Aqua
Without hesitation, I move down towards the creature's eyes before activating Light of the Abyss again. Shining it directly into all of its open eyes and making the thing let out another loud screeching roar of pain.
Then I rush straight into the entrance I made previously into its body. The one where I dug into its eye.
And when I do, I find the thing completely drained of any blood at this point.
My eyes narrow a little before I continue pushing deeper and deeper inside of its body. But I just can't find what I'm looking for.
So I change things up a bit and close my eyes. Shapeshifting a little to gain the sensory organs of the Abyssal Kraken.
After doing that it doesn't take me long to find what I'm looking for.
Especially when the only vibrations I sense in the massive monster's body are coming from a single direction.
With that in mind, I dig through the boss' body all the way until I break into some large open space in its body. At the center of which I find a large spherical jewel of some sort.
But the moment I enter the large open space, the jewel suddenly pulses with a pitch black light. Then it does again. And again.
And again.
Then I sense a powerful force building up in the jewel.
"Oh, shit…" I mutter before suddenly summoning dozens of Abyssal Kraken tentacles all around me to use as a shield. Following which I hear the sounds of something shattering.
And the instant that sound fills the area, I sense a powerful wave of miasma shooting straight out of the jewel. Immediately slamming into the tentacles defending me all at once.
I brace myself for the impact, only for the miasma to begin annihilating the tentacles one after another. Then it sends me flying straight out of the monster's corpse like a bullet.
Straight through all of its flesh without stopping, even when I hit its exoskeleton and scales.
And midflight I find a System Message appearing in my vision. But the pain flooding my entire body keeps me from looking at it.
I continue flying straight through the water as the miasma floods the entire sea. All the way until it hits my deepsea orcas back at the other cavern. Slaughtering them in the process and making over half the water in the place vanish.
Including the water I'm flying through. Leading to me beginning to arc through the air above the sea as gravity and air resistance begins to slow down my flight. Mostly due to my Bloodline making my movements through water even smoother than through air.
And eventually I find myself falling down towards the water's surface again with miasma filling my body.
I grit my teeth at the pain as purplish black veins spread all across my body. Meanwhile I feel my heartbeats slowing down. Almost like I'm dying.
Or turning undead.
When I finally manage to overcome the pain and shock from the miasma, I summon Abyssal Kraken tentacles to catch myself mid-fall. Drastically decreasing how badly the landing would hurt.
I pant in exhaustion while lying on my back on the bed of tentacles I made to catch me. But the pain doesn't go away. Because I'm still in a miasma filled air, even if the miasma is finally starting to slow down in its increase.
Implying that the jewel is finally finished shattering and releasing the miasma.
[HOLY SHIT, THAT'S A LOT OF MIASMA!]
[What the hell…]
[I wasn't expecting that.]
[What just happened?]
[Is Aqua okay?]
I ignore the chat for now as I slowly lower myself down towards the water. Using one tentacle after another to drop myself into the water again.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Then I go ahead and summon over a hundred abyssal servants and have them soak up the miasma bit by bit. Clearing it all out and finally letting me sigh in relief as I feel the miasma in my own body stop increasing.
At which point the miasma slowly begins to decrease and leave my body.
Almost like my body is expelling it all.
Which shouldn't technically happen. Considering that miasma is known to be attracted to the living.
It's the anti-living, in a sense.
Miasma is generated by the undead, and is attracted to the living in order to turn the living into the undead.
So there's nothing living in existence that should be able to just expel miasma.
Yet I can clearly tell I'm not undead. For numerous reasons, only one of which being that the miasma hurt me and was trying to turn me before my body started expelling it.
Still.
Just what is the Abyssal Kraken, anyway?
I lie back thinking about that question for a little while as the miasma is expelled from my body and the abyssal servants clean up whatever miasma is left. Seeing as they don't seem to be affected by it much either.
But eventually my thoughts are halted when I feel the dungeon beginning to tremble. Clearly signifying the end of the dungeon itself.
So I finally take the time to look at my System Messages.
It'll still take a few minutes at the very least before the dungeon falls apart, but it's best to do it now.
Plus I want to see what I got.

[Congratulations! You have defeated the boss of a Special Dungeon! Select this message in order to claim your Special Core!]
A smile crosses my face at the sight of that last message. So I go ahead and focus on the message, following which a pitch black orb appears from a screen. Just like with the Sponsorship items.
And as usual with cores, I grab it and crush the thing.
Making another System Message appear in my vision.
One that makes my eyes widen in surprise.
Pleasant surprise.
Huh. That wasn't what I was expecting, but I'm very much okay with it.
