Chapter 2918: Underground Jenga

Chapter 2918: Underground Jenga

Date: Unspecified

Time: Unspecified

Location: Myriad Realms, Card World, Southern Region, Blossom District, Sky Blossom City, Fine Gold Headquarters, R&D Tower

’Saved by the bell,’ I thought to myself as Jill shot me one long, dangerous look before reluctantly turning away to open the lab door and check whatever catastrophe Kella was panicking about.

The moment the isolation array weakened, distant tremors, alarm sirens, and chaotic shouts from outside immediately flooded into the laboratory. Even the floor beneath us vibrated faintly.

Meanwhile, my grimoire inbox kept ringing nonstop with incoming messages from Cortney.

Since she was supposed to be watching over the emotionally unstable Bloodette and Petra, whose intentions were still not certain, a bad feeling instantly rose in my chest. I immediately opened the messages.

And the more I read, the darker my expression became, irritably wondering, ’So much happened, and she only thought of warning me once the entire city was about to collapse?’

I was genuinely annoyed.

Ocean Supreme Aqualas had apparently appeared personally, yet Cortney hadn’t contacted me immediately. Instead, she waited until the situation escalated into two Supreme Beings fighting directly underneath my city.

At that point, ’problem’ was putting it mildly. What annoyed me even more was that Cortney’s messages were an absolute mess.

One moment she was talking about the Mountain God and Ocean God. Then suddenly she was rambling about Bloodette betraying them, ancient wars, the founding of the Five Regions, and promises powerful enough to stop oceans from swallowing five regions.

The texts jumped between panic, history lessons, emotional commentary, and disaster reports so chaotically that reading them felt like trying to assemble a puzzle during an earthquake.

Still, one thing was clear. The situation beneath the city had spiraled completely out of control. Without wasting another second, I decided to head directly to Cortney myself.

The moment I stepped out of the laboratory, I immediately felt it. The entire city was trembling crazily. The tremors were too large and violent. It was already a miracle that none of the infrastructure in the city had collapsed so far.

The ground beneath Sky Blossom City groaned under terrifying pressure while countless overlapping energy fluctuations surged through the underground like raging storms. Buildings creaked, alarms blared across the city, and civilians flooded the streets in panic as formation barriers flickered overhead.

And worst of all, the disturbance was still escalating. My expression darkened instantly. Things were far worse than I had assumed from Cortney’s chaotic messages. If I didn’t stop those two soon, they were genuinely going to bury millions of people alive beneath the city over some ancient emotional dispute stretching back several millennia.

Without hesitation, I had all my primordial spirits swallow their ruler-class curses. The curses erupted inside my mutated soul and body like a flood of poison and madness, but I forcefully suppressed them from morphing me to my unleashed form. My aura exploded outward while my Thousand Curse Incarnation Form activated.

At the same time, I entered one with the world state and borrowed as much celestial power from the Card World as my body could withstand. The entire Sky Blossom City instantly darkened with a crimson shade as I summoned my double domain.

"Limitless Celestial Blood Fate Domain."

BOOOOOOM!

An overwhelming celestial pressure descended upon the entire city. Space encompassing the Sky Blossom City began to stretch infinity. I expanded my domain in every direction, enveloping not only the city itself but also the countless underground layers beneath it.

Within moments, I located the two Supreme Beings fighting below. Then, before either of them could properly react, I forcefully dragged both Aqualas and Petra into my double Celestial Domain while they were distracted fighting each other.

And the moment I fully perceived what they were doing underground my thoughts blanked for a second...

’What the absolute fuck are these two idiots doing?’

Petra was desperately trying to keep the city from collapsing into the ground. Entire underground layers were shifting under her control as she reinforced support structures, sealed fractures, and redirected shockwaves away from populated districts.

Meanwhile, Aqualas, despite having countless opportunities to seriously injure or even kill Petra, wasn’t actually trying to do either.

Instead, she was darting around the underground layers making Petra’s job as difficult as possible. Every time Petra stabilized one section of the city’s foundations, Aqualas would destabilize another. Whenever Petra reinforced underground support layers, Aqualas would weaken the surrounding terrain or trigger more underground steam detonations nearby.

It looked less like a life-or-death battle and more like some deranged version of real-life Jenga.

Petra was holding up the city while Aqualas continuously poked and annoyed her, trying to make her lose focus and drop everything.

Which made the situation even more absurd.

From Cortney’s messages, I had expected some ancient blood feud between Supreme Beings trying to murder each other. Instead, what I found was two emotionally unstable disasters playing around beneath a city containing millions of innocent people.

And somehow, that pissed me off even more.

The moment they entered my domain, I acted instantly.

My infinitely stretching space expanded between them, forcibly separating Aqualas and Petra from each other as well as from the underground layers beneath the city. Distances distorted endlessly inside the domain, making it impossible for either of them to directly interfere with the city anymore.

Then I descended toward the damaged underground foundations and unleashed celestial force throughout the fractured terrain. Layer by layer, I stabilized the city’s underground structure: collapsed support veins reformed, fractured tectonic layers compressed back together, destabilized formations regained balance.

The violent tremors shaking Sky Blossom City gradually subsided as the underground foundation returned to stability under the suppression of my Celestial Domain.

Only after ensuring the city was safe did I begin shrinking the domain’s active range, minimizing its presence around the populated areas so the majority of civilians could continue their daily lives with minimal disruption.

To most ordinary citizens, this entire near-apocalyptic disaster would eventually feel like nothing more than an unusually severe landquake.
