The Lich of Glory Knight Spirit: Moving towards Krimasha!

Chapter 27: The Demon’s Mission (Part 3)_2

After closing her eyes for a while, Cornelia finally caught her breath and said, "There's a quality issue. One batch of Mordor stones has a quality problem."

Dariana quickly stepped forward, picked up one of the stones, and slowly infused it with Magic Power. Soon, the stone glowed blue.

"No problem at all..."

"That's because you don't feel the problem now. If you test continuously, you'll soon discover it."

"What do you mean?" Dariana looked confused.

"It's like..." Cornelia, holding her forehead, spoke with frustration, "It means these stones might fail. Just might, not necessarily fail. And you can't even tell when they'll fail. They might even explode. You know, these are used to make weapons. If they fail at a crucial moment or explode, injuring the holder, it would be terrifying. To thoroughly test whether a stone has a problem, it requires continuous testing for up to a week."

Dariana froze for a while before saying quietly, "We never encountered such an issue before..."

"Yes, this is a new problem we've never faced. It was only discovered after this batch was delivered to Giant Snake City. They spent a long time testing over five thousand stones and finally concluded that only three hundred from one specific batch had issues. The stones in that batch all came from one mining area. Out of a thousand, not every stone had a problem. The conclusion from the magic tower was that these stones were affected by some degree of dark force pollution."

"Which mining area?" Dariana hurriedly asked.

"Zone C9," Cornelia replied.

Zone C9, that's the area Angel visited.

...

At this moment, inside the tree hollow in the developing area of the Magic Academy.

"The whole mining area is ruined?"

"Yes," the Frog Demon nodded with a smile, "You did a really good job, can you tell me how you did it?"

Angel did not answer directly, instead, he bowed his head slightly, squinting as he thought for a moment, then looked up and asked, "Can you be more specific? I want to know why the whole mining area is ruined."

Looking at Angel, the Frog Demon licked its lips and said with a mischievous grin, "Because it's unstable, the stones produced are very unstable. Unstable, even dangerous stones are useless. To identify them requires a lot of manpower, might as well open a new mining area. Tell me how you did it."

"I..." Angel slightly opened his mouth, thought about it, and smiled before changing his question, "Can you tell me what my reward is? Since it's so effective, shouldn't I get a reward?"

Immediately, the Frog Demon was stunned. It stepped around Angel step by step, its eyes scanning Angel up and down.

Angel stood quietly, unmoving. He did not even shift his eyes, only maintaining a smile.

Time ticked away, and Angel's forehead began to break out in cold sweat.

In terms of height, the Frog Demon was almost twice as tall as Angel. In terms of size, the Frog Demon was at least twenty times bigger than Angel.

Being stared at by such a huge creature up close, it was impossible to say there was no pressure, not to mention the absolute suppression of his Magic Power.

After circling several times, the Frog Demon softly asked, "Are you negotiating with me?"

"I don't mean that," Angel replied expressionlessly.

"But that's what I see. I asked you twice how you did it, and your response was to ask me what your reward would be. This is not something a good servant should do."

"Is that so?" Angel, now sweating profusely, forced a smile and said, "I don't know whether, in your eyes, someone who accomplishes nothing but obeys your orders is better, or a Demon Envoy who gets things done, but may have small issues is better?"

The Frog Demon stopped in front of Angel, quietly lowering its gaze towards him.

Angel's heart pounded wildly, he could even feel the veins bulging on his forehead.

With wide eyes, he maintained his smile, looking at the Frog Demon.

The Frog Demon's ugly face moved close to Angel, slowly exhaling a foul odor.

Angel immediately held his breath, yet still made no move, persistently locking eyes with those eyes larger than his head.

"I like a Demon Envoy who can accomplish great deeds," after a while, the Frog Demon said with a grin, "I won't accept useless Demon Envoys. To tell you the truth, I've eaten five Demon Envoys among my subordinates, from various races. Before receiving this news, I was ready to come and eat you, as well. A Blood Elf bound by a Demon Envoy pact is not protected by the contract."

"And now?" Angel's body couldn't help but tremble. Large beads of sweat slid down his prominent nose bit by bit.

"Now I've changed my mind," raising his head again, the Frog Demon looked at the top of the tree hole, exhaled, and said, "I think you might be a quite decent Demon Envoy, I can expect a bit, not in a hurry to eat you. Now, tell me how you did it."

"No, precisely because of that, I won't tell you now."

Almost without warning, the Frog Demon made a move. With a webbed hand, it grasped Angel's neck, lifting him up completely: "What did you say?"

A simple query, not a roar, yet it carried mental Magic. Instantly, Angel felt the scene before his eyes blur.

"Are you trying to refuse your master's demand?"

Another mental Magic strike came over. Angel felt he couldn't breathe, desperately grasping the Frog Demon's hand in struggle. However, how could he break free?

"Answer me!"

Angel felt his consciousness starting to blur. He struggled incessantly but still clenched his teeth without saying anything.

Finally, just before Angel completely lost consciousness, the Frog Demon threw Angel to the ground, then silently watched him.

The Fireball suspended in the air flickered slightly, casting intertwined light and shadow in the not-too-large tree hole space.

Angel lay on the ground, gasping heavily.

Time ticked away, second by second.

After a long while, the Frog Demon crouched down halfway, softly asking, "Have you recovered?"

Angel opened his eyes weakly, locking eyes with the Frog Demon.

"Tell me how you did it, and I'll give you a potion," glancing at the badge of eight-level Magic Power on Angel's chest, the Frog Demon continued, "A potion that can instantly elevate you to ten-level Magic Power, maybe eleven. It depends on how much you've accumulated now."

With slightly blurry eyes, Angel nodded slightly before speaking, "Inject the potion directly into the roots. The roots of the Divine Wood."

"Directly into the roots?" the Frog Demon squinted its eyes halfway.

"Yes. Mordor stones are produced based on the Divine Wood, so they must be connected to the roots of the Divine Wood."

The Frog Demon looked at Angel with disbelief, "How did you think of that?"

"I researched Mordor stones. These are Luo Ge Xian Ni's specialties, surely the information about Mordor stones in hell isn't as rich as in the Divine Wood Library?" Angel lay on the ground, gasping heavily and continued, "Actually, I wasn't sure either, just wanted to give it a shot. Anyway, it's better than destroying only ten Mordor stones, right?"

"You infiltrated the mining area?"

"Yes."

"Okay, that's valuable information, worth something. Here's your ten-level Magic Power." Saying this, the Frog Demon stretched out its hand. A flash of black light, and a bottle of black potion quickly appeared in its palm.

After tossing the potion to Angel, the Frog Demon licked its lips and said with a smile, "It seems you desire some more challenging tasks, huh? No problem, I'll arrange it for you."
