Demon Sword Sect's Undercover

Chapter 1166: Adding Fuel to the Fire

A Mountain Demon from Yaoguang Mountain jumped out, its true form a mottled giant insect, baring fangs and brandishing claws, babbling wildly, with a thousand-pound mysterious iron halberd in hand. It intentionally flew to the front of the Sea Clan's formation, swaggering and flaunting, even swinging its weapon back and forth, exceedingly arrogant.

An indignant Blue Halberd Whale Demon could not endure it any longer, waving an iron halberd and charging forward. Amidst the thunderous cheers from both sides, they clashed ferociously.

The halberd swung, the roars of the tiger and the cries of the whale echoed, and for a time the battle was deadlocked... The Demon Clan relishes these head-on confrontations, valuing strength, especially in these battles between themselves, as if martial skills were of utmost importance.

The fight didn't last long before the Tiger Demon used a backhanded stroke. The Blue Halberd Whale, taken off guard and charging too hastily, was cut open by the mysterious iron halberd, spilling its colorful insides all over.

The Mountain Demon contingent cheered loudly, the Tiger Demon basking in its triumph. Nevertheless, the Blue Halberd Whale, showing resilience, stuffed its intestines back, yet was unable to continue fighting.

Such battles unfolded continually, yet the Mountain Demons generally held the upper hand. This was a combination of numerical and psychological superiority. In terms of combat ability, Mountain Demons often proved more skilled, a reality closely tied to their environment.

After a few consecutive victories, the Mountain Demons' confidence surged. They unconsciously concluded that these demons from the sea were inherently weaker than their land-dwelling counterparts, questioning why the Sea Demon Clan of Lihai was annihilated to begin with?

This mindset naturally extended to the Sky End Ocean's Sea Clan, and even further to the distant Western Sea Wing Clan. With past victories and recent successes, the Mountain Demons grew increasingly arrogant.

An Ape Demon wielding a purple-golden hammer the size of a small mountain had already defeated two Sea Demons, yearning for more, and turned its gaze towards the relatively silent Winged Demon group,

"Hey, you hatchlings dare claim the Demon Clan's name? Grandpa's here—do any of you have the guts to face me?"

All manner of beings, whether hatched, birthed, wet-born, or transformed.

Wet-born refers to those transforming from moist spots like decayed flesh or damp grass, such as moths and scorpions; transformed are those coming from nothing, like fairies from lotus flowers or the first humans from cosmic events.

Hatched are born from eggshells, like birds, fish, and ants; birthed are humans and most Mountain Demon species.

The Ape Demon's words essentially touted its noble birth akin to humans and looked down on the hatched ones, effectively insulting the Sea Clan and Wing Clan as being cowardly in the crude Demon Clan tongue—these insults were indeed considered quite venomous.

Just as it finished, a vehicle surged out from the Wing Clan's ranks with incredible speed, arriving in an instant. Before the Ape Demon could react, the vehicle's occupant, Nineteen Aunt, pecked swiftly as lightning, creating a hole in the Ape Demon's forehead, piercing its skull, which, under the bird's beak, was as fragile as an eggshell. Red and white flowed out at once, and such an injury was evidently fatal.

Countless Demon Clans nearby burst into chaos; this was the first fatality amid the conflict, unexpectedly suffered by the Mountain Demon side.

Conversely, the Sea Clan and Wing Clan shouted victoriously, everyone applauding this inspiring strike by Hai Dongqing.

Although Nineteen Aunt didn't use any weapon and seemed less imposing, for Wing Clan members, their beaks are intrinsic body parts, like their claws, their most essential body weapons, like the fists of the Mountain Demons.

Thus, in terms of combat essence, there was no fault.

This was precisely a well-considered strike by all three. In such an open setting, jumping too enthusiastically wasn't wise; the key was to stoke the flames at the right moment.

Thus, they initially endured, allowing the Sea Clan and Wing Clan to build up their grievance, naturally leading to a decisive blow. This approach resembles the impulsive, reckless actions the Demon Clan is known for, filling the Wing and Sea Clan with pride, fighting spirit high, while making the Mountain Demons angrier, adding fuel to the fire; truly a brilliant double advantage.

Upon landing the strike, Nineteen Aunt pulled the reins, the vehicle returned to their side, enraging the Mountain Demons who shouted in frustration.

Having suffered casualties, how could the Mountain Demons let it rest?

A Bear came forth, bristling hair like spikes, its body like a small mountain, with a bloodthirsty maw and fan-like paws, charged recklessly.

With Hai Dongqing's prior achievement, the Wing Demons' confidence skyrocketed; they were already renowned for strength on the Jinxiu Continent, proud and aloof, disdainful of such brutes.

A Strix Demon emerged from its ranks, eager to achieve another victory for the Wing Clan, cementing its elite status among Demon Clans.

The Bear, a ferocious beast, and the Strix Demon, a fierce bird, both notoriously hot-tempered kinds, fought without weapons, purely testing bodies along with their divine skills. By then, the battle veered dangerously, no longer a martial contest, but to-the-death combat.

Yet for a Demon Clan gathering, it wasn't alarming; survival of the fittest, the strongest prevail, such is the supreme law in the Demon Beast realm; no one dared interfere lightly, risking public fury.

The Strix Demon moved swiftly as wind, the Bear rampaged unrestrainedly, tumbling and rolling, the fight intense and brutal.

The Strix Demon held a speed advantage, initiating attacks, first employing the Iron Feather Golden Spear skill, shooting three tail feathers like spears, each strike powerful as a thousand pounds; then using its feathers as weapons, turning into a galaxy, although landing hits, none broke the Bear's impregnable defense.

Seemingly clumsy, it had swiftness amidst heaviness, its defensive divine skill reinforced over millennia with pine resin as armor, perfectly melded with its body, viewing the Strix Demon's attacks as mere tickles, achieving no result.

The Bear had two vulnerabilities, the white fur on its chest and the back of its head—the Strix Demon's only possible targets. Realizing its failure to impact, the Strix Demon understood without targeting these it couldn't succeed against this indestructible Bear.

Attacking the chest fur was tough, protected by those many bear paws, leaving only the back of the head.

The Strix Demon resolved after attempts, for though the Wing Demons appeared aloof, they were Demons, with every Demon's deeper traits, merely concealed better. Once the fight grew intense, in a clamorous environment, even the calm can't resist boiling blood and taking risks. Being a hot-headed Wing Demon, could it?

Circling the Bear, it moved so the Bear couldn't defend both front and back, sensed its chance, and suddenly used a typical Wing Demon skill, Short-distance Instantaneous Movement, appearing behind the Bear, striking fiercely with iron claws at its neck.

The Bear had mighty paws, but the Strix Demon's iron claws could shred metal and crack stone!
