Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 1461: There's No Way He's That Dedicated

"The speed limit in this area is 100 km/h, you're way over. You'll get a ticket for this."

Over the limit? Feng Yi never thought he would speed, "Damn it, my brakes are broken!"

"Come on, this is a new car. Are you trying to scare me? Stop the car."

Feng Yi had no intention of stopping, "Use the Sky Network authorization to gather intel on my target, then you'll understand."

A second later, Eggy suddenly realized that Feng Yi wasn't just speeding. When he picked up the car keys, he had also accepted a task.

Task Level: D

Task Name: Chase the Criminal

Target is a Porsche supercar; he must cooperate with the authorities as much as possible to block the criminal.

Currently, he's closest to the criminal because just now, that Porsche brushed past his car.

The rest of the police force is on their way, all the streets have been blocked, but most of the police cars can't keep up with the target, so the task naturally falls on him.

Feng Yi's driving skills are undoubtedly top-notch, but this car isn't a Mecha, nowhere near as maneuverable as one. To him, it's more like a toy, so in a blink, he pushed the speed to 200.

"You're driving a bit fast, mate."

Eggy was starting to panic; sitting in a car is nothing like sitting in a Mecha. This thing isn't crash-resistant.

"Why panic? Keep reporting the fugitive's direction to me."

You had to admit Feng Yi was steady; the car was fast, but there was almost no shaking. Half of that was the car's performance; the other half was skill.

Gradually, Eggy adjusted, "Turn left in 3000 meters, the authorities are hesitant to block the road completely for the hostages' safety in the car."

"What's the speed of the fugitive's car? How far are they from us?"

"Speed is 280, less than ten kilometers away. Inside the car, there's a man, a woman, and a little girl, who is probably the hostage."

No wonder they're getting further away; they even pushed their speed to 280. They're really bold to run that fast.

Hearing this, Feng Yi decisively floored the accelerator. With a burst from the lightning propulsion device, his speed soared instantly.

Overtaking cars one after another, he finally saw the red Porsche two minutes later…

Both parties were now on the interstate, and the gap was closing fast.

At this moment, Time Second was closing the distance quickly, almost silently like a ghost, reaching speeds of 370.

The design philosophy of Time Second differs from other supercars—it doesn't focus on loud engines but rather on performance.

With the gap narrowing fast, Time Second approached the front car, repeatedly honking to signal them to stop, reducing their potential charges.

After his honking warning, the Porsche didn't stop; instead, it responded with a middle finger, a woman's middle finger.

The finger beckoned him provocatively, as if saying, "Catch me if you can," before stepping on the gas, leaving Feng Yi choking on dust.

"Damn it!" Eggy felt his dignity being challenged, blurting a curse, "Give me the controls; watch me chase down that punk."

"She's provoking the veteran driver; if I gave you the wheel, I wouldn't be pleased."

"Even you can't handle this speed without losing control. I checked the data on the other car; the driver is a pro racer."

Seeing Time Second reaching speeds of 370 while the other is clearly over 400, at this rate, one of us is bound to crash.

It's not that he didn't trust Feng Yi; as a top driver, Feng Yi's skills and reflexes were unmatched. He could dodge bullets, after all. Compared to that, his prowess was apparent.

But the other guy is a professional racer, and Feng Yi rarely drives, which left Eggy a bit uneasy.

Unexpectedly, Feng Yi made a bold decision—he pressed the gas down hard, then shifted gears suddenly to engage the propulsion system. In a blink, Time Second leaped forward at breakneck speed, accelerating to 514.

Like a wild horse off the leash, it drew even with the Porsche, the window sliding down.

Due to the intense wind, he practically shouted, "You are under arrest. I advise you to step out and explain yourself. If you keep speeding, you're on your own."

The two people in the opposite car were startled. They were at 500 speed, any mistake could be fatal, yet here this guy was, smoothly controlling the wheel with one hand, looking as if he were taking a leisurely drive.

The man sneered, "You think you can catch us? You'll die ugly today. Goodbye, idiot."

He flashed a toothy grin at Feng Yi, then executed a minor drift around a curve. At such speed, any major movement would surely lead to a disastrous crash.

He simply couldn't believe a police car could manage 500 speed around a curve.

Feng Yi certainly didn't choose to drift; drifting might look cool, but it reduces speed. As a seasoned driver from Akina, passing a corner through a drainage ditch was his signature move.

At this moment, Time Second's speed didn't decrease as it took the corner, driving directly onto the side of the drainage ditch.

It looked as if the car would flip over, a true test of control and timing.

Time Second made another rapid leap forward, forcefully stabilizing, with the car racing on two wheels, sparks flying, skimming the Porsche's body.

"What the hell, this super cop is really something,"

The professional racer panicked a little too. Luckily, if he turns just right, the other car would end up in the ditch.

So he gradually decreased his speed, planning a sharp turn.

Meanwhile, Feng Yi was highly focused. Based on Time Second's inertia, he had 2.2 seconds of safe control. If they reached the front curve, any move would be uncontrollable.

Seeing no sign of the other car stopping, determined to fight to the end, Feng Yi had to turn the wheel quickly onto the mountain road.

Before the fugitive could rejoice, even to catch his breath.

Who would have thought this madman would accelerate again, switching to off-road mode, charging straight down the mountain? Although only at a hundred or so speed now, he approached with a mighty momentum, like a tiger storming down the hill—truly a dedicated pursuit.

As the professional racer was planning to turn and trap Time Second, taking the curvy route, he didn't expect his opponent to preemptively evade, taking the straight mountain route, and then forced its way downhill, making it impossible to lose them.

The Porsche continued to accelerate…

In the next moment, the off-road Time Second landed heavily, but maintained speed, tailing closely…

The two in the car were now somewhat flustered; earlier hitting speeds over 500 still seemed to show professional spirit.

Now, it was clear—this was a lunatic, a major lunatic willing to risk life on the line!

"Darling, what do we do now?"

Before the woman finished speaking, she staggered as the car was suddenly and forcefully hit by Time Second on the side, which they hadn't realized had caught up.
