Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 1024: 1021: Your Coffin

Despite hearing Corey's question, Pope Arzhel did not respond, and the main reason he did not was because he was still stunned by everything that happened.

He could not fathom how he was in such a state.

From the very beginning, he had not seen Corey as a threat despite knowing that he was a Paragon or a Demi-Paragon.

And it was partly due to his arrogance and mainly due to his confidence.

He was not an average Tier 6, and he had his secrets. Very few Tier 7s were worth his attention because he was just that powerful.

His secrets and trump cards made him that dangerous, and that was why he was one of the very few Popes that was feared amongst the powerful Kingdoms and Empires of the universe.

How could he, the Pope of the Temple of Flames... A man who was worshipped and feared in many worlds, realms, and stars.

A man who slain many Immortals.

How could he have lost to a mortal?

It was absolutely incomprehensible to him... or was it?

What Pope Arzhel did not know was that from the moment Corey stopped holding back, he had been suppressed.

What suppressed him was Corey's Paragon bloodline, several of his titles, and also... New Earth.

Because Pope Arzhel and many other Outsiders were not born on New Earth, they were actually suppressed, and the degree of the suppression was dependent of the Universal System.

Pope Arzhel had made a deal with the Universal System so that he could stay on New Earth without facing heavy suppression, however, he was still suppressed by 10%.

The Pope's instincts had warned him back then to kill Corey with all he had, but Pope Arzhel had subconsciously ignored the warnings from his instincts.

Or, it was more accurate to say that the Pope did not completely listen to his instincts.

Instead of using 100% of his power, he had used 90% of his power.

90% might seem like a lot, but the remaining 10% was composed of his secrets and trump cards.

And if the Pope had used them, the outcome of the battle would have been severely different.

Another reason why the battle ended so weakly and why it looked like the Pope was so weak was because Corey was predicting the future with nigh-perfect accuracy.

With the power of the void, his Stars of Consciousness, his Eyes of Omniscience, his Eyes of Truth and Judgement, and his Mind's Eye, he was able to predict the future with nigh-perfect accuracy, so in a way, he knew what moves the Pope was about to take.

With such powers, especially with the support of the world tree, Pope Arzhel stood no chance from the moment he chose not to use his trump card.

And after causing severe damage to the Pope's Sea of Consciousness and his mana veins, the Pope did not even have the opportunity to use his trump card.

"I asked you a question, where is my sister?"

Pope Arzhel finally looked at Corey, though with visible difficulty. He stared into Corey's pure white eyes for a moment before he finally spoke.

"And why should I answer you? At least my death would be better knowing that I died without telling you the fate of your sister."

Pope Arzhel forced a smile, and Corey furrowed his brows slightly.

"If you don't tell me where my sister, I promise you that you would beg for death when I'm done with you."

Pope Arzhel chuckled harshly and with defiance in his eyes.

"Do your worst. I won't break."

When Corey heard this, his expression did not change. However, he knew that the Pope was right despite him not wanting to admit it.

Through his Eyes of Truth and Judgement, he could see many colours surrounding Pope Arzhel, and one of those colors which he was currently focused on was the Indigo colour.

The Indigo colour represented one's will, mental strength, and mental resilience. And from what Corey could see, the Pope's will and mental resilience was extremely strong and firm.

In fact, it was most likely the strongest mental resilience he had seen, and he knew that if he used his usual torture methods of Painful Echo, Soul Entropy, poisons, or his Maledro's Gu, he would not be able to make the Pope to talk.

Instead, he might just kill the Pope at the end of the day, and with that, he would end up losing the only way of finding his sister.

He also thought of using Cognitum Erasure to try and go through his memories.

Although Cognitum Erasure was not a memory reading skill but a memory erasing skill, with his Transcendent level proficiency, he could glimpse at the memories he wanted to erase, allowing him to know the truth.

'If I didn't have a Transcendent level proficiency, all I would see when I try to erase memories are blurry flashing images that even my Stars of Consciousness would not be able to understand. But with my current proficiency, I can see clear images of the memories I'm erasing.'

'If I wish to erase the memories he has of Anna, I'll be able to see images of her and his knowledge of her. I won't be able to see everything, but if I'm lucky, I'll be able to see enough.'

'But there's a problem... His soul and mental resilience are far too powerful for me to attempt such a thing.'

'If I'm not careful, I'll face a terrible backlash since his mind is still strong despite me trying to weaken him.'

'I guess I have no choice but to put my faith in that.'

Barely three seconds had passed after Pope Arzhel's words of defiance. Corey shook his head.

"You asked for this."

The Pope looked at Corey with raised brows of mockery and amusement, but then he frowned when he saw a coffin that was the size of a toy car appearing on Corey's palm.

"What's that?"

"Your coffin." Corey indifferently replied.
