I will strive beyond this cursed bloodline!

Chapter 77: We are who we are...even if the world thinks we are something else.

-Seven series dragon heart.

Built in the forge of a world using the beating heart of a nascent planet's soul, this core was created by the talent of a mad scientist, designed to integrate the duality of mana as an esoteric energy and normal energy. It was meant to be used by the scion of a dying world, but both the world and the owner died before it was finished, currently it is beating once more after having been asleep in the soul of its [Inheritor]. Strive to complete it, or let it sleep for eternity, the choice is yours.

That was her former skill, before she got into Rossie's pants.

-Seven series dragon heart.

Built within the body of a nascent entity, it was birthed out of the regret and grief of an old dragon. The last unfulfilled wish of a doomed world. It got rebuilt by the amalgamation of sins and hopes, and for the first time ever, it beats as it waits for its wielder to embrace the true nature of her change. This is the seed that will birth the path forward.

And then, her new skill after she was done with the Lust Gem. It was kind of what she expected after seeing what having the Lust Gem could do.

But seeing it in person made it come home more. What she found interesting was the description, she wasn't sure what to think of it, the Heart was waiting for her to embrace the true nature of her change?

Was it because she hadn't fully embraced the power of the seven cardinal sins? Or was it because she went around in a Human form?

She wasn't really a Dragon, not really.

Either way, this wasn't something that she could fix at the moment, and there was other things that Elizabeth needed to do at the moment. Like marry Rossie and Rena.

The Heart? That could wait, it was beating strongly within her chest, and Elizabeth could feel it filled with love and hope.

But besides dealing with that, Elizabeth was pressed for other issues, namely, the wedding.

"I know you are already tired, but this is the last stretch before the big day." Jenna said as she put forth two plates of food, "Do you want a classical Avalon meal, or a Britannian meal?"

The question had its weight of course, it was what they would serve on the dinner feast. To the left Elizabeth had an average breakfast for Papa, a plate filled with hearty meat, some rice and gravy, to the right she had a plate with chicken and pasta with some mashed potatoes.

Actually, most of the dishes on either side had mashed potatoes as an option...

"Any reason we have so many potatoes?" Elizabeth asked looking around all the options.

"I have no idea what your minions wanted with all these potatoes, but that is the ingredient we have the most." Jenna said shrugging, "So which one would it be?"

"Left," Elizabeth said sighing and pointing at that one, she wasn't 100% sure that Papa and Mother would join, but if they did, she wanted Papa to have something he liked. So it was easy enough.

What about Mother you ask? That woman ate whatever was in front of her; it was almost comical, if not for the fact that Elizabeth had grown accustomed to being mindful of what she ate. Unlike Mother, Elizabeth had a normal body (At least used to have a normal one anyway), so she would rise in her body mass quite easily.

And Elizabeth could not deal with that, because Mother would get all worried that Elizabeth was sick, when all that was happening was Elizabeth getting a little chubby.

So Elizabeth restrained what she ate and minded her diet, which also made Mother worry, but at least that was more manageable, better mind your diet than having magical liposuction.

Not that it was as dangerous as the real one, or hurt. Elizabeth got it done only once when she was eight and didn't know better, it scared the hell out of her. And settled the idea that Mother was not the best... at Mom stuff.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

She did her best, but that was about it.

"I guessed as much," Jenna said, nodding, "Your minions got us plenty of meat, so even if you picked something else, most plates would still have some meat on it... Or meat transmuted into something else."

"... Do I want to know?" Elizabeth said eyeing silently one of her skills from the Heart that allowed her to turn her mana (Or whatever was her power and energy) into physical stuff, and it said nothing about not using it to make living entities. And since her power was focusing more on creating life...

Perhaps this was how most nascent gods made new worlds?

"It's normal, low-level alchemy skills from Morganna, nothing too fancy, she just reassembles the molecules into a new setting. It tastes normal, promise." Jenna said shrugging while pointing towards the door, "The higher-than-average mana density you have here makes it easier to materialize [Echoes], so she is fussing over the organization."

"Yeah about that, so your Echoes are replacing what the minions were doing?" Elizabeth asked spreading her awareness, there was some extra mana oozing from the Cathedral's building. Perhaps since it was originally part of Terra Nexus, it had benefited to some degree?

Now that she was paying attention it felt as if the Cathedral wanted to encroach into Zaanam, for now it was containing itself, but this was a guarantee that there was no way that this would be allowed to remain within Zaanam.

Even if Elizabeth didn't take it away, the purple woman would probably destroy it herself.

"Some of them, unlike you I can summon infinite minions. Besides, these are still Echoes," Jenna said shaking her head, "Morgana can use summoning magic and so she can bring a few extra helping hands. But for the big day we will have security and guards from all the people that got invitations, you will need to get some muscle yourself. Any chance you can call your minions by then?"

Elizabeth turned inward, to what held her connection to Terra Nexus, the seal was still holding strong. She could perhaps summon Mordred, Reginald, Aura... But the others?

The others were farther apart. And so, would summoning a new type of Minion be the answer?

While thinking about that, a gentle prod at the back of her mind struck her, and Elizabeth smiled, "I can figure something by then, yes." Elizabeth said nodding.

"... I don't know what you thought, but please be lenient on the dignitaries, they are at best D-Tier, so they are quite squishy." Jenna said sighing, "They will have their own A-Tier bodyguards, so whatever you summon may get a reaction from them."

"If they can react and move, that is." Elizabeth said laughing, "But it's fine, I will only summon some...muscle if someone starts something and needs a reminder of their place."

"That is exactly what your Father used to say before punching someone into orbit." Jenna smiled, shaking her head, "But fair is fair, as he used to say, if they earned the punch, they earned the punch."

Sagely advice from Papa, that was for sure.

"So, anything else?" Elizabeth turned to Jenna. They had less and less to do, and if anything, Elizabeth felt that this was stretching as it was. Elizabeth wanted to marry and be done with it already!

Not that she wasn't married, but you get the point.

"Hmm.... the list of guests has been decided, the food, the service staff have been hired... the dress and everything else is done..." Jenna said as she pulled out a list, "Nothing, all that is to wait for the date, send a confirmation to all who requested for the confirmation on the date... What should we send?"

Elizabeth turned to stare at the clock, then to the calendar. It was... well, she was already laughing at the date.

"September fourteen is the date I wanted at first, my birthday," Elizabeth said smirking, "It was past a couple months now, since Elizabeth had spent the first two months in a time frozen barrier, then a couple months in her bedroom with Rossie and Rena."

Now they almost five months since that day, could they wait another seven months so she could marry that day? Probably.

"Make it next Friday." Elizabeth decided, a wedding in February, surely something fun was to be said about that.

"Right, I'll send the confirmations and set up the teleportation circles, good thing your minions managed to finish that before they left." Jenna said nodding and walking out of the room. "Go and ensure your side is ready."

Her side? Elizabeth looked around, there wasn't really anything she needed to do though?

She had made sure they got their dresses, she didn't need to mind her food intake as a spell could deal with the extra fat... Or if not she could just shift into the right weight. Easy.

Thank god for magic, skills and the dragon physiology.

And after Jenna left, Elizabeth felt the Cathedral turn into a frenzy as people started pouring from the teleportation circles all around the citadel that had grown around them, some used the buildings that Elizabeth had provided, others built their own.

Elizabeth didn't mind either; all the area under this artificial island was under Elizabeth's domain, after all. Whether within the Cathedral or not, it mattered not to Elizabeth, for she could still perceive and see them all the same.

The shadows within the island were her spies, the electricity they used whispered to Elizabeth what she needed, the space around them allowed her to pluck whatever she wanted, and if Elizabeth pressed down... She knew that her Heart would allow her to take control over the life and death of those under her demesne...

But she refrained from doing that, instead she looked around, walking around the Cathedral as people ran along, a few looked at her weirdly.

She was, after all, a young woman wearing pants and sweeter, she was pretty and her hair almost sparkled with energy, but here? People like her were the norm, the only people around were people who was high on the tier list.

The weakest was a D-Tier.

And clothes does help highlight the good figure, Elizabeth currently was wearing loose clothes, so her figure was obfuscated, even so. No one came to talk or question her, most were worried with securing their areas, the places their bosses would sit and mingle.

They had no time for someone who apparently was wasting time and just looking around; a few suspected she was checking for insecure areas and the weak spots of the wards around them. Assuming no one around was merely looking and sightsiting.

And that was the thing, Elizabeth really was just enjoying the sights. She knew every brick, every plank, every ornament and chain, every candle and chair.

But she hadn't seen them as a whole, so she walked the hallways. Whenever someone ever so much thought about stopping her, she merely sidestepped them and carried on, many complained and a few went as far to look for Jenna to complain.

But Elizabeth didn't mind and carried on.

She enjoyed the sights and made sure to save the memory of what the Cathedral bustling with people, for the next week... It may no longer stand proud and tall.

If [The Prophet] really came with ill intentions, this would become a battlefield, and she would not contain herself.

To the Italians, this Cathedral was a juicy target, a place filled with mana that was slowly turning to Prana? She knew a few of their workers had already sent a sample of Elizabeth's Prana, devoid of domain and faith. Pure unadulterated Prana ready for the last step towards apotheosis.

Ready for Elizabeth to pick a domain and Name.

Her Heart beat waiting for her to take that last step. Elizabeth was unsure about it, she of course knew she needed to take that last step, but something stopped her short.

What would happen to her Heart? And her Origin.

She hadn't thought about that for the longest time.

Walking to one of the alcoves at the top of the Cathedral, Elizabeth closed her eyes and focused her Dragon Eyes inwardly. Towards her own Core.

Origin Name: The Shadow Weaver

Base: Draconic Sovereign

Fate Rank: Primordial

Type: Seeker of Knowledge

She could see the data, the data that had been shown barely for a second to her before. The name of her foundation and what should have been her unadulterated Fate.

Elizabeth was, above all, the one who was destined to become a Shadow Weaver, the one who weaved shadows into living beings, connecting the people all over the world into a singular nation ruled by Shadows.

The base of her fate was the one nurtured by a Dragon god, a Draconic Sovereign who ruled above a dead and doomed world. She was the seed birthed from the crushed hopes and dreams of The Calamity Dragon.

As such, the weight of her Fate was that of a primordial entity, someone who could stand toe to toe against gods and worlds all the same, perhaps at the apex of her power she would be able to birth new worlds from mere mussings, instead of how much she was struggling at the moment with Terra Nexus.

The last string of text though, was the one that worried and made Elizabeth wonder the most.

It claimed she was a Seeker of Knowledge, but was she?

She knew for a fact that her previous incarnation, the Dragon of Calamity, Alexanders Saintsworths was one such being, the man was one who looked and searched far and wide, seeking the right bits of knowledge to save his doomed world.

But was Elizabeth?

Nay, Elizabeth did hoard techniques, mana, even people, she took all under her care, but while she had access to much knowledge, she never went out of her way to seek for it.

So was she truly that?

At the last stretch of her path, Elizabeth questioned that fundamental part of who she was supposed to be, she... Was something else, a flick of her will brought forth all the monikers she knew for the type of origin she was aware and those that she could peruse.

Seeker

Caretaker

Knight

Seer

Keeper

Thief

Heir

Maid

Mage

Witch

Prince

Lord

Muse

Priest

King

But was Elizabeth some of those? No, she had some of them of course, Elizabeth was a magician and a witch, a sorcerer and a Magical Girl. She was a knight and a fighter, an assassin and a thief.

She could be called a Maid, Caretaker and Keeper even, if one took into consideration her work with Terra Nexus and what she was planning to do.

Elizabeth was an instigator, a Lord, a Princess, a Queen, and even a King. She ruled over many and yet was not a leader.

Elizabeth Starbright was many things, and that amount increased even more if one took into perspective her innate skills, for she was also a Dragon and a Shifter.

She could become whatever she wanted, but what was that should be at the very source of what Elizabeth was?

Elizabeth thought, she perused all that she had done, her motivations, her plans, her hopes and dreams... Her actions, what resonated more with her, what actions truly shone as something she could be proud of. What was it that made Elizabeth truly Elizabeth?

And when she arrived at an answer, she couldn't help but laugh.

So while the idea was still fresh, she willed her mana to turn sharp, for it to become incisive and truly filled with her desire. And when it was sharp enough, when it was truly focused, she focused all of it to the tip of her index finger.

With slow, measured and calculated moves, Elizabeth touched the metaphysical screen that depicted her data and willed herself to erase the previous Type: Seeker of Knowledge.

She felt a sharp pain spread from within herself, as part of what made Elizabeth herself was cracked. Without missing a beat and before something else took place there Elizabeth started to write.

She wrote what she thought could describe her the best, and sure enough. As the words were inscribed into the blue screen Elizabeth felt a pulse of mana spread.

As if the world was acknowledging her for who she was.

Elizabeth Starbright was... Finally herself.
