Chapter 422: Reversing The Seduction?

“You let men into your house and sleep with them?” Rael blurted out, causing Malinali’s brows to twitch.

“What…? Don’t twist my words,” Malinali replied coldly. “I’ve not slept with anyone, as I believe in purity. The furthest I’ve gone is teasing. Who wouldn’t give out all the answers in the world so long as a beautiful woman such as myself is half-naked in front of them?”

Rael found it hard to believe at first, but she did have a point. If Zafira were to approach him dressed like Malinali had, he would probably recite a holy mantra forwards and backwards in one go.

Anyhow…

“So this is the real you?” Rael mused. “I’d say this personality suits you better than the temptress.”

Before she could reply, he continued. “You said you’re willing to talk, right? I highly doubt you’ll like what I have to say, though.”

Malinali sat on top of the living room table in front of him, then shot him a nod, as if telling him to speak his mind.

And speak his mind he did.

“I want your kingdom,” Rael said flatly. “Of course, I’m willing to give you anything you might want in exchange. I just need the country management system to trigger so I get money passively.”

Now it was Malinali’s turn to be speechless.

She claimed to be bold, but she had clearly never met someone as bold as Rael.

They were alike in that regard, as predicting their next actions was very difficult, but that was only if no one knew them on a personal level.

After all, as long as money was involved, Rael would be on it.

But if my trigger is money, then Malinali Liesa must have a trigger of her own, Rael deduced and waited for her to answer.

They remained in silence for several minutes, and after Malinali finally processed his words, she let out a chuckle.

“You do know the extent of your request, don’t you? Handing over partial leadership of my kingdom in exchange for what? You said whatever I want?” Malinali asked, and he nodded, so she continued.

“What would I want…? I guess you could say I’m a big fan of money,” Malinali said as she subtly played with her ponytail. “Money and riches are what keep me happy, so if you can give me more money than I know what to do with, then I’ll help you out.”

“Is that so…” Rael mumbled with a slight frown.

But he only looked doubtful on the surface. In reality, he was already building up the perfect plan inside his mind.

And of course, after forming his plan, he began revealing it to Malinali.

“A few hours ago, I became the ruler of Aurenthia,” Rael stated, making Malinali’s eyes widen.

“You beat Silas…?” Malinali muttered. “No, that’s impossible. Even I wouldn’t be able to defeat that monster.”

“I granted him the one thing he desired, which was mortality,” Rael said, his gaze drifting elsewhere. “I am not a person who grants such wishes on a whim, but if it aligns with my goals, and it’s within my power, then I am more than willing to cooperate. Silas’s mortality was a simple request, and I granted it to him with no strings attached.”

Except for the string where he would entice Silas to buy from the Dimensional Shop whenever he wanted, but Malinali didn’t have to know that.

Still, it was a bit surprising she even knew of Silas in the first place.

That means the ruler of the Hollow Kingdom might know of Silas as well. That’s a good trump card that would work as a shock factor.

“I’ll believe you for now, but how does you being the ruler of Aurenthia have anything to do with my goals?” Malinali asked, crossing her arms.

“Believe it or not, but I don’t live in the Depths,” Rael stated out of nowhere. “I’m from another world entirely, and I only come here on some occasions. For that reason, I won’t be able to rule over Aurenthia directly.”

As she opened her mouth to speak, Rael raised his finger, stopping her.

“I plan to have many continents, and preferably even worlds under my name, and because of that, I need someone who can control my territories in my stead.”

When he finished those words, it all clicked into place for Malinali as she let out an unrestrained laugh.

“Hahahaha… you really are as bold as me, aren’t you? You are offering Aurenthia to me in exchange for putting your name alongside mine, huh? So a partnership of convenience… I get more money, and so do you.”

Rael smiled and stepped forward, approaching her slowly.

Then, he pushed her down on the table, his long platinum hair traveling down and creating a cocoon where only their faces were seen.

“Aurenthia is just one of the many kingdoms I plan to let you control in my stead,” Rael said slowly and leaned in beside her ear, then whispered.

“My next destination is the Hollow Kingdom.”

With those silent words, he raised his head once again, meeting her eyes that were slightly trembling from excitement.

However, she soon pushed him away, then she cleared her throat.

“I’ll have you know, I don’t react very well to seduction,” Malinali said, mimicking his reaction. “But if what you say is the truth, then does that mean you plan to control the entire continent?”

“Of course.” Rael nodded and walked over to his seat once again before sitting down.

He crossed his legs, mimicking her this time.

“So what do you think?” Rael asked, a faint smile appearing on his face. “Do you want to control this continent with me and increase your profits? Or do you want to sit in Elmlot for the rest of your life and deal with bullshit politics, which you’d be able to change however you please if you were to become the ruler of the entire continent?”

Malinali stared at him for a few moments and rubbed her chin. It was an opportunity she hadn’t expected to get, but there was still one thing she couldn’t understand.

Why would he offer something like this to her? There were officials who could deal with the boring political stuff, and he could keep 100% of the profits instead of splitting them 50/50 with her.

So with that in mind, she took a deep breath, and after organizing her thoughts, she decided to ask him a few questions.
