Chapter 346: Law Of Time

“Against the heavenly dao?” Xiang Yu asked.

He wondered if he would receive some heavenly punishment for this, but he wasn’t really creating it out of nothing. Even though he wasn’t that smart, he at least knew the first law of thermodynamics: you couldn’t create energy from nothing.

He raised his hand, and another qi sphere consolidated on it, then the blue and red lights returned. “But it’s not out of nothing,” he explained.

The Empress focused more closely on the reaction. When the energies finally collided and the reaction repeated, her eyes widened even more.

“What do you think?” Xiang Yu asked.

The Empress placed her hand beneath her chin. [Converting mass into energy… that’s quite smart,] she said. [Did you see anything else when doing it?] she asked.

“Anything else?” he repeated before shaking his head. “Nothing,” he said.

The Empress nodded. “That’s strange, I thought he had glimpsed into a law,” she thought to herself. After all, she couldn’t believe he had just randomly figured out how to do that. She sighed, well, it wasn’t surprising for Xiang Yu.

Her expression suddenly changed. [She’s here,] she said, turning to look in a specific direction. Li Yao and Xiang Yu also adopted serious expressions as they looked over.

Li Yao grabbed Xiang Yu’s hand. Instantly, space fractured around them and they vanished. They reappeared at the sect’s edge. There were no people walking around as they had already informed everyone to stay indoors and had paused all sect activities.

Xiang Yu and Li Yao peered past the barrier and saw Tianling. She floated in the air, wearing tight dark clothing.

“Oh my, my little prizes are here to welcome me. I’m so touched,” she said, licking her lips. “Don’t worry, I’ll be right there with you once I’m done with this little barrier.” She stretched her hand toward the barrier.

Xiang Yu thought to himself that this was really bad timing.

Although he had already positioned himself properly in the other continents, he was having a difficult time getting close to the flower in the central continent.

As Tianling was about to touch the sect barrier, Xiang Yu activated the attacking formation. He needed to delay as much as possible. Fortunately for him, he had discovered a way to exploit his spirit vein body and connect it to the formations, meaning when it came to energy, he could spend as much as he wanted.

He activated all ten attacking formations, sending attacks toward Tianling from all directions. She looked at the approaching attacks, taken aback at first, then smiled. She thought to herself that she had made the right decision to refine half the world core, how else was she supposed to deal with this?

“My, what a cute trick,” she said.

“I really appreciate your hospitality, but I’m afraid I’ll have to decline this heartfelt welcome. You see, I don’t want to dirty my clothes.”

As she spoke those words, she waved her hand. Instantly, everything went silent. The attacks were gone, as if they had never existed to begin with.

“This is bad,” Xiang Yu said. “It’s a time domain,” he added.

[No, even worse, it’s a time law,] the Empress spoke, her expression growing more serious. She thought to herself that no wonder she couldn’t divine this person, they were probably from the upper realm.

Someone like that would know a thing or two about hiding their karma.

She considered that the demon god was also from the upper realm. She wondered if these things were connected. If that was the case, then there was no other explanation except that someone was targeting her. No, more precisely, they were targeting Li Yao.

A person who could plan so far ahead without her realizing, someone who could treat everything like their playground, such a person, just how strong could they possibly be?

Xiang Yu number five was peeking from behind a tree.

This was really bad, he thought to himself. Although there weren’t droves of people camping out here like he had initially expected, someone was still guarding the flower, and not just anyone, but a peak integration realm expert.

How was he supposed to get close to the flower like this?

As these thoughts raced through his mind, the person he was watching suddenly turned their head in his direction. He quickly ducked behind the large tree, jumping into a bush and covering his mouth with his hand. His heart pounded against his chest as he wondered, “Did he see me?”

While pondering this, he heard footsteps approaching. “Hmm, what’s this? I suddenly smelled something nice from this direction,” the man said, his voice growing clearer as he neared.

Xiang Yu felt the man walk up to the bush he was hiding under.

He took deep breaths to calm himself. No need to panic, he reassured himself. He was using the void domain to hide his presence. There was no way for the man to sense him unless he was looking directly at him. He wouldn’t know that he was there.

Or so he thought.

Suddenly, the bush he was hiding inside was split apart, and Xiang Yu came face to face with the man.

Ye Chen stood before the demon flower, a foul expression etched across his face.

“Why do I have to guard this thing? We should just destroy it instead,” he thought.

He raised his hand, gathering energy into his palm. But after some time, he sighed and lowered his hand, the gathered energy dissipating.

“Dammit,” he cursed, kicking down a nearby tree with such force that it splintered at the trunk. The massive tree toppled over with a thunderous crash, birds scattering from its branches.

He thought to himself that he was a failure.

He couldn’t do anything meaningful. Back when he had joined the Heavenly Palace Holy Land, he was just a kid with dreams of becoming an immortal and saving the world.

Now, after so many years, he had realized it was all a sham.

The immortals were no saviors, they were just people thinking of themselves without a care for others. And now, he had become one of those people.

As these thoughts swirled in his mind, his nose suddenly twitched.

“Hmm, that smell… so fragrant. Is someone making pills here?” he wondered aloud, looking toward a large tree in the distance.

He walked slowly to the tree and circled around it.

There, he spotted a small bush that seemed out of place. The mysterious fragrance was definitely coming from there. Without hesitation, he waved his hand, slicing through the bush.

“Kyaaaa!” a female voice screamed out, the high-pitched sound startling him.

“What the fuck?” Ye Chen blurted, his eyes widening as they met with those of the beauty laying on the ground before him. Her delicate features were flushed with embarrassment, her long hair slightly disheveled from his sudden attack.

“Umm, who are you?” he asked, his voice softening.

The girl blushed, using her slender hands to straighten her dress, which had become somewhat disarranged during her fall.

“I-I’m Xiang Li”
