Cultivating Through The Game

Chapter 235: Misleading

"The intelligence was wrong; the person you mentioned has hidden his true strength. He is a Martial Cultivator at the Sea of Qi stage, not the Spiritual Qi stage you reported." A man leaned against the wall, speaking in his mind with his eyes closed.

"Impossible. Two months ago, when Lu Yu participated in the Soldier's Secret Realm, he was still at the Qi Cultivation stage. How could he have advanced to the Sea of Qi stage now?" A voice filled with surprise echoed in the man's mind.

After speaking, the voice immediately recalled how it was rumored that the Sword God broke through three stages in the Soldier's Secret Realm. If Lu Yu's talent was comparable to the Sword God's, it wouldn't be impossible for him to have advanced to the Sea of Qi stage in such a short time.

This only further confirmed his identity as an unparalleled genius.

"No, the intelligence was not wrong. Lu Yu must be that unparalleled genius!" the voice said with determination.

"Investigate more carefully, and if possible, test him. Don't you carry the leaves of the Responding Way Tree? You can use them to test him."

"The higher the talent, the stronger the ability to sense the 'Way.' Ordinary people cannot perceive the power within the leaves of the Responding Way Tree. If he is a genius, he will surely sense the Dao rhyme within the leaves."

"...," the man leaning against the city wall gritted his teeth and said, "I have a feeling you're sending me to die. If Lu Yu doesn't sense it but those strong in the Divided Soul stage do, I won't be able to leave An Nan City!"

"Ahaha... it shouldn't happen. When you have those leaves on you, they haven't sensed anything, have they?" The voice sounded somewhat lacking in confidence.

After a moment of silence, the man responded in his mind, "Alright, I'll find an opportunity to test him."

The communication ended, and the man opened his palm, where fine ash fragments floated.

...

Lu Yu only used his Spiritual Power in battle after noticing that his followers had dispersed. Although the Double Ring Snake Ring could conceal his realm, it couldn't alter the intensity of his Spiritual Power.

He could only minimize his use of Spiritual Power to reduce the risk of exposure.

The Stone Axe native warrior felt anxious when Lu Yu used Spiritual Power. Even without it, this human could fight him to a "draw." Now that he was using Spiritual Power, wouldn't he be doomed?

Bam! The stone axe struck again. The native warrior, intending to abandon his weapon and retreat as Lu Yu defended against the attack, unexpectedly found the Spiritual Power aura from the Demon-Breaking Saber intimidating yet surprisingly weak in power.

The power and aura were on completely different levels.

Just as the Stone Axe native warrior was filled with doubt and renewed confidence, Lu Yu parried the stone axe and delivered a heavy slash.

The thousand-jin Demon-Breaking Saber fell, compressing the surrounding Spiritual Qi into a mass under its immense pressure. To the Stone Axe native warrior, the Demon-Breaking Saber blurred in vision.

Boom! The heavy Demon-Breaking Saber cleaved through the almost-shattered stone axe and struck the Stone Axe native warrior's shoulder.

Lu Yu felt no resistance as he effortlessly sliced through the Stone Axe native warrior's tough leather vest, severed the trophy necklace strung with tendons around his neck, and diagonally cut through the warrior's body.

The Demon-Breaking Saber, infused with Spiritual Power, was an entirely different weapon than when without it.

[Killed a Dali Barbarian Bull Clan elite warrior, gaining 354,000 experience points]

Upon receiving the kill notification, the Divine Weapon Pavilion disciple token hanging from Lu Yu's waist recorded the battle merit. After completing the task of resisting the southern barbarian invasion, rewards could be claimed based on the battle merits on the disciple token.

Having killed the Dali Barbarian Bull Clan elite warrior, Lu Yu, wielding the five-meter-long Demon-Breaking Saber, charged into the densely populated area of the battlefield, sweeping the large blade horizontally, severing all enemies within the attack range.

No one could withstand Lu Yu's strike; weapons, armor, and bodies were all unable to hold up.

With one horizontal sweep, all enemies within the attack range were cut in two.

Lu Yu's rampage through the enemy forces drew their attention.

Several scrawny tribesmen at the back of the enemy forces, holding bones of an unknown black creature, pointed at Lu Yu and kept chanting.

"Qi and Blood Exhaustion!"

Three black rays struck Lu Yu's body, but a flash of golden light shimmered on his skin, nullifying the black rays' effects.

Lu Yu felt as though something had brushed against him. With enemies all around, he couldn't afford to be distracted looking for what had touched him; it had no effect on him anyway.

The three who cast the Qi and Blood Exhaustion witchcraft glanced at each other, skeptically eyeing their spell-casting tools. Had they expired? Why were they ineffective?

With skepticism, one of them cast Qi and Blood Exhaustion on another nearby Martial Cultivator.

As the other Martial Cultivator dodged enemy attacks, he was struck by the Qi and Blood Exhaustion witchcraft. His Qi and Blood stagnated momentarily, slightly weakening, causing his movements to stiffen as multiple weapons hit him simultaneously, shattering most of his Spiritual Armor.

Seeing the cursed Martial Cultivator's slowed movements and being pummeled by their own men, he became confused. Why did it work on others but not on that human?

"Slow Action!"

Seeing Lu Yu continuing to slaughter native warriors, they, bewildered by why Qi and Blood Exhaustion didn't affect him, switched to a new witchcraft.

Black light shot from the bone, landing on Lu Yu's body. A flash of golden light again rendered it ineffective.

"Limb Paralysis!"

Black light shot out, Lu Yu's body flickered with golden light, the witchcraft failed.

"Vision Deprivation!"

Black light shot out, Lu Yu's body flickered with golden light, and the curse was ineffective.
