The Vengeful Extra's Ascension

Chapter 154: Crimson Apocalypse Descends!

The first wave hit like a storm of screaming metal. Thousands upon Thousands of Amethyst-ranked Abyssal horrors descended upon them, their screeches slicing through the still air as distorted bodies of bone, light, and void slammed against Albedo's Fractal Domain.

The runes around the group flickered, twisted, and then shattered under the sheer, impossible pressure. In an instant, the extremely complex spell Albedo had casted crumbled to dust, and just like that, the group was exposed, left alone with these Abyssal Horrors hungry for a snack.

The world went white and black at once, flame and void clashing, light imploding into sound. All of the students were immediately on guard, shooting down as much of the monsters as possible.

However, with how high the ranks of the beasts were, normal attacks wouldn't hurt them, leading the group to unleash more and more spells at high power.

Albedo was the one who recognized just how hard they'd need to fight, and so he moved first. His foot slammed into the unseen floor, mana flaring outward in rings of molten gold and deep violet.

The very space beneath his feet cracked open, fractal geometry spiraling outward as lines of power carved themselves into the void.

"Crimson Apocalypse Physique, full release!"

His voice carried like thunder through the nothingness. His skin ignited. His veins flared molten-red. His platinum hair burned into a storm of embered strands as the light in his eyes shifted from calm, calculating blue to a searing infernal crimson lined with violet fractals.

The Crimson Apocalypse Physique roared to life, his blood transmuting into raw flame, every heartbeat exploding outward in destructive shockwaves. The ground beneath him didn't just crack—it melted, dripping like candle wax into the void below.

A dozen monsters lunged for him simultaneously, their maws splitting in jagged patterns, wings of glass and bone unfurling behind them.

He raised his hand.

"Fractal Convergence: Infernal Vortex!"

Reality bent inward and a spiraling gate of golden fire erupted around him, dragging the incoming creatures into its burning maw. The vortex crushed, twisted, and then collapsed, imploding with a burst of violet flame that scorched even the light of the realm itself.

But there was no time to breathe.

Celeste shot past him in a blur of argent flame, wings burning so hot they left trails of glassed space behind her, using her weapon to slash through the incoming swarm.

Each cut released explosions of silver-blue fire, the kind that devoured both shadow and matter alike.

"Solar Flare, Cascade Form!" she roared, sweeping her weapon in a wide arc.

Dozens of monsters disintegrated instantly, reduced to ash before their screams even began. But more came. Hundreds more, and the monsters that were killed, started slowly reforming.

It seemed the Crown was unleashing an eternal Abyssal aura that continuously revived the slain monsters, leaving the group with little option but to battle for as long as they can and wait for help from the Professors.

Above all of them, Miranda floated higher, her golden eyes glowing with runic rings as temporal magic rippled from her hands. The edges of her body blurred in time, fragmenting into countless reflections.

"Spatial Collapse, Sector Theta!"

She clapped her hands together. A web of distorted light formed around the monsters, then folded inward. They screamed as time itself folded them into a singularity of mana, their bodies torn between moments until only dust remained.

Meanwhile, the Elven Princess continued to unleash magical blasts that took down multiple enemies, and also continuously healed and protected her fellow combatants alongside Elara, taking care of everyone.

Fade appeared behind her, silent as breath, daggers coated in a smoky sheen of death mana

As all this was happening, one monster, a massive, eight-armed, its body lined with mirrored eyes, caught Fade mid-step. Its claws struck, faster than lightning.

Fade raised her hands, but it was too slow,

"Arcane Reversal."

A violet rune flared on his wrist, and the monster's arm snapped backward, reversing time for a fraction of a second. Its claws tore into its own chest.

Fade landed, panting, the rune fading from her skin as she looked up, nodding at Miranda as a thanks for protecting her.

Meanwhile, Lilian, eyes crimson and glowing, extended her hand. Blood magic burst from her palm, forming chains that slithered through the battlefield.

"Crimson Dominion, Bind and Burn!"

The chains pierced through the nearest ten monsters, pulling them into a single, writhing mass. Her eyes darkened, and with a whisper, she clenched her fist.

The creatures detonated in unison, painting the void in streaks of blood and ash.

The crowned entity above them chuckled, voice vibrating through their bones.

"Ah… splendid. Such potential. Such futility."

Lucian's aura flared gold-green as he shouted over the chaos. "Don't let it phase you! Keep pushing! We don't stop until the Professors come for us,"

He charged ahead, sword blazing with radiant energy. His movements were a blur of divine precision—each strike a perfect arc of light that cleaved monsters cleanly in half.

Behind him, Morgana's shadows crawled across the ground like liquid smoke, merging into the corpses and turning them into grotesque puppets that turned on their own kin.

Her voice was low, trembling, but resolute. "Shadow Rebirth… feed."

Her eyes darkened completely. The air around her twisted into a whirlpool of night as each slain creature's mana flowed into her, fueling her next spell.

"Dark Wonderland - Oblivion Bloom!"

A massive black lotus formed around her, its petals made of shadow, its core pulsing with bloodlight. When it bloomed, it unleashed a storm of screaming tendrils that tore through everything in sight.

The entire battlefield shook.

And still, they came.

The Amethyst horde moved like a living ocean, the crowned being's endless laughter filling the realm. Every time one of the students destroyed a creature, three more seemed to take its place.

The air grew thicker, heavier, Albedo could feel the dimension itself resisting their existence.

"Remember, this is a test of endurance," Albedo muttered as he raised his hands, the fractals on his body aligning in perfect symmetry.

The flames consuming him changed, crimson deepened to white, violet lines burning like molten glass. His aura warped the world itself; his very heartbeat distorted the dimension's rhythm.

In the next instant, he vanished.

The air exploded where he had been. He reappeared in the middle of the horde, both pistols drawn, Havoc and Ruin, their barrels radiating infernal heat.

The pistols roared, spitting trails of crimson annihilation. Every shot burst into a miniature sun, burning through ranks of monsters, collapsing entire swathes of the field into molten glass.

He spun, fired again, dropped one weapon, drew a rune circle midair, and unleashed a surge of runic energy from his free hand.

"Fractal Convergence - Starfall Barrage!"

Light spears descended from the ceiling of the void, tearing through Amethyst horrors like divine rain. The explosions rolled in sequence, each one brighter and louder than the last.

Celeste landed beside him, her flames intertwining with his. "You're overclocking again."

"Then keep up," Albedo replied without turning.

Together, they moved, sunfire and apocalypse, light and ruin, burning a hole straight through the battlefield.

But even then, the Crowned One's laughter only grew louder.

"Yes… yes! That's it! Break yourselves against me! Show me the will of the future Monarchs! This is fantastic, simply fantastic, ahahahaha!"

The very floor began to crumble beneath them, the realm fracturing into layers of colorless glass. From the cracks, black light poured upward, forming even larger shapes.

Albedo's eyes widened. "You've got to be kidding me."

These weren't Amethyst. These were Diamond tier Abyssals, ascending from the depths of the Crown's essence.

The air convulsed, and for the first time, the group felt despair.

Miranda shouted, "The mana readings, these things are beyond anything I've seen before,"

"I don't care if they're gods," Lucian said, blood running down his chin, "We hold this line!"

"We'll die if they're gods dickhead, lets hope the Professors are near," Zeus said as he axed down another beast as the group rallied.

Celeste's wings burst outward again, wrapping around everyone in a massive dome of silver flame. Morgana's shadows reinforced it from below, forming a dual barrier of light and dark.

Lilian knelt, slamming her hands into the void-floor. Blood runes spiraled outward, forming seals beneath their feet.

"Blood Conversion - Celestial Rite!" she screamed.

The crimson circles pulsed once, and their auras tripled.

Everyone's mana exploded outward, Lucian's sword became a golden inferno, Miranda's hair floated in ripples of time, Celeste became a star, Morgana a shadow.

And Albedo became apocalypse itself.

He lifted both hands, gathering flame and fractal geometry into a single point above his palm. The heat was unbearable, even for Celeste. The white-violet sphere grew until it looked like a dying sun ready to collapse.

"CRIMSON APOCALYPSE - OVERDRIVE FORM!"

He hurled it forward. The miniature sun struck the approaching Diamond class horror, and detonated.

The blast tore through the horizon, vaporizing thousands of creatures, tearing open the fabric of the dimension. Space convulsed, reality screamed, and everything went white.

For a single, silent instant, nothing existed.

Then came the shockwave.

It hurled everyone backward, Lucian, Miranda, Lilian, Morgana, all of them flung into the air like leaves in a hurricane of collapsing mana.

When the light faded, the battlefield was a graveyard of dissolving shadows.

Albedo stood alone in the crater, steam rising from his body, his breathing ragged, the glow fading from his eyes.

But the Crowned Entity still hovered above, untouched.

Its voice came soft now, almost gentle.

"You burn bright, little sun. But all flames, even divine ones, fade."

It raised its hand, and most of the beasts quickly began to reform, all the while above the group, the sky fractured once more.

And from above, more eyes began to open.

One. Two. Three. Then hundreds.

Each one pulsed with amethyst light, each one preparing to birth another army.
