Astra raised an eyebrow as Scar disappeared into thin air with only so much as a small pop as the air desperately rushed inwards to fill the void that he had left in his wake.
It was only a single eyebrow though, indicating mild curiosity. She had lost the ability to be surprised by this man, and the strange things he did. There was simply something about watching him create life from nothing, turn a dragon into their daughter and split himself into multiple, very cute bodies.
For some reason all of that, and more, just made the act of disappearing like that seem... perhaps not inevitable. But just unsurprising. After all, it was the least he was able to do. He could turn water to wine or walk on water, and she wouldn't be surprised at this point.
When she heard a few whooping cheers coming from down the corridor, she couldn't help but laugh softly to herself. She rolled over, patting the cheek of the one laying next to her, gently rousing him from his exhausted slumber.
"Wake up handsome, I think you will want to see this one."
"Ugh... Give me... Give me another few minutes. It's like an ancient mummy coughing up dust when it gets... resurrected after thousands of years."
"What a delightful mental image, but that's not what this is about.... Maybe later though."
She patted him a few more times, keeping him awake before clambering out of bed herself. She quickly got dressed, simply 'borrowing' one of Seth's shirts with absolutely no intention of giving it back, as were the laws of the girlfriend, and simply pulled on her own trousers.
Eventually managing to drag Seth from bed, they plodded down the corridor to find Seth's old avatar dancing around like an idiot.
Again, nothing this man did surprised her anymore.
Astra shook her head softly, crossing her arms over her chest and tapping her finger against her arm.
"Care to explain to the rest of the class what's got you so excited?"
The Avatar stopped its dancing, turning to them with a smile before its movements turned stiff. A moment later, Scar's body manifested beside it, still wearing the clothes he had pulled on next to her.
"It's simple. I- We, can teleport now."
That news immediately sobered up the still sleepy Seth, as he immediately shot forwards and grabbed Scars shoulders.
"What? How!? You need to... Oh. OH! You don't mean..."
His eyes drifted towards the Avatar that Scar had just been possessing, as his two armed twin nodded softly while a wide, goofy grin on his face.
"Oh yeah, exactly like that."
"Would either of you care to explain to the person who isn't yourself?"
Astra tapped her finger against her arm impatiently, raising her eyebrow like a disappointed mother as she watched the two acting like excited children. That was a look she had gotten very good at. In fact it seemed to have come naturally to her, as if years of her dread inducing, angry looking resting faces that made people think she was going to murder them, had been leading up to the advent of her disappointed mother look.
The two boys smiled sheepishly, quickly talking amongst themselves before Seth stepped forwards and cleared his throat.
"You see, with our transcendent evolution we got the ability to transfer our soul to our puppets and possess them. It was mostly used for ease of combat, for situations that needed us to feel or more attention.
There was actually a time where we somehow ended up inside a tree person... Actually, we should really try the body thing again. It's creepy and kinda gross, but imagine the possibilities."
Half way through his explanation, Seth already got himself side-tracked and quickly turned back to his other self. They quickly chatted amongst each other, finishing each others sentences or speaking in half sentences in hushed tones.
After a few minutes, Astra simply cleared her throat and increased the intensity of the mom look.
"Ahem, Sorry. I'll continue. So while we could move our soul with the ability, our [Resonant Threads], our body stayed where it was.
However, now that our body and soul is combined, both move at once. So..."
Seth summoned the [Little Prick], the ink rising from his palm and rapidly taking shape into his spear that was currently the size of an arrow. With a flick of his wrist, he threw the arrow across the room and activated the [Resonant Threads] specifically targeting the bundle attached to the spear.
In a blink of an eye, his body disappeared completely, shooting across the threads in the form of his soul. For a brief moment he possessed his weapon, a truly strange feeling considering it had no limbs, no eyes, no mouth or anything that a human had.
It was a unique feeling, being able to feel the wind whistling over his sleek, trim and aerodynamic body as he sailed through the air without a care in the world. His 'vision' manifested in an Omni-directional, 360 degree view based solely on vibrations in that air.
Absolutely disorientating, but thankfully brief, as Seth quickly shunted his body from the arrow and manifested it back into the world.
As his hand formed into flesh once more, he caught the arrow out of the air with a smug smile, as he now stood on the other side of the room.
Astra looked over her shoulder at him, raising her eyebrow as she still stood with her arms crossed. She was trying to do her best to keep a serious, unamused expression on her face to maintain the mom look, but as Seth's goofy smile widened and was assisted by the wriggling of his eyebrows, that serious expression finally broke.
A smirk cracked her facade, but she quickly hid it by shaking her head.
"It's not a bad trick. Especially good for getting around. It's interesting you can turn your arm into a soul though, considering that it's technically a soulless machine. Part of one at least."
Seth frowned, glancing down at the black, prostethic right hand. He had forgotten about it, to be honest. Not just because it had been like that for over a year, but because even if it was fake, with his new soul body he could actually feel through it.
So to him it simply felt like a normal hand.
Then again, it made sense. If he could convert his clothes and such to a soul form, then there was nothing to say that he couldn't convert his arm too. Clothes were just as soulless as his arm.
The limits of this ability would definitely need to be tested. Was it just limited to things attached to him? Or could others be converted to?
He could already imagine dragging his enemies into a soul realm battle where they would be hopeless against him.
There was also the fact that he could do the opposite. He quickly glanced at Scar, sharing a quick silent conversation with each other, before Scar nodded softly. They didn't need to have telepathy, that was the ideal part of having basically the same mind.
After their agreement, Scar stepped forwards with a warm smile.
"I should probably get going now, but I have to ask, now that my mouth isn't busy, what is it that you can do now?"
Astra smirked at the question, shifting her stance so that she was standing straight, and clasped her hands behind her back.
She closed her eyes, focusing on the new ability she had gained, and when she opened them again they had completely changed. Gone was her brown iris', like two pools of melted chocolate, as was her electric blue pupils.
Instead her eyes had turned entirely black, with only a few random spots of twinkling white light breaking up the endless void within her eyes. It was as if the entire night sky had been stolen from the air and plopped into her eyes.
The starry sky expanded, spreading from her eyes and covering her entire body. Her clothes, which were partially Seth's clothes, clung to her body before the starry sky spread over them, pressing them flat against her body and fitting her form like a type of body suit.
Her entire body, from head to toe, became a featureless, humanoid figure composed of endlessly blackness and twinkling stars. The only thing not consumed by the dazzling view of the nights sky, was her hair.
It grew in size, drifting behind her like seaweed drifting in the ocean. It lost its natural two tone colouring, itself turning into a dazzling mixture of purple and pink. The colours clashed, mixed and danced together in clouds.
It was as if an entire nebula had been ripped from the depths of space, stuffed into a bottle and used as her new hair dye. The clouds of the nebula still shifted, as if it was alive, with the slight movements of Astra's head.
The twinkling lights of her eyes expanded and grew in size, until her eyes became two pure white stars roaring silently in her eye sockets, surrounded by the infinite void of space that was being framed by hair of a purple nebula.
Now that was what he called a real Celestial transformation.
