Wizard: Start with Biological Transformation to Grind Experience

Chapter 214 - 028: One day every single day

Chapter 214: 028: One day, every single day

The next day, the day when the Guardian Clouds release their energy.

Morning.

The warm sunlight streamed through the cross-shaped windows into the room, illuminating the spotless wooden floor, the pristine white sheets and bedding, and the two naked figures lying on the bed.

As the sunlight crept onto his eyelids, Lynch’s brow furrowed slightly before he slowly opened his eyes.

He sat up, scanning the surroundings, and his gaze eventually landed on the body of the girl beside him.

’Hmm… what happened?’

His mind gradually settled, and the memories of last night finally returned to him.

Last night, at the banquet hall, he had drunk quite a lot. After the event ended, Lynch found himself marveling at the star-studded night sky and, perhaps on a whim, asked Avery if she’d like to visit his place to see his pet Fire Dragon perform backflips…

Parker was truly skilled at this.

After arriving home, Lynch summoned Parker to perform a few aerial loops. Perhaps because Parker found the request ridiculous or sensed Lynch’s lack of courtesy, the dragon got annoyed and spat a burst of fire at them. Their clothes caught fire, resulting in a chaotic scramble to extinguish the flames and remove their burning clothes.

A lone man and woman, stripped bare.

Lynch’s original intention had been purely to invite Avery to see Parker’s backflips. The ensuing fire incident was genuinely a series of coincidences. But at this point, there was no way Lynch could explain the situation clearly.

So, understanding the unspoken, Avery “took the hint” and pinned Lynch down… and everything naturally progressed from there.

’Damn it!’

’Pulling off a good drunken escapade, huh!’

Once he pieced everything together, Lynch was speechless. He hadn’t expected his drunken antics to lead to this—to wake Parker in the middle of the night for a backflip demonstration, prompting the dragon’s anger. After all, even a Fire Dragon has its dignity, right?

’Next time, avoid this. Staying sober is the bare minimum.’

While Lynch knew plenty of spells to sober up, carried several related Magic Potions in his Space Pocket, and could even dissipate alcohol with Fighting Spirit techniques, he’d simply chosen not to use any of them last night…

“Mmm…”

At that moment, a soft hum escaped the girl beside him. Apparently, Lynch’s movements had disturbed her, and Avery was now waking from her slumber.

Her gaze immediately fell on Lynch sitting beside her, and her own memories of last night soon flooded back. A deep crimson blush spread swiftly across her snow-white skin, lighting up her cheeks.

She hurriedly pulled the sheets over herself, her shy demeanor shrinking under the covers until only the top of her head peeked out.

Lynch snapped back to reality: “You’re awake?”

Avery nodded softly: “Mm…”

Given that the events had already unfolded, Lynch knew there was no point in trying to dodge responsibility. After all, it wasn’t a big deal. Considering his age—30 in this life and 60 if counting his previous one—nothing was likely to cause too significant a stir.

“What do you feel like eating? I’ll prepare breakfast.”

“Uh… anything is fine.”

Lynch got up, dressed, and headed to the kitchen to make breakfast. He prepared two Dinornis Bird eggs, two sausages, two cups of hot milk, and two slices of honeyed bread. While not extravagant, it was respectable. On his own, Lynch usually only needed one egg to get by.

After breakfast, Lynch would ordinarily begin his daily cultivation routine. However, given that he wasn’t alone today, he hesitated about whether to skip it for once.

Avery, aware of his dilemma, made the decision for him: “Go ahead and do your own thing, don’t mind me—I can manage myself.”

Alright then.

With no further hesitation, Lynch began his cultivation for the day.

First, meditation.

Next, reading.

Then, Knight Training.

[Knight Breathing Method +5.]

And so forth, repeating the cycle.

Time flew by. Before Lynch realized it, night had fallen.

He quickly left the Cultivation Room to return home.

Having left Avery alone for most of the day, Lynch figured she’d be upset. If it were him, he’d likely feel uncomfortable in her position—especially considering how sensitive women could be. Wouldn’t she be furious?

Surprisingly, she hadn’t left in anger.

Entering the living room, Lynch found Avery reclining on the couch, engrossed in a hefty book. She wore only a simple single-layered garment, and her long legs sprawled carelessly before Lynch’s gaze.

On the nearby table were two meals she had prepared; however, both had gone cold.

Upon noticing Lynch, she immediately sat up enthusiastically: “You’re finally done cultivating!”

Lynch apologized, “Sorry, I lost track of time.”

“Why apologize? I made you food, but it’s cold now. Let me heat it up.” She grabbed the dishes and headed for the kitchen.

Curious, Lynch followed her. He didn’t recall this young lady being skilled in the culinary arts. The past six months they’d been together had consisted mostly of gnawing on dried meat and provisions.

As expected, her “cooked meal” turned out to be sliced-up bread and some salted meat boiled slightly with a mix of turnips, potatoes, and onions—a simple one-pot dish.

“Alright, let’s eat.” she said.

Back in the living room, she placed the cauldron on the coffee table, and they sat cross-legged on the floor. Avery ladled a bowl of stew for Lynch, eagerly awaiting his reaction to her efforts.

Lynch took a bite of the mushy concoction. Surprisingly, the taste was pretty good.

“What is this? It’s actually quite tasty.”

Avery explained, “Someone taught me this. Wizard Fruit and Vegetable Soup—it’s supposedly an ancient recipe invented by wizards for quick meals during wilderness travels.”

Lynch nodded, “It’s decent.”

“Haha.” Avery laughed, her voice clear and melodious like silver chimes.

Lynch asked, “Why are you laughing?”

Avery shook her head, “No reason, I’m just happy.”

Lynch looked puzzled, “Happy? What’s there to be happy about?”

Avery pondered, “Hmm… I don’t know. Just sitting here eating like this makes me happy.”

Alright…

Lynch remarked, “I thought you’d be furious, having been left alone all day.”

Avery rolled her eyes at him: “You think I just met you today or something?”

Fair enough.

Lynch then recalled how they’d relied on each other for survival over the past six months. Avery was already familiar with his personality, quirks, and routines.

Avery said, “Having chosen to step into your life, I’ve prepared myself for your way of living. One day.”

“Every day.”

From that day on, Avery effectively moved in with Lynch. Apart from instances when duties called her elsewhere, she spent most of her time at his place—waking up together, cultivating together, sharing breakfasts, and falling asleep side by side.

When they first got together, Avery’s prominent status sparked considerable gossip in Shadow Land. However, thanks to the wizards’ generally open attitudes toward personal relationships—where multiple romantic partners were common among male and female witches alike—relations with someone as strikingly attractive as Lynch aroused little surprise.

As long as matrimony wasn’t involved, the private lives of wizards rarely drew attention. Marriage, however, was a separate topic, and such considerations hadn’t yet crossed Lynch’s mind.

And so, a week passed.

One morning, just after breakfast, a knock sounded at the door.

“Lynch! Lynch, are you there? Open the door!” Adam’s voice rang out.

Lynch opened the door to find Adam standing outside.

Due to their unique role, Black Robe Enforcers did not participate in the Blood Moon War, and Adam had been continuously on duty since then. It had been quite a while since the two had last met.

About to warmly welcome his friend inside, Lynch noticed several black-cloaked apprentices standing solemnly behind Adam. Judging by their expressions, trouble seemed imminent.

What was going on?

Lynch asked, “Is something wrong, Adam?”

Adam frowned, about to respond, when an older man stepped forward from the group behind Adam. Judging by the badge on his chest, he was an Official Level wizard.

The wizard sternly questioned Lynch, “Lynch Valen, are you the apprentice of Wizard Somda?”
