From Slave to King: My Rebate System Built Me a Kingdom With Beauties!

Chapter 85: The Journey.

The moon rose high in the dark sky, and Byung was ready with Maui by his side. She knew it might be smarter for her to stay behind.

Still, no one could guess what waited for him past this spot, and she wanted to face it with him.

This trip felt like a turning point, and Maui knew Byung needed her now more than ever.

She had no idea how much money he really had or why he spent so much without trying to bargain.

He either had tons of cash or he just made a big money mistake, but it did not worry her since things turned out fine.

It also showed Byung got how money worked, even though goblins never used it in their lands.

Maui was too big to fit in the back of the wagon with Byung, so she sat up front next to the driver.

This was dangerous, but many female orcs rode along to handle the driver's wild needs on long trips like this.

If there were no stops planned, so this was the only way that made sense on paper.

With his job, he never ran out of money.

Byung knew he had to get back soon because a fight was coming up.

If everything went right, they would be in and out in 48 hours.

Byung hoped Murkfang was okay and planned to use his nose plus a cloth with Murkfang's smell to find him once they reached the human lands.

The trip started, and Byung's body already hurt from the bumpy road.

He saw the wagon carried poop, which meant he was stuck in it up to his neck.

The smell could knock out any normal person, but Byung was used to it.

He had lived with dirty goblins most of his life, so that helped him a little.

It still made him throw up, but it did not matter since the load was not worth much.

This also meant no one would check it; no one wants to dig in poop for hidden stuff.

Farmers needed it for their fields, and the cheap price made it sell fast.

This was just a cover, and the real job was sneaking things across borders.

Maui kept watch on the road ahead. The driver knew his paths well because every scary turn connected safely.

He must have driven through these roads many times, and she would not be shocked if he could do it blind.

"Maui… I wonder what you must have done for Borg to make the offer he did on your head," the orc started talking to her since it beat sitting in silence.

He had to stay awake and sharp, so a little chat would not hurt them.

"He tried to kill me and failed," Maui said bluntly.

"How much did he offer you?" Maui questioned, and the orc responded.

"Oh, not much. 5 gold coins and a few silver to sweeten the pot, and all of that was for your location. I doubt I can kill you if he fails to do so," the orc confessed, but he was also curious about her relationship with Byung.

"I see…" Maui didn't give him much to build on, and this made it difficult for him to know anything about her.

"What is that goblin to you?" the orc questioned, and Maui looked at him with a raised brow.

"You talk a lot for a merchant. You know that, right?" Maui rolled her eyes because it was clear he was trying to establish her relationship with Byung so he could see if he would try to stick his cock in her.

"Small talk…" the orc responded, but his eyes lingered on her cleavage. They bounced at every bump, and the way they jiggled defied gravity.

Maui wasn't uncomfortable by this act because, at the end of the day, he was a male.

This was simply part of the things that came with their primal nature.

Maui understood the nature of his job, but there was no way she would betray Byung.

He had shown her things she didn't know were possible and chose to believe in him.

"Are you planning to ride all night or take a rest?" Maui questioned for safety concerns.

"All night… I have the stamina," the orc said, but Maui didn't entertain this conversation any further.

He was trying to flirt, but Maui wasn't giving him anything to build up on.

Maui had to keep her eye out because, since the route was unfamiliar, there was a higher chance they could be robbed.

Maui wondered how Byung was doing and wondered if it was necessary for him to stay there for the duration of the trip.

Why couldn't he just hop in when they were close to their destination?

And she only had the thought because they could both hear Byung continuously throw up.

It was something they got used to over time, but she could only imagine the situation he was in.

Maui couldn't make out where they were due to being in pitch-black darkness and had to be alert because there was a possibility this was a trap.

If his loyalty could be bought so easily despite already being paid for a job, there was a chance there was an even higher bidder somewhere.

This was why Maui knew she couldn't let down her guard as her hand was wrapped around the hilt of her swords, waiting for anything out of the ordinary to occur.

"Okay, we will rest here," the orc said, and she noticed it was a tavern that looked abandoned, but being so far out, there was a strong chance it didn't get a lot of business.

It was in the middle of nowhere, after all, and Maui knew it was illogical for Byung to ride for hours in that state as he could die, so taking this rest was important.

Even though he had joked earlier about not doing so, Maui could take a deep breath because this at least gave him some authenticity.
