Qiu Zimo smirked. "The farthest room on the right."

With Jian Dan in his arms, Chu Liyuan headed straight for the room, kicked the door closed behind him, locked it with a swift turn, and walked toward the bed. He tossed Jian Dan onto the mattress, braced both arms on either side of her, pinning her in place.

"Uncle, I’m sorry! I know I was wrong, but I couldn’t just stand by when Zimo needed me. She’s helped me so much before—how could I not help her this time?"

"Jian Jian, your heart is huge, isn’t it? Aren’t you afraid I’d mistake her for you and devour her whole?"

"No, I know you wouldn’t, Uncle! Because you love me—the real me—not just my face or figure. Even if someone looked exactly like me, she still wouldn’t be me. You’d see that right away—you wouldn’t do anything improper with her."

"You have that much faith in me?" Chu Liyuan leaned closer.

"Of course!" Jian Dan raised her arms and wrapped them around Chu Liyuan’s neck.
