Chapter 2043: Imminent Danger

Chapter 2043: Imminent Danger

This was a catastrophic incident to the Tempest Fang Clan, they never imagined in their thousands of years of existence that they would be in danger of annihilation not just from their own kind, but with the aid of a species they had no knowledge of.

Most of the inhabitants of this world had no knowledge of what humans were, they had never seen any before. Even though they could clearly see that there seemed to be some similarities between themselves and these strange beings, they could also sense how strange they were.

What they could not understand was how their opponents managed to get these powerful helpers. They could clearly sense the aura coming from Grey’s body, and it was not on the same level as any of the Peak Sovereigns, this was the reason the first Peak Sovereign from the Tempest Fang who was ambushed did not take the attack seriously. Only after it was too late did they understand how fearsome this strange fellow was.

Turning their gazes to the others below, they could sense them slaughtering their fellow clansmen with ease, almost like they were defenseless chicks who could only stick out their necks and await their deaths.

Grey turned his gaze to the supposed leader of the Tempest Fang Clan, who was fighting with the gray-haired beastman. From his perspective, he could already tell that both parties were equal, in fact, the gray-haired beastman was slightly inferior. This difference in strength did not mean much in a battle of this level as it would be impossible for the leader of the Tempest Fang Clan to gain any form of advantage over the gray-haired beastman.

Both were the respective leaders of their clans, so they both knew what was at stake.

The leader of the Tempest Fang Clan, understanding their dire situation, did not think much before giving out the order for them to retreat. They were no match for their enemies, what was worse was the movement technique of this strange fellow. His elusive movements dumbfounded the leader of the Tempest Fang Clan, adding his shocking power to it, he knew this fight was all but decided. All he could do now was to ensure the survival of his clan.

The gray-haired beastman’s attack grew even fiercer at the sound of the retreat order. There was no way he would allow the leaders of the Tempest Fang Clan to escape, even if he spared the weaker ones, those at the Peak of the Sovereign Plane must be eliminated. He even had eyes on those in the Eighth and Ninth stage as well, but seeing how easily Grey’s friends were dealing with the Eighth stage Sovereigns, he knew only the Ninth stage Sovereigns were left to deal with.

Klaus and Reynolds were currently venting their anger from the attacks they suffered when they were trying to acquire the beast core on these beastmen. At that time, they were unable to do much and suffered some attacks. Even though this was not the clan that attacked them, to them, they were all the same. Besides, they were brought here to kill the enemy; well, not their enemies, but since they were hired, there was nothing they could do.

Grey still left the white-clothed beastman to deal with his opponent as he rushed to help the gray-haired beastman.

The white-clothed beastman’s opponent, having the upper hand, struck fiercely. He could sense the threat of death, and knew he needed to leave this place as soon as possible if he wanted to survive. He had watched how this strange young man was able to deal with his two companions, and he did not want to be added to that list. When he saw the young man heading towards their leader, he heaved a sigh of relief and attacked with all his might in hopes to push his opponent back and retreat.

His relentless attacks brought him the opportunity he was waiting for in a matter of seconds, and without hesitation, he escaped. He could still sense the ripples from the battle between the gray-haired beastman, the young man, and his leader, so he knew he still had time to escape.

Unfortunately, the moment he moved only about fifty meters away from the white-clothed beastman, he felt a chill run down his spine as the surrounding space around him became somewhat distorted. His movements paused as he found it extremely hard to move.

’What’s happening?!’ He panicked.

Void, who had not made a move after the first attack, acted. He knew they could not allow these Peak Sovereigns escape, else the gray-haired beastman would not be satisfied as their plan was to kill off these powerhouses. The gray-haired beastman might be wary of Grey, but it did not mean he was afraid of him.

When Void stayed with them, he understood the reason the gray-haired beastman did not attack Grey, other than his wariness, the real reason was the opportunity he saw at taking over the Tempest Fang Clan’s territory. If not for this, the gray-haired beastman would have fought Grey to the very end.

Void knew his and Grey’s abilities, they might be shockingly strong, but there was only so much they could do against these Peak Sovereigns. Without external aid, they could only run away in the presence of such opponents.

The gray-haired beastman took this opportunity and made a deal with Grey, and Void did not want to fall out with them at the last moment.

After stopping the beastman from the Tempest Fang Clan, he turned to the white-clothed beastman who was still coughing blood and urged him to come attack the opponent. He could only keep a Peak Sovereign in place for a few seconds, so if the white-clothed beastman did not make a move, this beastman would escape.

The white-clothed beastman’s eyes shone as he saw Void helping him, although he was cursing at Grey in his heart, he appreciated this black cat. He could not help but wonder why such a powerful and strange Magical Beast would be accompanying such an annoying person like Grey.

Although the white-clothed beastman had so many thoughts in his head, he did not stand idly, using the chance to strike at the beastman from the Tempest Fang Clan.

Void’s hold over the beastman was broken the second the white-clothed beastman’s attack was about to hit. The beastman reacted quickly, but to his dismay, he was a few milliseconds late. He managed to keep his life, but a large gash currently ran from his shoulder all the way to his waist, and even his internal organs could be seen through the injury. His body was soon dyed with his own blood.

Roaring furiously, the beastman did not charge at the white-clothed beastman, nor did he aim for Void, he set his sights on none other than Grey who was helping the gray-haired beastman to take down their leader. His current injuries were very serious and he knew his death was imminent.

Void and the white-clothed beastman tried to stop him, but to their surprise, the beastman did not even spare them a glance, letting their attacks rain on his body as his aura soured.

’Damn it!’ Void quickly understood the beastman was burning his life essence at the moment to increase his strength.

Transmitting his voice over to Grey, he yelled, ’Watch out!’

Grey was focused on dealing with the leader of the Tempest Fang Clan, and he had to admit that this beastman was stronger than all the other Peak Sovereign beastmen he has encountered since entering this place. Even when assisted by the gray-haired beastman, they were still unable to take the overwhelming advantage. At the rate the battle was going, it would not only take them close to an hour to take him down, but they would also need to pay a serious price to accomplish this.

One has to know that when Grey assisted the beastwoman to deal with her opponent from the Tempest Fang Clan, it took Grey only a few minutes before they cut off one of his arms. Yet other than some superficial injuries, they had not done any significant damages to this beastman.

’If only I could get a helper like this.’ Grey could not hide his admiration for this beastman. Elementalists generally respected strength, so even though they were currently enemies, Grey acknowledged his opponent’s strength.

While he was still admiring this beastman, all his hair stood on end, and a sense of crisis overwhelmed him, which made him turn around sharply. As he was turning around, he not only heard Void’s warning, but he also sensed an aura that had seemingly crossed the threshold of a regular Peak Sovereign, bordering that of a Half God Plane expert.

The sight before him scared him out of his wits. He knew his capabilities, even though he could use various means to deal with Peak Sovereigns, he knew he was not their opponents, much less one that was almost a Half God Plane expert.
