Chapter 1852: Chapter 1949: The Wooden Sculpture Acquired
Fang Lin coldly watched the red-eyed lion and said, "Give me the wooden figurine from earlier."
Upon hearing this, the red-eyed lion glanced back at the Green Skin Monkey Demon. The latter understood and quickly took out the wooden figurine, cautiously approaching Fang Lin.𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
"You can have this wooden figurine, but don’t make any more moves against my brothers and me," the red-eyed lion said in a deep voice.
Fang Lin merely grunted, not really intending to kill them all. After all, they were all Nine-Transformation demon beasts, and killing all five would be difficult. Even if they tried to escape, Fang Lin could at most stop one or two, but not all of them.
"Here you go!" The red-eyed lion took the wooden figurine from the Green Skin Monkey Demon and handed it to Fang Lin, yet his eyes were still warily fixed on Fang Lin, seemingly afraid he might make a move the moment he received it.
However, the red-eyed lion was overthinking it. Fang Lin accepted the figurine without any intention of striking.
"The figurine is yours now. I hope you’ll keep your promise," said the red-eyed lion.
Fang Lin glanced at the distant white giant tower, still clashing with the Bone Demons, and said, "That treasure is not bad either."
Upon hearing this, the face of the red-eyed lion changed drastically. Fang Lin’s words clearly indicated his interest in the white giant tower, a significant treasure to the red-eyed lion, not easily acquired and not something he’d willingly give away.
"Your Excellency, you’re going too far. We’ve already yielded to you, why push further?" the red-eyed lion said through gritted teeth, his hostility apparent, clearly unwilling to make any more concessions.
Fang Lin smiled slightly, "When you all ganged up on me, did it not occur to you that you were being excessive? Besides, back in the Savage Western Forest, I aimed to resolve the situation peacefully, but you lacked the good sense and decided to attack me, so tell me, who exactly is pushing their luck?"
Hearing this, the red-eyed lion and his companions felt ashamed. Fang Lin was right; he initially didn’t want any conflict with these demon beasts. In the Savage Western Forest, he even considered giving them some ancient relics to smooth things over. Yet, after receiving the gifts, these beasts still obstructed Fang Lin, forcing his hand.
Even upon reaching the mountains, they persisted in tailing him, looking for a chance to ambush Fang Lin and seize the treasure.
No matter how you looked at it, the red-eyed lion and his companions were clearly in the wrong, and Fang Lin killing them on the spot would be justifiable.
But it was not surprising, for the demon beasts had always been this way; their greed was an age-old flaw that had persisted for countless years.
"Indeed, we brothers were at fault before, but we’ve already bowed our heads to you and given you the wooden figurine. If you demand more treasures, our brothers will no longer yield," the red-eyed lion said coldly, determined not to hand over the white giant tower.
Fang Lin’s expression immediately turned cold. These demon beasts really didn’t know when to stop; they still dared to stand firm against him.
"Do you really think you can negotiate with me?" Fang Lin finished, summoning five Bone Demons, which surrounded the five demon beasts with a thunderous roar.
The appearance of five mountain-sized Bone Demons left the red-eyed lion and his companions utterly shocked, staring blankly at the massive Bone Demons, unable to fathom the situation before them.
"How is this possible? How do you have so many Bone Demons?" The red-eyed lion was so shocked he almost bit his own tongue. He initially thought this Human Warrior possessing a single Bone Demon was impressive enough, but there were far more than one. Five Bone Demons appeared all at once, enough to crush them alive.
"It’s over!" The five Nine-Transformation demon beasts, including the red-eyed lion, were in despair. They might’ve dealt with one Bone Demon, but five, each as powerful as an Immortal peak, could easily obliterate them.
The red-eyed lion looked at Fang Lin in disbelief, unable to comprehend how a Human Warrior could command so many Bone Demons, having never heard of Bone Demons obeying humans.
Fang Lin stood atop one of the Bone Demons, looked at the red-eyed lion, and asked, "Well, do you still think you can act tough?"
The red-eyed lion gritted his teeth, longing to rip Fang Lin apart, but lacking the courage. If he dared act impulsively, the five Bone Demons acting together could tear him limb from limb.
Ultimately, the red-eyed lion chose to compromise, gesturing to retract the white giant tower, which shrank to the size of a baby’s arm.
Without hesitation, Fang Lin extended his hand, and despite the grudge, the lion obediently placed the small white tower into Fang Lin’s hand.
Fang Lin inspected the small white tower in his hand. After confirming everything was fine, he pocketed it and withdrew all the Bone Demons with a wave.
The disappearance of the Bone Demons allowed the red-eyed lion and his companions to finally relax; the Bone Demons’ gaze was unnerving, especially with the fear that Fang Lin might go back on his word, taking their treasures and then killing them.
"You can leave now," Fang Lin said expressionlessly to the red-eyed lion and his companions, turning towards the deeper parts of the mountains.
"Boss, what should we do now?" The Green Skin Monkey Demon asked the red-eyed lion bitterly.
The red-eyed lion let out a heavy snort, his face as grim as could be. This expedition not only yielded nothing but cost them two treasures, a truly stifling outcome.
"What happened today can’t be left as it is!" The red-eyed lion said through gritted teeth, clearly unable to stomach the loss of their treasures.
The other four demon beasts looked at the red-eyed lion upon hearing this.
"Boss, we can’t beat that guy," said the Three-Eyed Rat Demon.
"Yeah, maybe we should let it go. Losing two treasures is one thing, but our lives are more important," added the Bear Demon.
The red-eyed lion glared at them furiously, growling, "Just let it go? That guy took our treasures; we can’t just let that slide!"
"Boss, don’t be rash. That guy is clearly no ordinary being, with several Bone Demons at his side. If we confront him again, it’s a death sentence," the Green Avian advised.
The red-eyed lion looked in the direction Fang Lin had left, saying, "Don’t forget, deep within these mountains, there’s someone with whom we share a deep bond."
