The Investiture: Unlimited Blade Works Nezha

Chapter 480: Intimidation (Part 2)

The Demon Ancestor wanted to cultivate his own desires into entities to assist him, ultimately achieving a harmonious fusion to break through the Chaos Origin.

With Nezha's current comprehension and cultivation, he quickly understood the Demon Ancestor's idea. The method was not bad, but it couldn't compare to the Three Corpses Cutting Method because Luo Hou was defeated by Hong Jun.

Nezha completed the last piece of the puzzle regarding how to break through to the Chaos Origin while maintaining his self-awareness.

First, one must 'nurture' — cultivate one's emotions to make them more abundant. Then 'divide' — after excessive emotions separate from oneself, one still maintains a normal self. Finally, 'cut' — let the avatar with a single emotion, more aligned with the Heavenly Dao, carry out the cultivation that could erode humanity.

Finally, 'merge' — the avatar, having been worn down of most emotions, merges with oneself, minimally affecting Nezha's disposition, while providing the foundation and cultivation needed to impact the Chaos Origin.

This was the method he summarized.

It sounds like an unnecessary complication, and upon reflection, it indeed seems somewhat redundant. Hong Jun's Three Corpses Cutting Method only requires cutting and merging; there isn't a need for nurturing and dividing.

But given Nezha's high standards for himself, do you think Nezha wouldn't want to use martial strength to assert the Righteous Dao? It's just not possible.

His foundation, though enhanced, ultimately has its limits.

Do you think everyone is like Pangu, born in Chaos, fearing the fierce bullying by the Chaos Demon Gods?

With no other choice, retaliating with an axe to split three thousand Demon Gods.

If Nezha had such a foundation, he wouldn't need to be running errands for Old Deng every day, contemplating how to prove the Chaos Origin.

If anyone dared give him a mission, he would cut them down with one axe, and they wouldn't see the next life.

It's nothing more than being forced by circumstances!

Nezha settled in the starry sky in peace, but it was not so quiet outside.

Zhen Yuanzi, who entrusted Nezha with a wisp of purple energy, also "recovered" memories from long ago. He wasn't particularly surprised, but other immortals were quite bewildered, unable to calculate a complete growth process for Nezha after much effort.

They couldn't deduce a way to stop the subsequent events, but they weren't fools. Following the principle that whatever the enemy wants to do, they should oppose, they quickly turned their attention to the matter of obtaining the sutras.

Even though they couldn't understand what the pursuit of the sutras had to do with Nezha's potential Saint ascension, they decided opposing it was right!

Poor Brother Monkey was still trapped under the Five-finger Mountain, unwittingly about to be subjected to increased pressure.

Nezha continued to cultivate in the starry sky. The rest of the Primordial beings were so intimidated by Nezha's previous show of strength that they dared not stir; even the Nether River, shot once yet still alive, knew they wouldn't be so fortunate if caught by Nezha.

So the entire Cultivation World fell into an eerie calm.

The immortals caused no disturbances, while the mortal world saw increased turbulence. Since the fall of the Great Tang, Jiuzhou had been divided into war-torn territories. Although several strong rulers emerged one after another, none could unite Huaxia again.

Back when Nezha returned to the Primordial world, the Ziwei Emperor Star shone, and even the Li Family, separated from Nezha by who knows how many generations, gained a sliver of Emperor's Energy.

A patriarch from an unknown branch of the Li Family, Li Yuan, gave birth to his second son, coincidentally acquiring the Yanzhou Tripod the same year.

Li Yuan did not, upon obtaining this Human Clan divine artifact, believe the Heavenly Mandate was upon him. Instead, he followed the practices of a certain immortal Li family ancestor, storing grain and biding time before claiming kingship.

Time proved his ideas correct. Everything turned prosperous after his second son was born, with two more sons following, named Li Yuanji and Li Yuanba.

His youngest son, born with divine power, exceeded ordinary people, which reminded Li Yuan of tales of an ancestor named Yuanba, a Li who single-handedly overthrew a city as a "ten thousand enemy." Thus, he named his youngest son after this ancestor. (Chapter 134: Nezha's Incarnation)

Li Yuanba indeed did not disappoint, although his intelligence was childlike, his ferocity was immense.

After his four sons matured, he was emboldened and, encouraged by his second son Li Shimin, the Li family embarked on the path of conquest.

The Li family basked in the glow of Nezha's Emperor's Energy, soaring to great heights as if divinely aided. Li Yuan safeguarded one territory, and his four sons, paired in duos, were unstoppable.

However, advantages had disadvantages, like with the fourth son Li Yuanba. Why did Li Yuan choose such a name? Nezha's status wasn't something a mere mortal could bear; even if Nezha didn't care or know about this matter, being merely an incarnation, fate had its own directions.

Li Yuanba was indeed invincible, but during one battle, a surprise Heavenly Thunder struck him down, killing him on the spot.

It can only be said that if one's luck isn't solid enough, they shouldn't venture too close.

Li Yuan's rebellion saw the first loss of a son, and while heartbroken, it didn't halt his quest for greater dominion.

...

Meanwhile, Nezha was at the Banana Cave on Cuiyun Mountain with Princess Iron Fan, discussing Red Boy's education issue. Nezha had been away for three hundred years — not long for immortals but, to Red Boy, felt like his father abandoned him and his mother.

No matter how much Princess Iron Fan explained, Red Boy wouldn't listen. Clearly entering a rebellious phase, though unusually prolonged, Red Boy had already moved out of the Banana Cave, taking a group of little demons to become a Great King.

Nezha found this distressing; he couldn't find a way to handle the child's education. Normally he could resort to force, but now, being the one in the wrong, he couldn't just punish Red Boy.

After long contemplation, Nezha thought of a solution — sending Red Boy to school. If he couldn't teach him, he would send him to a place where the responsibility wasn't his, as long as the teacher chosen was reliable.

While looking for candidates, the best option appeared: South Sea Guanyin.

Over in Lingshan, Old Li had already entrusted the matters relating to acquiring the sutras to Guanyin, whom he favored greatly. Guanyin was also very concerned about the affairs of Shi Hou, and came to discuss with Nezha about the details of obtaining the sutras.

After reassuring Princess Iron Fan with promises of finding a good teacher for Red Boy, she finally relaxed.

Nezha left Cuiyun Mountain as Guanyin had already been waiting there.

"Long time no see, senior sister."

Guanyin nodded before asking, "Have you made arrangements for the sutra mission?"

Nezha didn't quite understand; of course, the sutra mission had to be handled properly, but he hadn't prepared any script since he owed no cause and effect to the West. Even if the matter failed, it wouldn't affect Nezha significantly.

Seeing Nezha's expression, Guanyin set a barrier around them and said, "Rumors outside say the sutra mission is related to your path to Saint ascension. I've heard whispers; many intend to use this opportunity to obstruct you."

Nezha was genuinely confused. What did his potential Saint ascension have to do with the sutra mission?

"Who told you this?"

Nezha's question left Guanyin stumped; it was the kind of thing people conceptualized inwardly but rarely voiced. When pressed, Guanyin couldn't pinpoint a source.

Guanyin found relief in Nezha's calmness. Given so many watched covertly, and Nezha, not yet a Saint, who knew what unforeseen difficulties might arise.

Not dwelling on it, Guanyin discussed with Nezha the personnel chosen, including Jin Can Zi's reincarnation, the Stone Monkey Sun Wukong, former General Juanlian Old Sha, and former Marshal of the Heavenly Canopy Zhu Wuneng.

Nezha nodded; these were the right choices!

But why had the Little White Dragon not been mentioned?

He calculated briefly and grasped Ao Lie's entire aura; evidently, having sworn an oath to Nezha, he was destined to be Jin Can Zi's steed.

"One more person is needed."

Guanyin pondered for a moment, and with a pinch of her fingers calculated the last person: Jin Can Zi still lacked a steed, at which she shook her head with a smile, having forgotten this detail.

The two discussed additional details, agreeing that while the sutra mission needed a script, not everything could follow the script; a fine balance had to be maintained.
