Chapter 641: The Last Character

Upon hearing Wang Yan mention his arrival on this small island, Beiming Xue asked in confusion, "Brother Wang Yan, didn't you say you grew up in the Three Principles Mountain since childhood? How could you come here?"

Wang Yan nodded and said, "That's indeed how I remember it, but I also have some vague memories of visiting many places before I arrived at the Three Principles Mountain. However, these impressions are too blurry; I can't recall them clearly."

Beiming Xue said, "So what you're saying is, Brother Wang Yan, you came to this island when you were young?"

Wang Yan shook his head and said, "I can't be sure, but after seeing this stone tablet, I can't help but feel an overwhelming emotion, as if the person who wrote this inscription is greatly related to me."

At this, Beiming Xue's eyes suddenly brightened, and she said, "Could it be your long-lost father that you've been searching for?"

A glimmer of excitement flashed in Wang Yan's eyes, but then he shook his head and said, "I don't know, I really don't know..."

Looking at the expression in Wang Yan's eyes, it seemed mixed with a trace of excitement, along with a fear of disappointment.

After a while, Wang Yan chuckled bitterly and said, "Forget it, my master once said that when I stand at the peak of the world, I'll naturally meet my father. Maybe now it's just my wishful thinking. However, haven't you noticed? There's a missing stroke in the inscription on this stone tablet."

Upon Wang Yan's words, the others realized indeed, among the words "Net Shrimp Island" on the stone tablet, the last character, "island," was missing a "dot."

Hu Wei remarked curiously, "Who wrote this and missed a stroke? No wonder these three characters look so awkward. Let me add it in."

With that, Hu Wei lifted a finger towards the empty dot in the middle of the character "island."

Given Hu Wei's cultivation, a casual point with his finger could easily leave a deep mark on the stone tablet, or perhaps even shatter it with a single touch.

But just as Hu Wei's finger was about to land and press onto the stone tablet, it was as if a great force halted him, making it impossible for his finger to touch it.

Hu Wei's finger trembled in the air, as if he was using all his strength, but the finger simply could not descend.

Gritting his teeth, Hu Wei exclaimed, "I don't believe it! A mere stone tablet can't stump me."

With that, Hu Wei shouted, channeling the Power of Demon Patterns onto his finger and aiming for the stone tablet.

However, at that moment, Wang Yan's expression suddenly changed. He raised his hand and grabbed Hu Wei, pulling him aside.

Just as Hu Wei was pulled away, he suddenly opened his mouth and spat out a mouthful of blood, his complexion turning as pale as paper.

Seeing this, Beiming Xue quickly used her First Soul Skill on Hu Wei, gradually helping him recover.

After wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth and looking at the stone tablet, Hu Wei exclaimed in fright, "What on earth is happening? Why did I vomit blood?"

Wang Yan said, "This stone tablet is not simple. These three characters alone are filled with a murderous aura. The person who wrote them must be someone with a vast inner universe, even containing the world. To add this missing dot, you must be able to withstand the murderous aura contained within these three characters."

Upon hearing this, Hu Wei nodded in agreement and said, "Indeed, just when I was about to strike, I suddenly felt restless, with my Heart Spirit unsettled, and the Demon Pattern shaking. If not for Boss pulling me away, I fear I wouldn't have merely spat a mouthful of blood. This stone tablet is terrifying, we should leave quickly."

With that, Hu Wei wanted to leave immediately.

But Wang Yan shook his head and said, "No, I want to try and see if I can fill in this missing stroke."

Upon hearing Wang Yan's intention to fill in the stroke, everyone felt uneasy. If the stone tablet was as terrifying as Wang Yan suggested, what if Wang Yan got hurt in the process?

However, everyone understood that once Wang Yan decided on something, nothing could change his mind, so they watched him anxiously.

Wang Yan stood before the stone tablet, bowed respectfully, and said, "Senior, this junior dares to attempt to fill in this stroke. Please forgive any disrespect."

Afterward, Wang Yan approached the stone tablet, took a deep breath, and slowly lifted his hand, pointing towards the first character on the stone tablet.

"Net!"

Wang Yan did not immediately add the dot to the last character 'island', but first pointed to the first character, "Net."

As Wang Yan's finger traced the air above the character "Net," it started to write.

Though it was only a mere tracing, as Wang Yan completed the first stroke in the air, the tablet seemed to echo with the sound of countless soldiers charging, followed by the clashing of weapons.

With the second stroke, it felt as though the armies were locked in battle, reverberating with shouts, the neighing of horses, and the cries of those falling from their steeds amidst the chaos.

The third stroke brought a sudden silence to the sound of battle, plunging everyone into an endless quiet. Though devoid of noise, it seemed as though countless bodies lay strewn across the field in front of them, broken weapons scattered about, creating a scene of somber desolation.

The fourth stroke transformed the scene again, into a boundless dark realm, with the souls of the fallen seemingly tormented in Hell.

At this point, Wang Yan groaned and took a sudden step back, retreating seven or eight steps, his face paling.

Alarmed, Beiming Xue rushed to Wang Yan's side, using the First Soul Skill to heal him.

Wang Yan's complexion slowly regained color, but his gaze towards the stone tablet was filled with wonder. He murmured, "Incredible, even half a character contains endless worlds. It seems my master was right; there are so many secrets in this world I have yet to discover."

With this thought, Wang Yan stepped forward once more, beginning to trace the first character "Net" again.

This time, Wang Yan completed the fifth stroke but was once again repelled.

After receiving Beiming Xue's treatment, Wang Yan approached again, tracing the first character "Net" hundreds of times before he could fully inscribe it.

Having finished "Net," Wang Yan began on the "Shrimp" character, repeating it thousands of times before completion.

Finally, Wang Yan reached the last character, "Island."

Writing the first two characters had benefited Wang Yan immensely, as if a window had opened in his mind, revealing countless secrets of the world.

For the remaining character, Wang Yan had a premonition that completing it would grant him great rewards.
