Reborn with Consumption System

Chapter 135: Ten Million Investment_3

The formalities were now over, and Pan Shengwu started organizing more drinking.

"Come on, come on, Little Han! Today, we two brothers will test your capacity. Let's continue!"

They got Han Lie so drunk he was utterly muddled.

Not drunk on alcohol, but rather on the people.

As the two older men went off to the bathroom together, Pan Ge sneered with disdain, "It's the same old trick again. How unoriginal!"

"You know about this?"

"Obviously."

Pan Ge, with an air of haughty confidence, launched into an exposé.

"My dad and Uncle Dou both come from that official, state-run background, you know? They love that whole 'sizing people up at the drinking table' routine. They don't even consider what era we're in now. Even stress interviews have been debunked, yet those two are still making such a fuss about it..."

Han Lie reached out and took her soft hand. "I just want to know how I passed."

"Passed what?"

Pan Ge rolled her eyes dramatically.

"They couldn't outdrink you even when they were cheating! It's obvious they just gave up on the spot. I bet Uncle Dou hasn't said a single word about what he really wanted to discuss or ask. You, you big liquor tank, you drank them under the table and scared them off!"

Han Lie was stunned for a moment, then suddenly felt an urge to laugh.

So, being a good drinker has this kind of advantage too?

This trait certainly showed up at the perfect time...

Seeing Han Lie looking perfectly clear-headed, Pan Ge gritted her teeth. "You're such a good actor! Last time at my house, you had just a little to drink and acted 'drunk' enough to want to become sworn brothers with my dad. Today, you've completely blown your cover, haven't you?"

Han Lie was speechless, feeling that this was indeed difficult to explain.

Last time, I was half acting, half genuinely affected; a pure fifty-fifty split.

Today, I forgot to act, and the difference is indeed a bit glaring, huh...

Pan Ge laughed with schadenfreude. "Just you wait! Dad definitely has his suspicions about you now. I can't wait to see how your carefully constructed image shatters!"

It's probably not a big deal.

Han Lie tried to reassure himself while nervously waiting for his future father-in-law to return, stealthily observing him for a while.

Sure enough, Old Pan's eyes held a new, contemplative expression.

Han Lie froze.

To make such a huge slip-up, all stemming from that business earlier... I really lack experience...

Panicked, he decided to go for broke and decisively raised his cup.

"Uncle Pan, thank you for your hospitality. I won't say much more—it's all in this drink! I'll down it in one go!"

After downing his drink with gusto, he suddenly froze, stood there stunned for a few seconds, then swayed and plopped down, collapsing into Pan Ge's arms.

Pan Ge: "..."

She was utterly dumbfounded.

This rascal reacts so fast... Just how many skill points has he put into these devious tricks?

Old Pan, however, was delighted, his mood soaring.

"Ah, this boy. If you can't hold your liquor, then drink less. Why insist on showing off? My dear girl, take care of Han Lie, will you?"

While feigning concern, all his ulterior motives vanished.

Only one thought remained – the opportunity is here! She has to seize it!

He was about to drink again, but on second thought, he put his cup down.

He called over to Pan Ge, "My dear girl, your Uncle Dou and I are going to drink a bit more. You take Han Lie back. If it's inconvenient for him to go back to his dorm, find a hotel. Ask the staff to help carry Little Han up. And remember, be home before midnight!"

The emphasis of his words was clearly not on "coming home," but on "hotel + midnight!"

Oh boy! If I actually stay in a hotel with this rascal until midnight, *your* precious daughter might not be a maiden anymore, Dad...

Pan Ge felt a little scared, yet she couldn't suppress a thrill of excitement.

"You're the one who got him drunk! Why am I the one stuck dealing with him?!"

She complained indignantly, but she got up without any hesitation. She quickly summoned a waiter, and they helped Han Lie out the door.

"PFFT!"

Dou Mingde, thoroughly drunk, suddenly chuckled and remarked with feeling, "The girl has really grown up..."

Pan Shengwu, not at all bothered, raised his eyebrows proudly. "So? My son-in-law is pretty good, eh?!"

Dou Mingde nodded. Rubbing his belly, he let out a sigh.

Pan Ge had thought Uncle Dou's "stress test" hadn't occurred. But for old foxes like them, did asking a few more or a few fewer questions really make any difference?

His work capabilities were already clear. What truly needed to be assessed was simply the underlying nature of his character.

"The younger generation is truly formidable..."
