"Let's get going… I'm sure we'll be chased until the end of this plane, but will you marry me?" I asked, a blush slowly creeping up my neck and to my face as I couldn't hold back my nerves.
"Y-Yes! I want to marry you! Please let me marry you!" She cried out with tears flowing from her eyes but a beautiful and large toothy smile making my heart beat so quickly that it felt like it was about to tear out of my chest.
"I love you, Synzer,"
"P-Please don't call me by that name,"
"Well, you'll have to get used to it since we're going to be marrying," I chuckled before flying off into the distance, escaping the quick watch of the kingdom's aerial force.
…
A few weeks have passed, and it seems the kingdom isn't intent on tracking us anymore, as the number of scouts who continuously passed through the forest was dwindling by the day.
It seems they had more important things to focus on, which was great for us since I built a little cabin with my girlfriend in the forest, and we slept, ate, and had fun inside of it.
For the first time in what seemed to be years, I was having fun. I was having so much fun with my day-to-day life.
With Lucy, you could say it was bearable, but now that I'm away from all the drama and violence, I didn't feel the need to constantly use my skills everyday.
I didn't feel the need to continuously watch my back in case somebody attempted to betray and backstab me.
I was content and absolutely happy with my life… I wouldn't have minded dying now, as long as I got to see my girlfriend one more time.
"Synzer~ I'm back," I called out to my beautiful dark elf girlfriend who popped her head out the corner of the bedroom and saw me, scurrying to do something with her hands.
Confused, I walked towards her and into the bedroom, and as I saw her hide something behind her back as soon as I stepped in, I smiled lightly.
"What is it? Come on," I attempted to coerce her, but she was intent on keeping what she was hiding a secret.
"You can't know until tonight. But anyway, we need some more food, so could you be a dear and go get some groceries?" Synzer asked, quickly changing the direction of the conversation.
I chuckled lightly before placing down the firewood I had just collected and heading off once again, only after a light kiss on her cheek.
It was a long walk to the main kingdom, but I didn't really mind it since it let me walk through the fresh green surroundings that I preferred much more than my usual snowy and white surroundings blanketed by the sheer cold.
As I took in the fresh air, the chirping of birds echoed through the atmosphere, and despite it being just a bit hotter than I would like, I still felt content.
Skipping through the forest was my favorite pastime as I was able to see all the animals instead of monsters that would always creep up on you whenever you entered some kind of forest or plane.
"What a wonderful place," I muttered.
Soon, after about two hours of walking, I finally arrived at the city and took a quick glance at the palace sitting atop the giant overarching mountain.
It was as grand as usual, and I couldn't help but stare at it with a bit of worry, hoping I wouldn't be found out again.
I took my usual route, which led me through the very outer edge of the city, exchanged some of the crops I had grown, received some money, and then bought some more meat and other vegetables that Synzer loved.
By the time I had finished grocery shopping, the sun had already set, and I was walking through the pitch-black forest.
Though, it wasn't nearly as scary as walking through a dark forest on the previous plane I was on since there were no monsters.
There might be the occasional wolf, but scaring them off was a breeze, and almost a piece of cake as glaring at them was more than enough to cause them to run away with their tails between their legs.
After another two hours of walking, I finally arrived back at the cabin, where Synzer greeted me from the front door and helped carry some of the groceries in.
"Thanks," I groaned before rubbing my sore back that hadn't been used in a while.
I was relaxing for probably a week until I was forced to go out and actually get us some sustainable food with the crops we grow in our backyard.
"You can go rest up. I'll prepare some dinner," Synzer said excitedly before giving me a push onto the couch and quickly skipping off, humming a sweet tune to herself as she prepared a delicious and mouth-watering stew.
My stomach was already growling from the smell of the various ingredients, and once the stew had been fully prepared, I nearly drank and ate all of its contents.
"Honey, slow down. You're gonna choke," Synzer said as she wiped my mouth a bit before I continued to dig in.
"But your food is amazing!" I exclaimed with my cheeks stuffed full of her amazing and well-thought-out food.
Not only did it taste amazing, but the herbs completely relaxed my mind, and the seasoning mixed with potions slowly made my soreness ease out of my body.
Once both of us were stuffed with food, we rolled onto the couch and just relaxed, watching some shows on the small device that was called television.
It was a pretty neat invention that let us have entertainment whenever we wanted, and this was the perfect thing for when we wanted to just wind down and relax.
But, I drifted off just a bit, and when I awoke, I found myself on the couch by myself, assuming Synzer had gone to our bed to sleep.
So, I quickly made my way to the bedroom, rubbing my tired eyes, though as soon as I creaked it open, I found Synzer on one knee, holding out a pair of rings that she presented to me.
"Since you kept forgetting to get the rings, I decided that I would do it today," She smirked proudly, and as my heart nearly skipped a beat, I helped Synzer up and hugged her tightly.
"W-When though? Did you somehow slip past me?"
"It was obviously this morning, idiot," She chuckled before I sat down on the bed, and she straddled my hips.
She lifted up my ring finger and seductively licked it before slipping the ring onto my finger and placing it on her own.
"Shall we have some fun?"
"Just a bit," I chuckled before Synzer went in for a passionate kiss, so I matched her energy and turned her over, so her back was against the bed.
I felt her arms wrap around me, preventing me from escaping her grasp, but I wasn't planning on escaping anytime soon as I continued to make out with her.
"I love you,"
"I love you much more," Synzer muttered before bringing me in for yet another kiss.
…
The next morning, I awoke to the sight of Synzer's adorable sleeping face, and the marks that I had left all over her neck and chest last night were still prominent.
"If I can find another potion that lets me grow one, then we could possibly have a child… hmmmmm… let's just focus on her for now," I muttered while stroking my wife's face ever so lightly until she woke up.
As she rubbed her eyes, I placed my arm around her waist, and once she opened them back up, we locked lips yet again.
"Ugh… go brush your teeth," She chuckled before pushing me away and slowly getting out of bed.
As I laughed with her, we made our way to the spring and pond just outside of the cabin, where we bathed together until we were completely clean and fresh.
She had also made sure to bring our toothbrushes because I often forgot to brush my teeth, and Synzer would always have to tell me.
I mean, in the colosseum, brushing our teeth was a privilege that we got every week or so… Sometimes, we would even go two weeks without brushing our teeth… and now that I think about it, it was kind of gross.
Soon, we made our way back into the cabin, where it was my turn to prepare breakfast, so I made us some easy ham and eggs with a side of fresh toast that I quickly prepared.
But, just as we began to eat, there was a knock on our door.
Both of our eyes went cold as I walked over to the front door and slowly opened it, revealing a man dressed in black from head to toe.
"I have come here with a message from the demon king,"
