Wizard: Start with Biological Transformation to Grind Experience

Chapter 235 - 019: Incomplete Deep Meditation Method

Chapter 235: 019: Incomplete Deep Meditation Method

After more than ten years of cultivation, the Banshee Flower in the pot has grown quite well. Its stem has reached half a meter in height, and a palm-sized bud has already formed on it. In just a few more years, the bud will successfully nurture a Banshee Fairy, a rare Magic Pet coveted even by Wizards as it can grow to the Second Tier.

“I hope you can offer an explanation.” Hudson’s voice came from behind, polite but icy cold, like gears spinning according to regulations—everything predetermined, devoid of variation.

Calvin grabbed a handful of golden grains from the feeding bowl in his hand and scattered them onto the Banshee Flower before him. It was Sunshine Powder, a feed made from sunlight. In this sunless Shadow Land, where flowers and plants couldn’t bask in real sunlight, this was their substitute under the ever-present dark clouds that dictated everything.

“Eat slowly, no need to rush.”

After feeding two handfuls of Sunshine Powder, Calvin returned to the house, picked up his pipe, took a drag, and exhaled a smoke ring as he said, “Well, that’s indeed true. My niece begged me for quite a while to give her boyfriend something. I couldn’t refuse her, so I found a roll and gave it to her.”

Hudson said, “Respected Wizard Calvin, this does not comply with the rules.”

Calvin replied unhurriedly, “That young man is an apprentice of our Shadow Tower and has already advanced to the Wizard Level.”

Hudson responded, “Even so, he should abide by the rules. To acquire the Deep Meditation Law, one must marry into a Wizard Family. You’ve been through this yourself, so surely you understand.”

Calvin said, “I do agree, but my niece insists on personally marrying him. I don’t object to letting young people make their own decisions; it’s fine by me. But is that what you believe too?”

Hudson replied, “Miss Avery’s marriage, including the choice of her partner, should be decided by Cavendish. Acting on one’s own also violates the rules.”

Calvin said, “So, the marriage won’t happen for now. But since the young man has already advanced to Wizard, I figured giving it to him early was fine, right?”

Hudson said, “This is still against the rules.”

And so, everything circled back to where it began.

Calvin thought Hudson before him resembled a gear jammed in place, not unintelligent but purely mechanical and rigid.

Just like this ancient land, unchanged for countless years—the sky perpetually shrouded in clouds, inducing oppression and vexation.

Even growing flowers and plants couldn’t be done under proper sunlight.

Feeling momentarily irritable, Calvin decided he no longer had the desire to continue the conversation with Hudson.

He bluntly said, “Fine, fine, go tell your mentor. That Deep Meditation Law roll was something I modified. The kid won’t have any chance to advance with it, ensuring it doesn’t violate the rules.”

Hudson said, “Alright, I’ll relay your message truthfully.”

With that, he turned and left.

Reaching the door, Hudson seemed to recall something and turned back to Wizard Calvin, saying, “Ah, right. My mentor asked me to deliver some advice to you. It’s a personal suggestion.”

“He urges you to rein in your niece. While the fascination of young people with fantasies is understandable, they should be seen as fleeting indulgences. One must not immerse oneself too deeply, nor attempt to bring these fantasies into reality to affect others.”

“A muggle’s marriage prospects are strictly limited to Third-class Wizard Families or below. Cavendish is off-limits, let alone your niece.”

“A muggle will always remain a muggle.”

“While it’s acceptable to share modest benefits with some exceptional muggles to a limited extent, this must strictly remain within certain boundaries. The upper echelons must reserve their purity solely for those of prestigious bloodline.”

Shadow Land, Lynch Mansion.

“Damn it!”

“So treacherous!”

After flipping through the pages, Lynch quickly understood the meaning behind the “incomplete” label on the Deep Meditation Law system.

Many sections had undergone substantial revisions, especially the meditation part.

While the Deep Meditation Law could still assist in cultivation and meditation, its outcomes were minimal, entirely lacking the possibility of upward advancement. It was, unequivocally, a façade.

Lynch grumbled, “These Wizard Families are truly shameless—deceiving even their own!”

He didn’t suspect Avery of orchestrating this. Setting aside questions of character, her limited academic proficiency couldn’t achieve such alterations at this level of knowledge.

It was likely the Wizard who provided her with the law.

Satisfying her wishes while safeguarding the secrecy of the heritage—such a calculated move was indeed well-executed.

“What a scam.”

Fortunately, Lynch’s extensive knowledge and his accompanying system allowed him to see through the scheme at a glance. Had another Wizard taken this, they might have foolishly cultivated it, wasting years—perhaps even decades…

Wait…

Could it be that other muggle Wizards received similar tampered inheritances?

This possibility suddenly occurred to Lynch…

Lynch remembered seeing records in the library about lifeforms above Second-leveled in the Ancient Ruins Land—all of them, without exception, originated from Pureblood Wizard Families.

At the time, he thought it resulted from resource disparities, making it harder for muggle Wizards to rise. But now, it seemed there was more to the story…

“Looks like I’ll have to tread carefully in future cultivation…”

While apprentices displaying exceptional talent were welcomed by Wizards for their utility, advancing to the Wizard Level was another matter. Exceptional muggle Wizards might no longer be what they wanted to see.

Especially for someone like Lynch, considered an outsider among Wizards, the limitations were clearly abundant…

“Should I start considering leaving this place and exploring elsewhere?”

Lynch felt conflicted.

The Wizard World was vast, incredibly vast, and the Ancient Ruins Land was just a small corner of it.

If staying here was comfortable, it would’ve been fine. But given the current situation…

It seemed it might be better to start making plans…

After a round of serious deliberation, Lynch ultimately decided to remain in this Witch Domain for now.

Primarily for convenience.

Although no further cultivation inheritance for advancement had been handed to Lynch, the benefits at the Wizard Level provided by the Tower had not been withheld.

Monthly subsidies of 10,000 to 30,000 Magic Stones, access to the Tower’s laboratories, and cultivation materials were all available.

These resources saved Lynch significant effort; otherwise, Wizard-level cultivation required resources he’d have to seek out himself—an incredibly arduous task.

Another reason was Avery. If he truly chose to leave…she might have to choose between her family and him. Lynch felt that, no matter her choice, it would cause her pain, so he decided against it.

Of course, although he wasn’t leaving for now, he had crafted detailed plans for eventually departing—the destination, the methods, and more were already laid out.

If someday life here became unpleasant or an unforeseen event occurred, he could leave at any time.

Life returned to tranquility once again.

Time passed, day after day, in this calm, uneventful routine.

Before long, many years had slipped by.

On a quiet summer day, Lynch’s cultivation took another step forward, ushering him into a new stage…
