The Investiture: Unlimited Blade Works Nezha

Chapter 475: If Only I Had More Wealth (Part 2)

Take another look, does this not look like the future Oxhead and Horseface?

Good kids, you two really know how to talk.

"I want to see the Great Ancestor Witch."

The two 'big men' abruptly stopped, scratching their heads as they considered themselves the strongest warriors within a thousand miles for those under a thousand years old, yet they had never had the opportunity to meet the Great Ancestor Witch. How could this young kid speak so boldly? Yet, recalling their own audacious words in youth, they felt this might be another fearless child.

"Hahaha, you little rascal, when you grow up to be a strong enough warrior, you'll naturally get the chance to meet the Great Ancestor Witch."

"You still have twenty thousand more to grow!"

The aura of the Witch Clan on Nezha was quite strong, so the two 'big men' had no doubts about Nezha's identity, only doubting his age. In the minds of the Witch Clan, there was still that simple belief that big equals strong.

The bigger the muscles, the stronger you are.

Nezha was very familiar with the Witch Clan, understanding that the best way to convince them was through strength. He casually grabbed the wrists of the two 'big men' and gave a light toss, sending them flying thirty meters, plowing a long groove in the ground before landing.

Normally, a child treated like this would be seriously injured, but not so with the Witch Clan. The two 'big men' clambered up, embarrassed but excited, with faces red with excitement, shouting, "It was a sneak attack, doesn't count! Let's go again!"

"This time, we won't underestimate you!"

With that, they roared and charged, but blinked, finding themselves under Nezha's feet.

They were a bit confused as to how they ended up on the ground, but recognized that the person in front of them was stronger, and that was enough.

"Little brother, which tribe are you from? How are you so strong at such a young age?"

"I understand now, you must have started training from your mother's womb!"

Nezha: ...

You can drop the "little brother," honestly. Call me brother if you must, but why hang onto those words? And were these two so infuriating as kids?

With a kick each, the two instantly calmed down. In the Witch Clan, strength is everything. Even if all you are is a placenta, if you can intimidate two people, they'll listen to you.

Following Oxhead and Horseface to their village, Nezha met the village chief. Unlike in the Pangu Realm, where the elder is respected, here the strongest is respected.

Strength is status.

The elder glanced over Nezha. His insights were far more developed.

"You're from the Houtu Tribe?"

Nezha looked at the giant child beside the giant man. The giant man laughed heartily and said affectionately, "This is my son who just turned eighteen. You should be around the same age, correct?"

Indeed, they seemed about the same age. Nezha's typical form was about 1.7 meters tall, while the village chief's son was nearly two meters tall, making the word 'infant' hard to associate with his dark muscles.

The bloodlines in the Witch Clan of this era were purer, far surpassing later generations.

"I want to see the Great Ancestor Witch."

The giant man paused, then burst into laughter, his voice booming.

"That's great, very spirited!"

With that, he kicked his son to the side.

"You want to see the Great Ancestor Witch? Then you'll have to get past me first!"

The giant baby, knocked down, began to wail and tried to awaken his father's paternal instinct, but to no avail.

The village chief disdainfully said to his crying son, "All you do is cry. Look at others so filled with ambition at this age. Where do you show even a bit of my attitude? Are you even my seed?"

The 'infant's' cries quickly caught the attention of another in the cave, a graceful woman over three meters tall with more defined features. She picked up the baby and began scolding.

"How did I end up with a man like you? Always bullying our son. Why not surpass the neighboring village chief in hunting prowess?"

"Always all talk, I really hit the jackpot marrying you. I'd be better off in the Zhurong Tribe; at least they're real men there."

The village chief, scolded by his wife, tried to keep some dignity, but the woman was unfazed, and the rest of the village wasn't surprised either.

The village chief was evidently henpecked.

After much groveling, he calmed the woman down and brought up Nezha's matter. The woman looked at Nezha appreciatively.

"Kiddo, you're amazing. When you grow up, come to aunty, and I'll find you the fiercest woman in miles!"

Nezha's mouth twitched slightly. Thank you, kind-hearted soul!

Oxhead and Horseface didn't take to this well, one wrapping around each of the woman's robust legs, pleading, "No, aunty, didn't you say you'd find us the fiercest woman?"

The woman was clearly kind to 'children,' picking up each of them in one hand, reassuringly saying, "Look at you weaklings, go train more, otherwise I can't introduce you to anyone!"

Oxhead and Horseface were comforted, touched, "Aunty, you're the best!"

Nezha had always considered Oxhead and Horseface a bit unorthodox in their thinking, but among the Witch Clan, they were quite normal.

The news of Nezha wanting to see the Great Ancestor Witch spread through the village, and the duel between Nezha and the village chief was eagerly anticipated. The Witch Clan loved to witness battles, and excitement was buzzing.

"Little one, I'll let you make two moves, you go first!"

Nezha rolled his eyes, lunged forward, and threw a straight punch. The village chief rolled his eyes and fell back, the bodies of the Witch Clan were durable, but once knocked out, they'd just sleep.

Nezha had already toned down his punch the strength of three Beiming Seas, or else the village chief's wife would be preparing to remarry.

The others felt no regret at Nezha knocking out their village chief with one punch. Instead, they were thrilled, excited by Nezha's extraordinary power — that's the Witch Clan for you.

After clearing the village chief's challenge, there were still bosses to face, a sequence Nezha was very familiar with from the Pangu Realm. The villagers were very enthusiastic, and when leaving, the village chief's wife made a point of reminding Nezha to consider coming by once he grew up; she'd introduce her niece to him.

Nezha was indifferent, but Oxhead and Horseface were understandably envious. The two brothers were quite keen on the village chief aunt's niece!

They took Nezha deeper into the Witch Clan territory, eventually arriving at the Great Witch Tribe near the observatory, an area under the jurisdiction of the Great Witch Nine Phoenix.

Nine Phoenix was the sister of the Thunder Ancestor Witch Qiangliang, born together, yet Qiangliang absorbed most of the Pangu Essence Blood. Thus, she wasn't considered an Ancestor Witch but was nonetheless far stronger than ordinary Great Witches.

When Nezha heard the name Nine Phoenix, he had a suspicion; this surely involved the Phoenix Clan's influence. Unlike the other Twelve Ancestor Witches standing alone, why did Qiangliang have a twin?

Moreover, thunder inherently matched the Dragon Clan's traits. But now that was occupied by the Phoenix Clan, turning them into old foes.

Another one hard to disentangle from the Dragon Clan was the Second Ancestor Witch Zhu Jiuyin. Though the Dragon and Phoenix Clans exited the stage, their shadows lingered over the Primordial for generations.

The Dragon and Phoenix Clans sought to leverage their rise through the forceful rise of the Witch Clan to spread Qi Fortune, boosting their withered Qi Fortune. Not just with the Witch Clan, the Demon Clan also bore traces of both.

For instance, Demon Saint Ji Meng and Jiuying had close ties with the Dragon Clan, Shanyang and Qinyuan hailed from the Phoenix Clan, and Bai Ze, Ci Tie, and the Qilin Clan shared histories.

Only they probably didn't foresee that both the formidable Witch and Demon Ancestors would eventually bow out of the grand Primordial stage.

About the Qilin Clan's involvement within the Witch Clan, Nezha wasn't certain. All he knew was that Ancestor Qilin had always shared good relations with the Great Virtue Earth Queen, Lady Houtu.

Arriving at the tribe of the Great Witch Nine Phoenix, Nine Phoenix was at home. Compared to other Witch Clan tribes, the Nine Phoenix Tribe was more organized and friendly to birds.

Nine Phoenix herself was unlike ordinary Witch Clan women, featuring fairer skin, a more slender and graceful frame, and sharper, more spirited eyes.

Qiangliang Ancestor Witch always felt guilty for seizing his sister's Pangu Essence Blood, resulting in her current state and thus doted on Nine Phoenix greatly. Within the Qiangliang Tribe, the true leader was not so much Ancestor Witch Qiangliang as the Great Witch Nine Phoenix.
