"Are you sure about using this plan?" The generals asked after I proposed my ideas to them.

The way that they were looking at me showed that they clearly didn't agree with the ideas that I had proposed. At the same time, there were traces of disdain that were in their eyes as if they looked down on these ideas.

I didn't blame them since the ideas that I had suggested were considered a bit petty and cowardly.

But even so, there was no doubting the effects that they would have.

That was why I firmly said, "This is what we're going to do."

They looked at me with uncertain looks, but there wasn't a single one of them that said anything in the end.

When they heard how determined I was about using these ideas, there really wasn't anything that they could say.

What could they say when I was blackmailing them like this?

That was why they had no choice but to give the orders to the soldiers to prepare the things that I wanted them to prepare.

Though when the soldiers heard this, there were similar looks that appeared on their faces. It was clear that they didn't like these ideas either and looked down on them as well.

These were petty and sneak ideas, they shouldn't be things that proud soldiers like them should do.

It was just too bad that they had no choice since these were orders that came to them.

Above all else, they were soldiers.

That meant that as long as it wasn't an order that went against their conscience too much, they would follow that order. So even if they didn't seem to completely agree with it, they still went to follow it.

"Are we sure that this will work?"

That was the one thing that all of the soldiers asked as they followed these orders.

"What is that smell?"

"Ugh, it hurts so much to smell it!"

"It's the humans, they're the ones doing it!"

The demons on the walls looked over the walls to find us burning something under the walls. One look was enough for them to tell that this was the source of the smell.

"Stop that!"

"What are you humans doing?"

"Do you not have any shame at all?"

It really was strange hearing the demons asking this, but the soldiers didn't stop as they continued tossing more things into the pile of burning things. The more things that they burned, the more that it stank.

If it wasn't for the masks that the humans were wearing, they would have been in the same situation as the demons.

No, it would have been much worse for the humans that were right next to the burning pile.

"Arrows! Bring out the arrows! We'll shoot all of the humans under the walls!"

The demons couldn't take it anymore as they brought out bows and arrows, but they didn't get to shoot them at all as they were suddenly hit with arrows that came from over the walls.

When they looked in the distance, they found that there were human archers that had been waiting for them. The moment that they appeared, the human archers immediately shot at them.

So there really wasn't anything that they could do other than hide behind the walls.

The human archers had long been waiting for them and had already adjusted their aim, so there was no way that they would be able to match them.

If they continued standing there, they would just be peppered with arrows.

But there was still the fact that there was the smell coming from over the walls.

"Just leave them. We'll get back and avoid the smell for now."

That was the only thought that the demons could think of when they were surrounded by this stench.

They didn't seem to care that they were abandoning the walls at all.

The demons just really didn't have the same training as the soldiers, but that wasn't strange since that was just how the demons were in the first place. It would have actually been more strange if they had been organized.

But in the end, this was a mistake on their part.

"What is this feeling? Why do I feel numb?"

A few demons said this before suddenly collapsing to the ground.

The other demons were surprised to see this, but the one thing that they noticed was that it was only the weaker demons that had suddenly collapsed like this. The ones that were from stronger tribes didn't seem to collapse that easily.

However, that didn't mean that they didn't feel anything.

There was this strange feeling that came over them as well.

It was a slight numbing feeling as if there was something that was making it hard for them to control their bodies.

"Poison…the humans actually poisoned us!"

They finally realized what the reason for burning those things and assaulting them with that smell was for.

It was just that they couldn't believe that the humans would do something that was this underhanded…

"Are we the demons or are they the demons?"

That was all that they could think when they realized what happened.

It was just that the demons really didn't get a chance to think about this.

"Ah!"

With this one scream of pain, the fight had started.

There were humans that had suddenly appeared out of nowhere that were attacking them.

The demons were completely caught off guard by these humans that had appeared out of thin air, but there wasn't anything that they could do as most of them had numb bodies.

Even if they wanted to fight, whatever poison they were affected with stopped them from fighting properly.

"This is bad! Stop the humans before they reach the gate!"

This came too late as the humans quickly made their way to the closed gates and opened it up.

Since the demons had abandoned the walls and the gate controls, there was nothing stopping them from opening the gate.
