Chapter 409: Entering The City
The Angel Egg? That thing I picked up from the vault? Rael thought with a tilt of his head. That’s another thing I’ll have to check out in a bit.
He just really hoped an Angel wouldn’t pop out of the egg and start calling him papa.
Otherwise… I’d have to prepare a casket for myself the next time I see Zafira… or Lilith.
Anyhow…
“You might be a little confused,” Rael said, crouching down beside Theo. “I can kill you however many times I want, and then I can revive you again and again… you get the gist, don’t you?
He tapped him on the shoulder and stood back up.
“So, for both our sakes, shut up and be cooperative.”
With that, Theo remained quiet, though his fear was palpable.
Well, he did have a few hints.
<…>
Now that the annoying part was over and done with, Rael grabbed Theo by the collar and jumped off the wall, making it collapse.
His vision blurred as he swiftly made his way to the capital, Pikeloft.
My stats are… they should be maxed out now, Rael thought with a smile.
Without the rain cloud buff, they weren’t maxed out just yet, but with it, he had hit the limit of his Movement Speed, Spell Power, and Attack Power.
So at the moment, he had 100,000,000% Movement Speed, 10,000,000,000 Spell Power, and 5,000,000,000 Attack Power.
It was safe to say that all he was missing for his current Grade were levels. He was pretty sure he could just go ahead and ascend whenever he wanted to.
But for my own sake, I want to try getting at least Calamity Class again.
Even so, he didn’t dawdle on those thoughts for too long as his figure flickered into a giant city.
It was the capital city Pikeloft, and unlike Indra, it was not as technologically advanced. It reminded him more of the Holy Kingdom from the Dralgur Continent.
The streets were paved with cobblestone, and vendors sold their wares. But there was one item that nearly every single vendor sold, and it was none other than sunglasses.
But since I’m in the Depths… those sunglasses are probably there for the crimson moon, Rael thought, glancing at the moon. Or rather, for the idiots who can’t help but stare at it.
Burger chuckled. [Doesn’t that mean—]
Shut up, Rael interjected with twitching brows, then turned to Theo, who was on the ground, dazed.
“Pick yourself back up. We’ll be going to the palace shortly,” Rael said. “I don’t want you looking like a lazy bastard when we get there.”
Theo let out a heavy sigh and stood up, then dusted himself off.
The upper bit of his clothes was missing, but thanks to him being quite the influential figure in this Kingdom, all he had to do was walk up to a vendor and ask for some clothes.
But of course, that only brought more attention to them.
“Crowned Prince Theo is here!”
“Kyaaa! Sign my pillow! N-No… sign my…”
“Get this pervert out of here!”
“Now, now, everyone, calm down,” Rael spoke up. “Today, Crowned Prince Theo has decided to take a walk around the capital and advertise his new favorite shop!”
All of a sudden, Rael summoned his Dimensional Shop in the open, making everyone stare at it with confused looks.
“…Who are you again? I don’t remember Crowned Prince Theo having an attendant that looks like you,” a woman asked. She seemed like a noble, given her extravagant clothing.
But before Rael could answer, Theo finally proved his worth.
“That is none of your business, Lisa,” Theo said coldly, narrowing his eyes at her. “When is Duke Ferrand planning to repay his debts to the crown? Or should I personally visit him to collect his property?”
Lisa’s eyes widened, and with a swift bow, she made her way back into the crowd.
Theo cleared his throat and spoke once again.
“This is a special shop where limits don’t seem to exist. You may buy whatever you wish, whether it is cattle, food, or other items. Be civil, and more shops would come into existence.”
Of course, Rael didn’t place the same limit as he had done to the barbarians. After all, he wanted to milk these people for all that they were worth.
With Theo’s words of encouragement, the first person cautiously stepped up.
They scrolled through the shop interface, and a moment later, a sack of potatoes appeared on the ground.
It didn’t seem that special, so another person went ahead and bought something. This time, it was clothes.
Another, and yet again, they bought something different, causing it to manifest out of thin air like magic.
And just like that, the floodgates were opened as people swarmed to The Infinite Shelf Dimensional Shop.
But before things could get too hectic, four guards dressed in long white robes appeared out of nowhere, seemingly commanded by none other than Theo himself.
They stood guard beside the Dimensional Shop and maintained an orderly line where only one person at a time could buy something.
Rael stared at the sight in satisfaction, then gestured for Theo to approach.
Then, with a grin, Rael grabbed Theo’s collar and vanished out of sight, reappearing in front of the giant palace.
However, it seemed more like a cathedral than an actual palace, but Rael wasn’t one to judge. He ruled over Celestara from a mansion in the sky.
“Before we enter… I must warn you. Don’t act as recklessly with my father as you did with me,” Theo said.
“Don’t worry, I have no intention of talking with your father,” Rael replied cryptically and stepped inside the palace.
The guards, who were dressed in robes, seemed startled upon seeing Rael, but when Theo appeared right behind him, they all settled down. With a bow, they let Rael and Theo through and even escorted the two of them to the throne room.
“Thank you, William,” Theo said, and with another bow, the guard left.
“You know their names?” Rael asked, surprised.
“I do not,” Theo replied flatly. “I call all the guards William.”
Rael held back a chuckle. “What if it’s a woman?”
“…”
Yeah, he also has something wrong with his head, Rael thought, and without wasting another second, he swung open the throne room’s doors.
