But, before I departed, my mother ran up to me and hugged me, showering me with kisses and wishing me good luck on my future travels.
"If you ever get troubled by the others, then just call me. I'll be sure to beat them up for you,"
"Mhm… I love you," I muttered with a light blush, and as the woman embraced me one last time, I felt all of my worries about the future slowly disappear.
"I love you too… bye sweetie!" She shouted as I made my way down the stone path leading to civilization.
I waved her goodbye and continued walking, now shaking with anticipation about my future endeavors.
…
My next destination was a very strange place as it was something I had never experienced before… a place of extremely hot temperature.
Growing up, living, and basically just constantly being in a cold environment made me tempered to such a temperature but everything else… well, I was completely vulnerable to it.
Thankfully, during my time growing up here, I never experienced such a thing like "summer" which my mother always warned me about.
But, it seems I have to face this harsh challenge face on now.
"Ugh… shit…"
"Young Miss, please no profanity,"
"It's not like my parents are here anyway. And you three won't tell on me, right?" I turned to my maids, who were completely unaffected by the beating sun.
Currently, we were in the middle of a paved road, beaten and scorched by the hot sun, and I was waiting for somebody to pick me up.
I had no clue who was going to pick me up, but from what my mother told me, I'll know exactly who I was waiting for.
"Don't tell me…."
Just as I began to realize who was going to pick me up, a dreaded exuberant and an overly enthusiastic voice came ringing through the air.
In the distance, I saw a large-ass jeep, most likely meant for traversing strange things such as sand dunes, come riding up the road.
"Ugh… Auntie Clio came to pick me up. How horrible," I groaned as a woman at about six-feet tall poked her head out the side of her jeep.
She had tan skin but was tatted with various skinny and long tattoos from head to toe.
It wasn't enough to ruin her natural appearance, but the first thing anybody would notice was the tattoos that flowed from her cheeks to her neck, to her chest, arms, legs, torso, and legs.
And the only reason they could see this was because of the clothes that she constantly wore… they were extremely revealing.
"Aren't you embarrassed?" I muttered under my breath before the woman pulled up right next to me, pushing me off the road and onto the sidewalk.
"Well, it's hot as hell here. You wouldn't be wearing a sweatshirt and sweatpants in hell, right?" Auntie asked, somehow hearing me as she helped put my luggage into her trunk.
How did she hear me… I barely even cracked open my lips.
"Alright, honey, let's get going to the teleportation center. Sorry, your fiery mother and I don't have a direct teleporter connection. We don't see each other much, so there is no point in installing such an expensive thing," Auntie explained as I hopped into shotgun while my maids took a seat in the back row of the jeep.
It was pretty cramped back there, but they didn't complain the entire ride there.
"No problem," I replied and fixed my posture as she slammed on the gas pedal, nearly swerving into a line of cars.
"No need to be so uptight. You're not with your strict-ass mothers anymore,"
"Well, I just want to make them proud," I muttered with a soft smile, and as the woman in the driving seat stared at me with a sort of observant expression, she nearly crashed into another car again.
Ugh… get me out of this vehicle.
…
As soon as we arrived at the teleportation center, we took a backdoor to a private room with tons of guards that greeted my aunt.
"Auntie, is that how you really look? Your stench reminds me of a dragon,"
"Are you saying I smell, little girl?" She laughed before ruffling my hair as we walked down the hallway.
"Please don't be so rough with the Young Miss," My maid of death immediately stepped in, grabbing Auntie Clio's wrist.
Her cheerful expression slightly wavered just a bit before she turned towards my maid and expanded her smile even wider.
"Oh? And what does that matter to you…."
Her voice had the same cheerful aspect yet was more serious in some sense, but at least this tense atmosphere didn't last that long since we soon arrived at a massive teleporter.
"Is such a large thing necessary?" I asked since it was probably twenty times larger than your average human.
As I looked to my aunt, her smile twitched into a sly one.
"Well, we don't just transport humans with this teleporter. There are things other than humans who are of trafficable value,"
Just as we stepped onto the teleporter, I tugged on my aunt's clothes, garnering her attention as the people at a screen began to set up the teleportation.
"Yes?"
"Um… Do you capture bad or good humans?"
Her large smile wavered just a bit yet again before returning to normal, and her response was definitely a mix of truths and lies.
"Well, I do a mix of both… to say the least," She grinned before we were teleported to a teleporter perched on top of a massive sand palace.
It looked like a royal palace that you would see in ancient Egypt, exactly where I was right now.
"Welcome to my Teleportation Capital. I created this incredible place from scratch with hard work and tons of money,"
It was beautiful. So damn beautiful that I nearly cried.
The normal cold and calm places that I was always aware of were so different compared to this place, and goddamn… was it so beautiful.
"This place also has another name… The Metropolis of Gold and Riches,"
