Jiang Chen pondered. When his Primal Energy Field was amplified a hundredfold, Asa had been unaffected, as if nothing had happened. This was the effect of negating abnormal states.
The other ordinary members of the Underworld Clan, subjected to a hundred times normal gravity, could only lie prostrate on the ground, completely deprived of their fighting strength.
Jiang Chen didn't even need to activate his Primal Energy Field to eliminate ordinary members of the Underworld Clan; he could slay them easily. So, the Primal Energy Field, while seemingly powerful, actually served no real purpose for him.
Of course, it did have one use: forcing them to lie on the ground, waiting for the executioner's blade to fall.
Harvey Franklin said, "In the future, when you encounter special Class holders, you must be careful. They tailor their equipment to their Class characteristics. Take the powerful members of the Underworld Clan, for example. And don't assume that the Son of God you killed from the Difiled God Camp was particularly strong. That was merely an ordinary Son of God, not a truly powerful one."
"Just like them," Harvey Franklin added, glancing at the dispirited Sons of God nearby.
Harvey Franklin continued, "Among them, the only one I see promise in is Christie Burton. This fellow recruited a group of Wanderers and learned a great deal from them. As for the others, they're all trash."
Jiang Chen's eyes widened. Goodness, does he dare to call them trash in public? Watch out—I'll report him.
The group found a plain to set up camp and waited for a response from the Alliance of All-Gods.
「Soon.」
The upper echelons of the Alliance of All-Gods dispatched a five-person squad: two men and three women.
Jiang Chen didn't even see their faces, nor did he know what Classes they held. However, he sensed a different power emanating from one of them—an aura of darkness.
It's very likely an expert from the Evil God's side. Is the Alliance of All-Gods out of people? Did they have to find an expert from the Evil God's side?
「Night fell...」
Atop the mountain, Christie Burton, Aggie, and Jiang Chen stood on a high point. Christie Burton, holding a wine glass, laughed and said, "This battle won't be easy!"
"Hasn't the Alliance of All-Gods fielded an expert?" Jiang Chen asked.
"They are all secretly trained experts, not the kind ordinary people can handle," Christie replied.
Aggie said, "There is one woman among them who is different; she seems to be a Hero from the Difiled God Camp."
Jiang Chen looked at Aggie; he had noticed it too.
Christie Burton seemed unconcerned. "That's normal. Experts from the other side often appear among us. Her identity is a secret; only the higher-ups know who she is."
"You don't know?" Jiang Chen asked.
"I don't know. Although we are Sons of God, we're not part of the Alliance's upper ranks. It's not just our side; even the Difiled God Camp has experts from our faction operating within it."
Jiang Chen asked, "What if her identity is discovered?"
"If her identity is discovered, her Badge will become ineffective, and she'll revert to being an ordinary person. Few people betray their own camp, but there are exceptions. Such individuals use code names instead of real names and never show their true faces."
Can things really work this way? Jiang Chen wondered.
Just then, a dark shadow emerged from the Alliance's camp, swiftly flying toward the Underworld Clan's position.
Jiang Chen watched the shadow.
He smiled. "It seems she's ready to make her move."
"Who?" Christie and Aggie asked in unison.
They followed Jiang Chen's gaze but saw nothing. They turned back, looking at Jiang Chen in perplexity.
Jiang Chen's eyes widened. Didn't you see that dark shadow? She's brazenly heading to the front lines! How could you miss such a large shadow?
At that moment, the shadow halted its advance, looked toward Jiang Chen on the mountain, then changed direction, flying towards him.
In that instant, Jiang Chen, as if in a daze, understood something!
He decided to pretend he was admiring the moon.
Jiang Chen gave an awkward smile. "The moon is really beautiful tonight, isn't it?"
Christie Burton looked at the sky, completely confused.
Aggie felt the same. Beautiful? I don't see it!
Just then, the shadow appeared before Jiang Chen. He pretended not to see it, focusing intently on the moon.
Keep moving, keep moving... Ghost Blade active, I'm invisible...
Jiang Chen waved his hand, his arm passing right through the shadow as if it weren't there. The shadow remained silent for a moment, then turned and departed, heading towards the Underworld Clan's camp.
Jiang Chen breathed a sigh of relief.
Incubus. That woman is an Incubus.
That shadow hadn't been in the physical world but was operating within the Dream World. No wonder Christie Burton and Aggie couldn't sense her, while Jiang Chen could.
But even though he could see her, Jiang Chen was powerless. The Incubus, existing within the Dream World, was untouchable by any action Jiang Chen could take. The two didn't exist in the same Space.
The so-called expert was an Incubus, a Super Divine-level Class from the Difiled God Camp.
Jiang Chen didn't understand why he could see her; it was likely because Daphne had granted him some special Skill that allowed him to perceive an Incubus existing in the Dreamspace.
Christie Burton asked, "Jiang Chen, did you see something?"
"No."
"Just now, I sensed your heartbeat was irregular. You can see things we can't, can't you?"
"No, really. My eyes were just playing tricks on me."
Damn it, who'd believe that! Christie thought.
Christie Burton smiled. "Let's go."
「Inside the tent.」
Christie Burton asked Aggie, "What do you think Jiang Chen saw?"
"Not sure. Only he himself knows," Aggie replied.
"Do you think it might have been an Incubus?"
"Why would you ask that?"
"He saw something we didn't. It's either our abilities are lacking—but I'm a Fourth-stage, and you're a Wanderer, so we shouldn't have failed to sense it. That leaves only one possibility: we weren't in the same Space."
"Only if it's in a different Space could we be unable to see it."
"What exactly is the Dream World like?" Aggie wondered.
"It's a dim, gray world, much like our physical world," Christie explained. "Once someone leaves their own Dream World, it's very difficult for them to wake up again. Those people are called the Living Dead."
"So how can he see the Dream World?"
"Not clear. Only he himself knows."
"Should we ask him tomorrow?"
"Let it be. Everyone has their own secrets."
Meanwhile, Jiang Chen was lying in bed, asleep. This was the second Incubus he had encountered; the first was Daphne. He had no idea who this Incubus was that had defected to the Alliance of All-Gods.
Ah, time for bed. What does any of this have to do with me, anyway?
Jiang Chen entered his Dreamspace.
After a while, the familiar scene materialized: the sea, blue sky and white clouds, enormous red swimming trunks, and a sun lounger. It was incredibly comfortable.
Just then, a huge octopus appeared from the depths, extending a tentacle that shot up from the sea's surface, grasping towards Jiang Chen.
Jiang Chen laughed. Damn it. This woman is trying this trick on me?
Jiang Chen then conjured a sword, drew it, and with a single slash, severed several tentacles. "Come out!" he said. "Don't embarrass yourself with such petty tricks in front of me."
"So you really can see me."
Just then, a shadowy figure emerged from the seabed.
Jiang Chen didn't hesitate to confront the woman who had charged in.
"This is my Dreamspace, and you barged in without so much as a greeting. Isn't that a bit much?" Jiang Chen conjured a cigarette and silently lit it.
"It appears you've gained control over your Dreamspace. I've never seen a Dreamspace as stable as this."
