From A Producer To A Global Superstar

Chapter 134: Plans and Temptation

When they finally got into the car, Alice let out a long breath. "You just threw a grenade into the media, you know that?"

Dayo leaned his head back, eyes half-closed. "Yeah," he said quietly. "That was the point."

She looked at him for a moment, then smiled slightly. "You really don't know how to stay quiet, do you?"

He chuckled. "Not when silence means losing."

Dayo sat in the car with Alice, and it was quiet for a while. He was thinking about how he had released a killing aura that screamed danger to Michael. He hoped that even if it didn't stop him — which he knew was impossible — at least it would give him a break or a little time to think and create plans, because everything was falling apart faster than expected.

This was one of the reasons he did that interview — he hoped it would at least stall Michael or put pressure on him. Then he remembered that the interview might not even be aired or released, and he felt deflated.

"Dayo, what happened? You've been quiet since your talk with Michael. You do know that you have to speak, right?"

Dayo sighed and went on to tell her everything that transpired between him and Michael.

Upon hearing what happened, she looked at Dayo and understood why he pulled the media move. He looked a bit sad. She moved closer to him and tapped his shoulder, leaning forward. "I've seen your growth, even though not from the start. You're smart and can think of a way out. So calm down, take a deep breath, and let go."

Dayo looked at Alice, who was close to him, and he could feel her breath crawling on his skin. He didn't know if he was hallucinating, but he could feel her upper part close to him. He took a deep breath, trying to clear his head and think of a plan to stall Michael, because he knew that with everything going on, he probably wouldn't be able to stop him.

Just then, he felt a palm on his lap — but an idea struck his head, and he almost screamed out, though he tried to reduce his voice. "YESSS!"

"Huh?" Alice, who had ulterior motives, felt shocked at why Dayo suddenly said yes.

Dayo smiled at Alice and even pecked her on the cheek. "Thank you, Alice. I have an idea. I'll pitch it to you tomorrow."

Dayo came down from the car in a rush and waved as he walked toward his house. His heart was beating fast — he almost lost control when he was with Alice.

"Oh, Alice, what's going on in your head?"

Although he kind of sensed that Alice had a thing for him — and of course, as someone young and healthy, he was interested; after all, she was hot — he couldn't bring himself to do anything since he had something with Luna. Although they had not decided to define what they had, he knew they did everything couples did.

"Damn, this was why I told Luna I didn't want anything serious…" In his past life, he didn't get married but had a kid he wanted to free. He was what one would call a player, although he was not one. If he saw a lady he liked and she was interested in having a good time, he was ready. He want perfect after all even he looked. This was why he told Luna he was an asshole. He couldn't resist mature ladies, unlike younger ones. After all, he had the mentality of someone in his mid-fifties, so he had more appeal for the likes of Luna and Alice, who were more mature.

So, having been seduced by Alice brought him those feelings he had in his past.

He just shrugged this thought off first — he had to settle the fire that was about to break — and decided to write down the plans he had (of course, he had thought of a plan — not that he just ran out).

It was late at night. Michael sat at his study desk, looking at the phone lying quietly. He was waiting for an update concerning Dayo.

After a while of waiting, the phone finally rang.

Ring.

He picked it up immediately. "So?"

The person took their time before replying. "Well, he has no criminal records, only a fight in the United States. But this is where things get interesting. He's from a military background — his father and late uncle were both military — and he has combat ability, judging from the fight scene."

"As for whether he's ever unalived someone, I'm 80% sure he hasn't, but that doesn't mean he can't. I'll send you something now."

Then Michael received a picture. He looked confused at what he was seeing until he heard the other voice continue.

"What you're seeing are his marksmanship scores from when he went shooting. You can see there's no score less than 9, right?"

Michael was too shocked to answer and just hummed. "Hmm."

"These were his scores — less than 2%, maybe even less, of the entire U.S. force can get this kind of score. Mind you, this was all from a huge distance."

"So from what I've found, there's a very low chance of him being a killer, but as I said, he could become one," One said in a factual tone.

"Hmm... okay, One. I'll send the payment via the usual route. Thanks," Michael said, a bit absent-minded.

He sat still, the voice of Dayo still lingering in his mind.

"I may be a small fish to you now, but if you cross that line… I'll personally end you. And everyone backing you."

The first thing that came to his mind was — how did Dayo know he was being backed by people? The number of people who knew that in the industry was less than his right-hand men. And second, the fact that he said he would end him kept echoing in his mind.

Michael had been in the industry for more than 20 years. Of course, he had received death threats and worse from people — but this one felt different. He couldn't point out what it was, but he felt it deep in his bones.

Still, he couldn't stop or give Dayo a break, because every time he said he wanted to, Dayo ended up gaining an unseen advantage. So whatever was bothering him, he would bury it.

He picked up his phone.

"Clara, be ready. Tomorrow is when we strike."

"Tomorrow?... Sorry, yes sir," she quickly replied.

"Good." He ended the call after that.

He rested on the couch when a female hand touched him.

"Michael, come in. Let me take those thoughts off your mind," the young lady said as she caressed Michael.

Michael gave a sinister grin and picked the lady up roughly, going full craze. The female either didn't feel pain or had gotten used to it, but the night went fast for Michael.
