"Ugh… my head." Max groaned as his eyes slowly fluttered open. Through his blurry vision, he could make out that he was back in his room, tucked into his own bed. The familiar smell, the faint light from the window, everything confirmed it.

"You awake!" A voice suddenly shouted, making Max jerk his head in that direction. Jim sat in front of the bed while Jake was lying on the other one. The moment he heard the shout, he rushed forward with wide eyes.

Sigh.

"How long was I out for?" Max asked as he pushed the blanket away and rose to sit up, his fingers pressing against his temples as a dull ache throbbed in his skull.

"Five days," Jim replied casually.

Max froze. His widened eyes slowly lifted to meet Jim's face. "Five days? I have been out for five days? The fuck?!"

"It was a given," Jake said with a slight scoff. "You endured a brutal beating from that demon, went through some kind of painful transformation or whatever that was, and put a ridiculous strain on your body. Honestly, you're lucky to even be awake. You needed that rest."

"Your hybrid form… how is it? I remember the demon slicing the extra limbs off." Max asked, genuine concern in his tone as he glanced at Jake.

"It's fine now. After resting for a few days, everything regrew. So yeah, we all needed the rest." The B rank hunter stretched lazily.

Max exhaled as everything came crashing back into his mind, especially the moment of his evolution.

'And now, the girls know what I am, huh?' he thought while rubbing his temples again.

"The girls… how did they take the revelation of what I am?" he asked quietly.

"Lana didn't care at all. She said, and I quote, 'as long as he is powerful enough to help on missions, I don't give a fuck even if he was a vampire.'" Jim replied, chuckling slightly.

"And Jasmine and Daki?" Max pressed.

"Well, Daki is preoccupied with something. I don't know what exactly, but she shrugged the entire conversation off. Jasmine, on the other hand, is still fascinated. She keeps coming in here to check on you, and you might want to hide those. It's been a hassle stopping her from touching your scales and claws." Jake sighed.

Max looked down and realized his scales, claws, and even the tips of his horns were exposed. He quickly covered them with his skill and froze when something popped up.

'Huh?'

[Draconic Talent Altered]

[Draconic Form >>> Mirage]

'Why did it change?' Max questioned inwardly, suddenly remembering he hadn't even checked his rewards yet.

"It changed because now, whenever you want to unleash your Draconic features, you will use the skill 'Draconic Form.' But if you want to switch your face to Damian, you use 'Mirage.' I think the system separated them to make transforming into your dragon hybrid form easier." Pix explained.

Max watched as his scales faded, his horns disappeared, and his body returned completely human.

"Max? You good?" Jim asked, leaning forward slightly.

"Can you people just leave me for a few minutes? I want to check something. You can hang around or talk if you want, I just… need to rest a bit more. My head feels heavy." Max muttered before lying back down and pulling the blanket over himself.

Jake raised a brow. "What's wrong with him?"

Jim just shrugged.

'Okay… now my rewards. Show me everything.' Max called out inwardly.

[Rewards: +2 new skills; fire ability evolved; +1 new fire skill.]

'Sweet. I've already checked the stats and XP increase, so I need to focus on my skills now. Show me the two new skills,' he called out in his mind.

[Skill name: Flight]

[Description: This skill will allow host make use of his dragon wings effectively, allowing him to soar in the skies as he so pleases.]

'Okay, okay. Next!' Max urged impatiently.

[Draconic Ritual]

'Huh? Draconic Ritual? What the hell is this?'

[Skill: Draconic Ritual]

[Description: This ability will allow the host to activate a ritual that, when completed, can allow host turn a human into his Draconic subordinate. Meaning they would be granted a class and rank under him.]

[Limitations: Host can currently only turn three willing humans. Pool would increase as host grows stronger.]

[Family: 0/3]

'What the hell? Pix, are you seeing what I'm seeing?' Max asked, completely stunned, his jaw practically dropping as he stared at the glowing screen before him.

"I'm also shocked. With this, you can turn any human into a dragon? And they will be given a class beneath you? Yo, this is insane! You won't even need to rely on hybrid serums to get people as strong as hybrids, maybe even stronger, under your command," Pix shouted excitedly in his mind, practically buzzing. Max's thoughts spiraled as he tried to imagine who he could possibly choose first.

'Calm down. Let me check my other rewards before I start overthinking this,' he muttered inwardly, forcing himself to breathe slowly.

Tring!

[Fire Ability Evolved]

{Fire Ability}

{Description: As a Dragon Hybrid, host is now able to fully control the fire element. He can resist any flame-related attacks and command fire as a true dragon blood should.}

'Let me see.'

[Fire Skills]

{Fireball (Second stage): This skill allows host to cast a fireball toward his foe. Each fireball has the strength to burn an opponent badly. Flesh can peel off, but it will not kill them yet as the attack isn't strong enough.}

{Fire Wall: This skill allows host to cast a wall of flames to block any attack headed his way. It serves as a defense that can block any attack as long as it isn't overwhelmingly strong. It can also disintegrate medium-level attacks sent host's way. Note! Skill can only be used six times a day.}

[Flame Breath: This allows host, in his dragon hybrid form, to breathe out flames that can disintegrate anything, be it humans or objects, as long as they are weaker.]

Max exhaled softly. 'Okay, that's nice. Stronger defense, stronger offense. Now, let's finish this.'

He opened his stat window once more, eyes focused. The excitement welled in his chest as he clenched his fist under the blanket.

'Time to allocate my free stat points. Time to grow stronger.'
