as a martial arts fan.

"What knockout drug? The knockout drug is something from novels, and whether it really exists is still controversial. If it existed in ancient times, would soldiers still have to endure extreme pain when treating wounds in battles? In ancient Huaxia, the drug with notable anesthetic effects was Hua Tuo's Powder for Anesthesia. However, common anesthetics have little effect on cultivators; instead, ethylene's anesthetic effects are better, only needing inhalation through the respiratory system to take effect," Lin Tian refuted.

"Senior, senior, the three of them suddenly started trembling. What's going on?" A team member urgently shouted.

Lin Tian and Xiao Manxue quickly walked over, squatted down to inspect, and found the three team members shaking, their faces turned extremely pale.

"How could this happen?" Jin Lisi frowned, as he was also captured but unharmed.

Lin Tian quickly turned over the team members on the ground, pulling back their collars one by one, discovering a wound on each neck. The wound's flesh was turned out but blood did not flow, instead appearing grayish-white.

"Corpse poison, they were poisoned by corpse poison; I've seen such wounds before." Lin Tian shook his head.

Lin Tian had seen such a wound on Zhang Lingyu a few months ago when Zhang Lingyu was ambushed by a vampire and was poisoned by corpse poison.

"Being poisoned by corpse poison is worse than evil energy. If not cleaned in time and their entire bodies become infiltrated with corpse poison, they will turn into zombies, neither human nor vampire, and there will be no hope for them then," Lin Tian stated seriously.

The team members' faces collectively changed. They were not afraid of dying, but turning into zombies was unacceptable. Jin Lisi's face turned pale as he hurriedly touched his own neck, only relaxing after confirming he was unharmed.

"Why isn't Vice Captain Jin Lisi poisoned with corpse poison?" a team member asked.

Lin Tian walked over and reached for Jin Lisi, who hastily protested, "What are you trying to do?"

But Jin Lisi couldn't stop Lin Tian, who reached out and flipped open his collar, discovering a silver undergarment under his jacket. There was a scratch on the collar of the undergarment, but it hadn't pierced through.

"You all see, our Vice Captain Jin Lisi is wearing a bulletproof undergarment. It's this undergarment that saved him from the vampire's claws or fangs," Lin Tian explained to everyone.

"But I still don't understand why vampires clearly have the ability to kill people, yet choose not to?" Zhu Li asked curiously, having experienced similar situations.

"Perhaps the vampires are merciful; they merely want to warn us. But let's not worry about their motives for now; saving people takes priority," Lin Tian waved his hand.

He squatted down in front of an injured team member, laying the team member flat, then ripped open the back of the clothes.

Under the surprised gazes of the team members, Lin Tian unclasped the gold thread on his wrist and used the Nine Needle Technique for acupuncture on the acupoints. As the acupuncture proceeded, combined with massage techniques, black blood began to seep from the wound, eventually spilling out bright red blood. Only then did Lin Tian stop.

Lin Tian performed the same technique on all three team members, and half an hour later, he stood up, took a deep breath, and said, "It's done. Clean their wounds and the foul blood, then return to the inn."

"What about Vice Captain Jin Lisi?" the team member asked, looking at Jin Lisi sitting on the ground.

"That's easy," Lin Tian said with a strange smile as he approached Jin Lisi.

Under everyone's curious gaze, Lin Tian punched Jin Lisi in the stomach, causing him to vomit violently, his face turning green as cold sweat formed on his forehead, finally coming to a stop.

"Lin... Lin Tian, why did you hit me?" Jin Lisi stammered, unable to speak smoothly due to the turmoil in his stomach.

Lin Tian stood and smiled, "Try to see if your strength has returned."

Jin Lisi paused, then clenched his fists, feeling strength flowing endlessly into his body. His face showed surprise and he jumped up.

"Lin Tian, your medical skills are strange, yet truly miraculous," Zhu Li exclaimed, and other team members also praised.

Jin Lisi looked at Lin Tian, mouth agape for a long time, but ultimately did not express gratitude. Instead, his eyes bore anger because although Lin Tian helped him regain mobility, he also embarrassed him, so his hatred for Lin Tian outweighed his gratitude.

"Jin Lisi, if you're alright, lead the effort to carry them back," Xiao Manxue ordered coldly.

As Vice Captain, carrying people was not typically his responsibility, but since he caused this trouble, he was stuck with it.

It was Xiao Manxue leading ahead, Lin Tian and Rossi at the rear. Once the team members were far away, Lin Tian stopped, raising his head to gaze at the sky. Although it was nighttime, and large trees blocked the view, through the gaps in the leaves, Lin Tian could see shadows passing by.

"Brother Tian, it's blood-sucking bats. They've been monitoring us this whole time," Rossi said solemnly as he looked up.

"Their behavior is strange, possibly for reasons we don't know yet. I have a feeling something major will happen at Sorlin Castle. Let's head back first," Lin Tian said with a thoughtful look.

The journey back encountered no obstacles, and the vampires did not reappear. Lin Tian and the others returned safely to the inn.

After settling the three injured team members, Xiao Manxue convened a meeting of the small group, starting with, "Jin Lisi, as team leader, I'm exercising my authority to remove you from the position of Vice Captain!"
