The filming for WorkaTon was quite exhausting. As soon as Rayen boarded the van, his head hit the back of his seat, and his consciousness immediately slid out of his body.
When Mr. Big News discovered him sleeping, he shook his head with a smile.
Meanwhile, Rayen found himself standing before an unfamiliar door. It took him a moment to realize that he's now in the dreamland again — a different dreamland, though.
Despite his unwillingness, Rayen could only let the dream play on its own.
Just then, the door before him opened. The moment it did, several people's figures appeared in his vision, sitting on rows of chairs and tables. In front of them, there was a green blackboard.
They briefly turned their heads toward him, their eyes a pool of darkness.
Rayen's body stiffened.
But the people only briefly scrutinized him before silently turning away. As though he were just an insignificant figure. As though he didn't matter.
His shoulders heavy, Rayen slowly stepped inside. He didn't earn any more attention from the others. So, he quietly sat on the only empty seat in the room, listening to the chatter of every student.
He sat there for a long time, not exuding any presence at all.
Soon after, Rayen woke up in the van. It was quite a peaceful waking up, unlike the first few nightmares he had experienced.
When he turned to look outside, the van was parked somewhere Rayen didn't recognize.
He immediately turned to Zi Xu, who had been the only person left in the van to watch over him.
"Where are we?" he asked.
"The sauna." Zi Xu coughed, covering his mouth with a fist.
"What are we doing here?"
"If we still head over to the dorms, we wouldn't make it to Pop Core's pre-recording," Zi Xu explained.
On, right. Pop Core's pre-recording is at 2 AM... Right now...
'It's 10 PM.'
Rayen and Zi Xu exited the van. Raising his head, Rayen curiously scrutinized the signboard of the sauna.
"Sauna in the Sky"
The pair quietly entered. The staff at the front desk instinctively greeted them. Just as she raised her head to look at them, she was immediately stunned.
"R-Rayen!"
As soon as the words left her mouth, she covered them and then glanced around. Out of instinct, Rayen also did the same, frantically turning his head left and right. His trauma had been activated again.
Fortunately, the sauna was quite deserted.
"Oh... I forgot!" she suddenly exclaimed.
'What did she forget?'
The staff member finally came to her senses. She let out a soft smile.
"I forgot this is a private bath house. Don't worry about getting recognized. You're safe here. Only high-profiles and idols like you visit us."
Upon hearing her words, Rayen sighed.
According to her, because Pop Core's studio wasn't far from here, idols like them frequently head to this place if their schedule was packed. They would also only let in known people and registered members to make sure it was a safe haven for their kind.
"Ah, let me check you in."
With a nod, Rayen and Zi Xu approached the front desk.
As he neared, the eyes of the front desk staff glittered. "I was just happy to see you earlier... I thought only the other members had come."
Rayen also smiled and handed her his ID card as well as Zi Xu's. However, due to his dark under-eye bags, this smile seemed menacing. Nevertheless, the staff didn't mind it.
"You look so tired," the staff said, the glitter in her eyes never leaving.
Even her hands never stopped typing.
What a godly skill... Well, if she's been working here for a long time now, it wouldn't be unusual for her to learn this skill. After all, she would encounter big shots every day. If she wanted to behold their beauty, she would have to be resourceful.
Rayen only laughed dryly.
Once she finished typing in their information, she extended the cards toward Rayen.
"Your other members are already inside. Please take your card too."
However, it was Zi Xu who reached for the cards and accepted them, earning a disappointed pout from the staff.
After checking in, the pair headed to the changing room that the staff told them to. They quickly finished changing clothes and went to find the others
Unsurprisingly, they found them together with their personal managers — as well as some familiar figures too.
"Your missing teammate is here!" Han Daon exclaimed.
"Hello, Seniors. We met again," Rayen greeted.
It wasn't that odd to encounter ALTAIR here. After all, they just came from the same set earlier, and they were headed to the same venue next.
And it seemed like Yeo Haru and Xu Jiji's activities had also ended quite late, and they also had to head to this place so they wouldn't be late, just like WorkaTon's group.
Upon Drake's initiative, the other personal managers went their way to enjoy themselves too.
Since Yeo Haru was now in the care of their other members, there seemed to be no issue in leaving them for a while. It was just exhausting babysitting him all day.
After watching the managers go their own ways, Rayen stared at his members, particularly at their heads, which were wrapped weirdly in a towel.
Noticing the direction he was looking at, Adrian smiled. "Neat, right? The seniors did it for us."
"I taught them!" Han Daon immediately raised his hand. "It really slipped our minds because you're all good at speaking Korean, but most of you are foreigners, huh? It's really fascinating! You're a total global idol!"
'How noisy...'
This guy was just like Yeo Haru and the old Liam.
"You're flattering us so much, Senior," Adrian said.
"No. You're just really, really good at speaking the language. You seem like a native."
Well... If not for their system, learning a new language would indeed take longer.
"Do you want me to wrap yours too?" Han Daon asked, his attention turning back to Rayen.
"... Later, senior."
'I don't want to look silly.'
"Oh, right. You're not a foreigner, so you can handle it yourself," Han Daon said.
"....." Rayen couldn't deny it.
Adrian held back his laughter.
'You're really having fun...'
"They have sleeping pods there. You wanna sleep some more?" Mr. Big News asked, switching the topics.
"No, I'm fine. I've slept plenty enough in the van."
They should've actually woken him up if there was a sleeping pod here. His body was numb after sleeping for a long time crouching inside the van.
Granted, it wasn't really certain they would be able to wake him up.
Since he wasn't really sleepy now, they just went ahead and went to the snack bar — just as Rayen wanted.
He had been hungry for a long time now.
"Um, I need a coffee. Also this, and this, and this..."
Rayen grabbed almost everything in the bar counter. When the members of ALTAIR saw how much Rayen could eat, they were fascinated.
"How can you eat this much without getting fat?" Han Daon asked. "You also don't exercise."
The corners of Rayen's mouth twitched. "Genes."
This time, Han Daon finally shut up.
