Chapter 234: BLOODLINE CONNECTION II

"Void slash!" Dain roared fiercely, swinging his razor-sharp claws, now enveloped in swirling, dark void energy directly at Riea, her diminutive size rendering her seemingly insignificant against the backdrop of his overwhelming strength level, yet he attacked without mercy.

"Blood Iron wall," Riea invoked calmly, summoning a towering solid wall colored in deep crimson that materialized instantaneously, blocking Dain's onslaught and absorbing the full impact of the attack completely, the barrier vibrating slightly but holding strong like an unyielding fortress in the void.

"Blood whip!" Riea launched her counterattack without hesitation, conjuring a elongated solid blood whip that lashed out at a velocity a hundred times greater than the speed of sound, hurtling toward Dain whose previous assault had been so decisively thwarted, the whip slicing through space with a whistling keen.

Dain lifted his arm confidently, bracing to receive the blow from the blood whip head-on, placing full trust in his exceptional high damage resistance, his skin toughened like ancient armor forged in the fires of countless battles.

The blood whip struck Dain's arm with explosive force, shattering upon impact into harmless fragments that dissipated into the void, while Dain endured only negligible damage, a mere scratch that barely registered on his formidable physique.

The swarm of blood fairies positioned behind Riea seized the opportunity created by her bold strike without wasting a moment, each one unleashing a precisely coordinated barrage of sharp blood crystals that soared through space at terrifying speeds toward Dain, their crystalline edges glinting menacingly under the faint starlight.

"You bastards!" Dain growled savagely, the barrage of blood crystals impacting and shattering against his resilient skin, eliciting only a mild tingling sensation that prickled like distant static, inflicting no true or lasting damage whatsoever to his indomitable form.

"I will have to deal with the pests first!" Dain snarled with mounting fury, accelerating to his absolute top speed in a blur of motion. In an instant, he materialized right in the midst of the blood fairies' armies, his presence disrupting their formation like a storm descending upon fragile wings.

"Void tornado," he invoked powerfully, beginning to spin rapidly on his axis with centrifugal force. From this whirlwind rotation, potent void energy erupted outward in the shape of a raging tornado, ripping through the blood fairies with merciless precision, tearing their delicate bodies apart and scattering their essence into the cold vacuum of space.

"How dare you!" Riea cried out in outrage, her voice trembling with raw emotion as she witnessed the brutal decimation of her kind, the sight fueling a great inferno of infuriation that burned hot within her tiny frame, her eyes blazing with vengeful fire.

"Blood net!" she shouted, deploying her most effective area-of-effect attack to ensnare Dain, the intricate web of crimson threads expanding rapidly with the singular goal of holding him immobilized in place, if only for a precious moment.

"Blood drill," she followed up seamlessly, channeling yet another formidable ability into existence.

The solid blood drill manifested with a radius roughly half the size of an average human being, its surface gleaming with lethal intent as it rotated at an astonishing speed 150 times greater than the speed of sound. At such an extreme velocity, the kinetic energy generated by the drill defied all logical bounds, becoming a force of pure devastation. The intense friction and heat emanating from the rotating blood drill began to slowly erode and melt the very fabric of space around it, warping reality like molten glass under extreme temperatures.

"Bring it on!" Dain yelled defiantly, his voice echoing with battle-hardened determination as he welcomed Riea's onslaught head-on. The blood net enveloped him swiftly, restraining his movements for scarcely an instant, but that fleeting window was all Riea required, her blood drill hurtling forward to capitalize on the opening before Dain could fully react.

"Aaarghhhh!!!" Dain bellowed, channeling his inner strength to boost his morale amid the chaos. Void energy seeped profusely from his body, enveloping him in a protective cloak that shimmered with dark, abyssal hues. This energy then solidified even further, morphing into a robust armor that clung to his form like a second skin, fortified against the impending threat.

The blood drill slammed into the void armor with cataclysmic force, grinding relentlessly in an attempt to breach its defenses, resulting in a tense stalemate where neither side yielded, the clash sending sparks of energy cascading into the surrounding void like fireworks in the night sky.

Riea poured every ounce of her concentration into manipulating the blood drill, her tiny fingers extended outward as she willed it to spin even faster, intensifying the assault with unyielding focus, her brow furrowed in determination against the starry expanse.

Dain, on the other hand, steadfastly continued to resist her relentless attack, his void armor enduring immense strain from the barrage, with hairline cracks beginning to spiderweb across its surface. Yet Dain pressed onward with grim resolve, refusing to be bested by Riea under any circumstances. What had begun as a dire life-and-death confrontation swiftly evolved into a fierce battle of pride, with neither combatant willing to concede defeat to the other, their wills clashing as fiercely as their powers.

Crack.... Shatter!

In the end, one emerged victorious while the other faltered. Dain's void armor was ultimately breached by the unyielding blood drill, fragmenting into countless pieces that dissolved into nothingness, leaving Dain momentarily stunned, his expression frozen in shock amid the debris.

"How?" Dain gasped, a profound look of disbelief etched upon his face, his eyes wide with incredulity. With the void armor obliterated, the drill pressed forward unchecked, surging onward with lethal momentum, poised to pierce straight through Dain's heart in a clean, fatal strike.

"I'm sorry, but I can't have Dain die," Terry's words sliced through the entire battlefield like a clarion call, his voice calm yet authoritative. Terry raised his arm deliberately, revealing an integrated energy blaster embedded within his palm, its mechanisms humming faintly with charged power. His movements, lifting his arm and locking onto the target occurred at a velocity surpassing that of the blood drill itself, ensuring his intervention would preempt the drill's penetration into Dain. In a split-second calculation of trajectory and impact point for the energy blast, Terry unleashed the shot precisely to intercept Riea's blood drill before it could claim its victim.

The fired energy ball streaked through space with blinding swiftness, colliding directly with the blood drill and halting its advance in a burst of radiant force.

"I'm sorry, Riea, but I can't allow you to kill him," Terry interjected firmly, "especially when he is the one on our side." His blaster remained trained unwaveringly on Riea, its barrel glowing with residual energy.

Riea fell silent, her mind racing as she carefully weighed her slim chances of survival should Terry enter the fray fully, the odds stacking heavily against her in the unforgiving void. She clenched her hand tightly, the realization dawning that her prospects were perilously close to zero, a knot of tension forming in her core.

Knowing that grim reality, Riea understood that the most logical course was to call it quits and surrender, rather than forfeit her life defending a complete stranger solely due to an inexplicable connection. But no matter how rationally she analyzed the situation, she found herself utterly incapable of defying Aaron's commands, the bond overriding her logic like an unbreakable chain.

"Riea, I will advise you just one time," Terry warned solemnly, "back down. I don't want to have to kill you." As he spoke, his body from the neck downward began reconfiguring itself with mechanical precision, the sleek machine parts shifting and transforming into more combat-oriented components. Reinforced alloys replaced the standard ones for enhanced durability and defense, multiple blasters emerged along his limbs, and missile launchers protruded from strategic points across his frame, all while his eyes remained locked intently on Riea. The transformation completed in a mere two seconds, leaving Terry fully in battle mode, primed to act instantaneously if Riea chose not to heed his stern warning.

"Some men you all are, ganging up against a lady," Aaron proclaimed loudly, his words cutting through the tension and drawing the undivided attention of everyone present. He made no effort to conceal the sharp mockery dripping from his voice as he locked eyes with Terry, staring him down directly in the face with unbridled audacity.

"Let's even the playing field, shall we?" Aaron suggested, a sly smile tugging at the corners of his lips, his expression radiating confident amusement amid the charged atmosphere of space.
