Luo Zhijun knew well that Lin Hao was currently riding high in Wucheng County, so for Lin Hao, taking someone down was a simple matter of words.

However, if he confessed, wouldn't that confirm he framed Lin Hao and Li Jingyi? Would Li Jingyi let him off?

"Take me down if you must, but I have no idea about any poisoning, you must be mistaken," Luo Zhijun stubbornly insisted.

"I really won't be implicated?" Luo Zhijun now only wanted to keep himself safe.

"Of course, I keep my word." Lin Hao nodded.

"And you also have to find a way to transfer me back to the city," Luo Zhijun added.

"Okay," Lin Hao nodded again.

Luo Zhijun's nose and eyebrows scrunched up, seemingly still torn about whether to speak out.

Lin Hao gave a faint smile and said, "Even if you don't say it, I can guess. Was it Shen Sihai who ordered you to poison me?"

"You... you know?" Luo Zhijun was taken aback.

"Who is this high officer from the city council?" Lin Hao pressed on.

"He's the Director of the Municipal Education Bureau. It was said he noticed Su Muyun during a work inspection, so we exerted all kinds of pressure for you two to divorce," Luo Zhijun finally spilled everything.

There wasn't much memory in Lin Hao's mind of this Director of the Municipal Education Bureau; he figured he could only ask Zhou Chenghua about the situation.

Zhou Chenghua, the Director of the Education Bureau, should be well acquainted with the leadership of the Municipal Bureau. However, now he had jumped out of the education system and, under Lin Hao's direction, became Deputy County Head, opening up a channel for advancement.

One needs a good channel for advancement in politics, otherwise, without an open path ahead, there's no significant goal to strive for.

Everything became evident, and it turned out to be Luo Zhijun's ploy that served two purposes—satisfying the attempt by Shen Sihai and others to frame Secretary Li, while also accomplishing the goal of tarnishing Lin Hao's name, forcing him into a divorce.
