"Alright, it's all up to you then," Zhang Beixing said, casually handing over his phone and the two journalists' cameras.
Reporter Ji quickly took them. Then, under the murderous gazes of the other two journalists, and with a brazen smile, he unhesitatingly deleted the videos they had shot! After finishing, he showed the result to Zhang Beixing, and then pointedly to the two afflicted reporters. It was a calculated move, designed to be a devastating psychological blow!
The two journalists clutched their returned cameras, repeatedly checking them. Their hearts bled with each confirmation that the footage was well and truly gone. Reporter Ji, you're despicable!
Zhang Beixing wasn't bothered by the journalists' scheming and infighting. He was in a great mood only after Reporter Ji returned his phone and he confirmed that the footage of himself shooting the bee had been sent over, noting its excellent and crystal-clear quality. So, he pocketed his phone and agreed to Reporter Ji and the others' request for an interview.
Seeing Zhang Beixing finally nod in agreement, the other two journalists put aside their misery. They quickly unclipped the microphones from their collars and began interviewing Zhang Beixing.
The interview questions were quite typical: "Are you a descendant of Wu Song?" "How did you manage to subdue a fierce tiger all by yourself?" "What were you thinking when you fought the tiger?" "How did you train your marksmanship?" "Which martial arts school do you belong to?" "Earlier, when you were doing Martial Arts Training and shooting bees behind the waterfall, how did you do that?" and so on.
The questions were rather ordinary, and Zhang Beixing answered them one by one.
Having received the answers they wanted, and noticing the sky growing darker, the group of journalists decided not to linger and prepared to depart. They simply exchanged Douyin IDs with Zhang Beixing, mentioning they would @tag him when they published the news. Then, they all hurried down the mountain to rush their news reports.
Standing on the mountain, Zhang Beixing could faintly hear voices. No, not just voices, he realized. It's Reporter Ji arguing with the other two. It seemed Reporter Ji deleting their irretrievable footage had caused a significant fallout. After such a grueling trip, this was their outcome. Although they had eventually interviewed Zhang Beixing, the lack of solid video evidence meant that even if their story gained traction, its popularity would be limited. That's why they were now confronting Reporter Ji. Judging by their angry shouts, their "discussion" hadn't gone well. However, none of this concerned Zhang Beixing anymore.
"Lao Zhang, are you done? If you're done, come on in quickly, the rain's really coming down now!"
Just as Zhang Beixing was on his phone, contemplating how he should edit the video, Lin Siqi's voice came from the tent, pulling him from his thoughts. He looked up at the sky. He saw that as time passed, the sky had grown increasingly gloomy, and the light drizzle had gradually intensified into a downpour. The worsening weather meant his Vital Energy was depleting even faster.
Zhang Beixing had no intention of getting drenched. He responded and hurriedly ran into Lin Siqi's nearby tent to take shelter. He stamped his feet, knocking the mud from his shoes.
Glancing into Lin Siqi's tent, he discovered that while he was being interviewed, Lin Siqi had moved his windproof stove inside. She was now crouched near the tent entrance, starting a fire to boil water. A small ventilation window opposite the entrance allowed the incoming breeze to carry the smoke from the fire out through the tent opening, ensuring proper air circulation and preventing them from being choked by the smoke.
"Have some hot water." Lin Siqi was busy at the windproof stove. Before long, she had boiled a kettle of water, poured some into a small cup, and handed it to Zhang Beixing.
"Thanks, Sister Qi," Zhang Beixing said cheerfully, taking the cup from Lin Siqi and starting to sip eagerly. While drinking, Zhang Beixing looked out at the rain and commented, "I didn't quite understand why you bought such a big tent before. Now, it seems you were truly farsighted, Sister Qi. In this weather, hunkering down inside the tent, sipping hot water while watching the rain—it's truly delightful!"
"That's right!" Hearing Zhang Beixing's praise, Lin Siqi replied with a poker face. She conveniently forgot her earlier embarrassment: discovering she'd mistakenly bought such a massive tent and had to sheepishly ask Zhang Beixing for help setting it up.
Lin Siqi took a sip of hot water, feeling her body warm up. She recalled how Zhang Beixing had essentially strong-armed the cameras from those three journalists, and then even agreed to their interview. Curiosity got the better of her, and she looked at Zhang Beixing, asking, "Speaking of which, Lao Zhang, what did those three journalists ask you?"
"Nothing much. They just asked about me fighting the tiger and why I'm so strong," Zhang Beixing replied simply.
"Oh, I see." Lin Siqi nodded in understanding and then silently held her cup.
Seeing her quiet, Zhang Beixing put his cup on the ground. He opened an editing app on his phone and began importing the video Lin Siqi had filmed of his Martial Arts Training beneath the waterfall, along with the footage Reporter Ji had sent him. Zhang Beixing held his phone, his head bowed as he started editing.
Noticing this, Lin Siqi couldn't help but become curious. Although she had filmed Zhang Beixing before, she had never seen him edit videos. Intrigued, she leaned in closer to watch.
