So he got out of the case, inherited his father's farms, and the money flowed into his hands and multiplied. He opened several banks and became one of the most famous aristocrats. But the question remains. What did he see or what happened to him when he was young that made him so brutal? A child cannot be born with this cruelty. Undoubtedly, the matter is related to his father or his mother."
The soldier looked in front of him and found Jasto staring at him with bulging eyes. "Are you two finished talking?" he said.
The two soldiers jumped, flustered. One of them said, "Our apologies, High Commander."
Jasto returned to resuming his annihilation of the village. They breathed a sigh of relief, their hearts still pounding violently.
Jasto remembered lines from the holy book of the Zurix, which they had forced him to memorize during his stay in the religious school before the Franks revolution, in which many monks and saints were killed. Jasto had been one of those who supported the revolutionaries with a lot of money and weapons and incited them to violence and merciless killing. He promised them that he would bribe the Franks judiciary if anyone ever sued them, either to reduce their punishment or to absolve them of the crimes they committed. The revolutionaries had attacked with brutality, burned the houses of worship (the Ecclesia), slaughtered the monks in the streets, burned their homes, and looted their property. After the revolution ended and those who opposed the revolutionary council were executed or arrested, Emperor Darleon was able to snatch power from them with his military achievements in fighting the enemies of the revolution and the rebels from the clergy and the common people. Then he began his ambitions to unite the scattered Zurix empires under one banner and then conquer the unified Lunix empire and rule the entire universe. But he failed and was defeated by the Zurix alliance. After that, Darleon III came and saw the ruin that the revolution had brought upon them and the enormous enmities that surrounded them from every direction, so he began to be a little more tolerant with the clergy. He began to enact laws and prosecute all those who had shed blood, so many of the convicts fled to the planet Ghlizan, such as Jasto and others, and to the other planets ruled by the Franks in order to escape the trials and prosecution. Likewise, the dregs of the Franks, such as criminals, vagabonds, and those with criminal records, fled to the planet Ghlizan to join the Franks army and avoid prison or execution. And here they are, doing whatever they want without any oversight or accountability.
Jasto said, as he remembered the lines from the holy book of the Zurix, "And the Lord said, 'Kill every child, woman, man, old man, beast, and creature, and do not leave a tree or a house; for they are the enemies of the Lord.'"
Yousef and Akira stood on a large hill overlooking the village of Barqa. He saw Jasto burning it with enjoyment. He was overcome with rage, and it reached its peak. He and Akira were wearing the super-suit, the latest powerful technology that humans had invented on the planet Atlantis to fight Gaia's robots. The mission of these suits was to ensure their protection, increase their speed and strength, and protect them from diseases and climatic fluctuations. Yousef looked at the heinous annihilation below him, the flames reaching the sky. "We have to stop this," he said.
"We have to find the crystal first," Akira objected, "and not let them know we're here."
Yousef unfastened the helmet from his face, revealing his dark features. He said, his face contorted in pain, "I have searched many villages, cities, and continents and have not found this crystal. I don't know if it fell into the water or what! If it fell into the water, we could spend years and years here trying to find it. I have also seen many of the Franks' crimes that have robbed me of my sleep. I can't bear to see another massacre. Maybe the crystal is with them, and maybe we have to get into a confrontation with them as we did with Gaia to get the jewel back. And I don't think they are any stronger than Gaia and his machines."
Akira sighed and looked at the Tree of Knowledge that was visible through the fog on the horizon. "I spoke with Ivanov, and he told me he is there in the Tree of Knowledge. As for Keno and Leonis, they are in the capital. But Noor and Sairi are not responding to my messages and calls, and I'm afraid something bad has happened to them."
Yousef shook his head in annoyance. "Noor is always getting himself into trouble. I hope he hasn't been captured by the Franks. As for Sairi, there's no need to worry about him. Rather, we should pity anyone who decides to stand in his way."
Akira smiled and turned his face toward the village of Barqa, then to Jasto. "So, you want us to confront this monster and his battalions?"
Yousef began his warm-up exercises. "First, we have to save as many Ghlizan as possible to spoil his game and make him lose his composure. Then we'll move quickly among his soldiers and scatter them, so they kill each other. And maybe this wretch will vent his anger on everything and hit his own soldiers and destroy a large number of them. Then, we'll single him out and beat him up. And no one will know about our presence. Maybe they'll think we're from the Prince's soldiers or the Ghlizan resistance. After that, we'll interrogate some of them to find out if they know anything about the crystal. And maybe we'll get into their database and see what useful information we can get that will lead us to the crystal."
Akira swallowed hard. "Interrogate, you say? We don't know how to interrogate anyone!"
Yousef smiled. "A few kicks and punches, and they'll confess quickly. Or maybe they'll confess to us without that, after we defeat their commander before their very eyes."
Akira lowered his head. "Then let's begin."
