The Growth of a God

Chapter 9: A Future Where All Are Dragons (3/5)

White Bone City, near the Creator Altar lies the Hero Cemetery.

"Even though I've tried my best to avoid it..."

"But the concept of 'ruling class' still appeared in the end."

Gently stroking the tombstones in the Hero's Garden, Bone Chant, who visits here every once in a while, sighed helplessly.

Because those who rest eternally in this Hero's Garden are heroes who once sacrificed themselves in the Marz World.

Only when coming here and seeing those Skeletons who died because of him, does Bone Chant realize the heavy responsibility he bears.

"As Balian would say, this is the progress of society, the development of the era, you need not worry about it at all."

As always by Bone Chant's side, Luo Fu spoke somewhat carelessly.

"By comparison, I feel that the Skeletons now are more like living beings."

"Originally, Skeletons had no desires or demands..."

"Even death was just an endless sleep from which they never awaken."

"But ever since you promoted the reform of the currency system, Skeletons wanting a better life began to learn to actively earn Sun Coins to exchange for more things."

Pausing slightly in his speech, Luo Fu then continued.

"In my view, this is indeed much better than how Skeletons were originally."

"After all, even we Immortals will attempt more possibilities out of curiosity. The changes in Skeletons now can only be described as evolution."

With no intention of refuting Luo Fu, Bone Chant, born knowledgeable, expressed his melancholy.

"Division of classes, the emergence of rulers..."

"These will drive those Skeletons who are no longer content to pursue more risky actions..."

"Among them, an oppressor like Tyrant Xiong Pi might emerge once again."

As he said this, Bone Chant did not notice Luo Fu's slightly strange expression.

"Oppressor, huh?"

Murmuring quietly to himself, Luo Fu adjusted his facial expression before Bone Chant could react.

"You're just worrying unnecessarily; Skeletons won't become oppressors."

"As long as their desires and needs are met, and they're guided to pursue higher ideals, the emergence of professions and class divisions won't be a big problem."

In this regard, Skeletons have natural advantages over flesh-and-blood creatures.

Skeletons never have to worry about basic needs like food and clothing because they simply don't need them.

Their desires aim for a better life, not basic survival.

Push them to the extreme, and they just lie underground; whom can oppressors oppress then?

Besides, this is a world where True Gods exist!

Are those Ascenders with absolute martial power really going to be oppressed by money?

"Speaking of which, how's the 'Skeleton Enhancement Program' you're collaborating on with Burrowing Insects going?"

"I heard it can significantly increase the probability of Skeletons becoming Ascenders?"

"Is it really that amazing?"

Although they have had early contact with Burrowing Insects, a race possessing advanced technology and ideology of a higher civilization.

In reality, the Hundred Races of Mountains and Seas did not accelerate their civilization's progress because of it.

Instead, under Bone Chant's leadership, they even deliberately suppressed technological advancement to prioritize public education.

Under Bone Chant's semi-compulsory requirement, nearly every city allied with Skeletons must establish at least ten schools.

From the basics of text and language, to simple arithmetic problems, to learning about Creator's deeds...

This is common knowledge all awakened members of the Mountain and Sea Realm must learn before adulthood.

Upon reaching adulthood or completing their basic education, they can choose schools related to their interests for further study.

Those with strong desires and outstanding skills can even find ways to apply to establish a new school.

This unexpectedly bold policy drew the interest of Immortals.

In response, Bone Chant offered a piercing answer — what is taken is forever someone else's, only what is truly mastered suits oneself best.

Based on the previous great battle, it's clear the Mountain and Sea Realm doesn't lack top-tier combat strength.

Be it the Immortals, all Ascenders, or outstanding Skeletons...

They possess the hard strength to contend with another world's top forces without involving Gods.

If that's the case, why should the Mountain and Sea Realm rush to enhance itself?

Improving public education and laying a strong foundation to ultimately create a civilization where everyone is like a dragon would be better, wouldn't it?

This is what sets the Mountain and Sea Realm apart from other worlds.

From top to bottom, from Gods to mortals...

All creatures in this world don't see other life forms as resources for their own progress.

If possible, those leading the way are even willing to pause and help others advance towards civilization's future.

This is the harmonious atmosphere built by the unrelenting efforts of Immortals over thousands of years.

"Actually... that program isn't as magical as you think."

Casually fluttering his wings, Bone Chant, as usual, got distracted by Luo Fu.

Discussing his expertise in research projects, Bone Chant's tone even seemed more lively.

"In essence, it's just a project to enhance Skeletons' basic physical qualities."

"If it can be expanded later, it might even be applied to other races."

.........................................................

White Bone City, Zhiku Research Institute.

This used to be Bone Chant's garden, mainly for his experimental base for cultivating various Bone Beasts.

However, as his responsibilities grew heavier, Bone Chant hasn't visited here for his favorite research projects for a long time.

Thus, at some point, it naturally became the exclusive institute for Zhiku.

Anyone coming here possesses knowledge and wisdom surpassing ordinary Skeletons.

They might have once been Prophets or leaders in various fields...

No matter their previous identity, upon arriving here they only carry the title of 'exclusive Zhiku researcher'.

Of course, due to the school policy Bone Chant implemented half a year ago.

These exclusive Zhiku researchers mostly work as instructors in certain schools after leaving.

So when these individuals with outstanding wisdom gather to research a project, it almost equates to consolidating most of the Mountain and Sea Civilization's wisdom.
