The Rise of Quetzalcoatl

Chapter 263: Dukedom of Frosty Planes vs The Second Dark Army (Final)

My eyes flashed a dim gray color as they moved to the dark elf, who had completely regenerated everything but had a large burn scar across his neck and left cheek.

"*cough* *cough* *cough* *cough* *cough*... Motherfucker," He muttered angrily before wrapping himself in shadows once more.

His twin short swords that he practically used like daggers clashed with my flames, but they soon overwhelmed him in a wave of agony.

He screamed in pain as his shadows ran ramped, nowhere to escape to under the bright light of my glistening fire.

"It seems I've underestimated you," A cold voice infiltrated my ear, and I snapped my head to the side, seeing the general still standing on his fire giant… but this time with a cold glare that stared right at me.

"Are you gonna come down, or will you continue to cower in fear up there?" I smirked, and the man's glare was even more intense.

My flames began to spread to the dark elf below me, his crying and pleading for help almost a reward for all of my efforts… but I knew holding him captive was useless.

He had already sent a dragon made of pure bones flying toward me, and its blue flames were definitely powerful but not powerful enough to stop me.

BAM

I slammed my foot onto the ground, creating a massive wall of ice that crept up into the dragon flying above and encasing it in a shell of frozen water.

"Now, what to do with you," I muttered to myself while glancing down at the loyal dark elf below me.

He had fallen so far from the general's right-hand man as he gripped onto my foot, begging for mercy or something like that.

It was hard to hear him over all the screaming and crying of soldiers. On top of that, the cheers that I received from entering the battlefield were nearly overwhelming.

"VICTORY TO THE EMPIRE!" I shouted at the top of my lungs.

"VICTORY TO THE EMPIREEEEEE!" The rest of my soldiers announced, scaring off tons of the adventurers and dark elves that got near me.

"What should I do now?" Tiana asked.

"Get some rest. You look like you're about to drop dead," I suggested while only scanning over her once, and that one scan was more than enough to see that she had fought well.

"No, I can still fight some more-"

I quickly caught her as she fainted into my arms and returned her to the rear, where a medical base had been set up by the adventurers.

Tons of healers were at work, some looking as if they hadn't slept in days from the amount of mana being drained out of them.

Their cycle was literally to just heal somebody entirely, drink a mana potion, report the process and result and then repeat. Repeat until they either fainted as well or ran away from the impending doom slowly creeping near.

All of a sudden, the fire giants who stood tall began to topple backwards into the army around them, crushing thousands of soldiers.

"Seems Cora is letting out some pent-up stress," I chuckled before returning to the battlefield, where I saw my soldiers now pushing back the dark elves.

The new armor that we had forged was amazing, but I could tell the drawbacks would be immense once the war had ended… in fact, some might even die, but I made sure to keep that a secret from them all.

Once everybody had been hyped up once again from a few encouraging words of mine, the battle was quickly tipping in our favor.

The necromancer, on the other hand… was doing absolutely nothing.

And, just like that… all of the resurrected forces began to retreat back to the wall, but we weren't going to let them go just yet.

I jumped up into the air and spread my skeletal wings, allowing me to fly straight at the necromancer, who was as cool as a cucumber.

FWOOSH

But all of a sudden, a pile of blue flames came crashing from above me like a tsunami. It was so powerful that I could barely keep it away from me with my own flames.

"What the hell," I muttered to myself and then realized how this could possibly be a trap that used the adrenaline of my soldiers.

So, I quickly backed away and noticed the blue flames coming from the necromancer, who still seemed to be unphased by me.

"ALL SOLDIERS HALT! DO NOT CHASE AFTER THE RETREATING ARMY! I REPEAT! DO NOT CHASE AFTER THE RETREATING ARMY!" I shouted at the top of my lungs before having a few of my soldiers secretly chase after the army.

I needed to know if my assumption was correct; otherwise, this would've been a huge waste… though it seems I didn't need to wait much longer as a few stupid adventurers charged straight after, only to be decimated by an explosive mine of blue flames.

They were completely scorched and burned to ash, causing all of the other chasing adventures to take a step back.

"COMMANDER! ARE WE LETTING THEM GO!?" One of my soldiers asked, so I quickly took action with the next part of my plan.

"EVERYONE CIRCLE AROUND THE SAME WAY WE CAME! CORA! CAN YOU TAKE THE LEAD?! I WILL MAKE SURE NOBODY STEPS INTO THE FIELD!"

"SURE!" Cora shouted back before landing in front of the army and quickly molding them into a large line that followed straight after her.

CRACK

But all of a sudden, a rift formed in the sky, and the clouds seemingly shattered like glass.

From the breaking glass, three figures came crashing down like meteors, already burning up from entering the atmosphere of this plane.

I decided to take a closer look by squinting as I wanted to see if it was some sort of skill… but what I saw made me nearly break down in tears right then and there.

Mia… Clio… And Ethel… They're here… how… why… what?

As they came crashing down towards me, I hesitated just long enough for a piece of my army to inevitably hit a mine of blue flames, sending them up in fire and burning them into ash.

"ARGHHHHHHH!"

Their cries of agony and pain rang throughout the entire plane, causing me to snap back awake and focus on the task at hand.

But, my heart irked me as I ran away from them, only to swallow the sinking feeling in my chest as soon as I saw my soldiers step on yet another mine.

"LUCY! DO YOUR FUCKING JOB!" Cora shouted before fending off a scouting party of around twenty dark elves who almost completely overwhelmed the head of the line.

"I-I got it!" I shouted back before increasing my senses to the max and directing my soldiers around the trail of traps laid out for them.

After about half a day of chasing, we reached the wall and immediately hit something that made our hearts nearly stop.

It was a wall of all the fallen comrades… and it was just their skeletons.

[Sacred Power: Land of the Frozen Istikip]

All of a sudden, the scenery around me in a five-mile radius turned into an icy wonderland, leaving absolutely nothing but my soldiers alive.

Even some of the adventures who tagged along were frozen to death immediately, putting me above most of the S-rank adventurers.

My hand slowly waved upwards, sending a blast of ice that quickly formed behind the final fire giant that the necromancer was riding on.

"Goddammit… This is too much fun," I muttered with adrenaline pumping through me and widening my expressionless face into a large grin.

The adrenaline was almost addicting as I rose up into the sky, my skeletal wings freezing to create large phoenix wings that were quadruple my size.

I swiped my hand up upon seeing my mountain of ice quickly crush the opposing army, but just as it was about to reach the necromancer, a blast of blue flames quickly set back my powers.

I cursed internally before spreading my ice in the air, widening and consuming the flames from the sides while I quickly approached the threatening death mage from below.

TING

Ripping straight through the ice and flames, I clashed with the necromancer, who blocked my sword of ice with a sword of bones.

This sword of bones was soon enveloped in a blast of blue flames that quickly tried to swallow me whole.

But, just as the fire nipped my head, my hair turned into literal ice, which spread out and froze the surrounding moisture.

CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG

On the fire giant's enormous shoulder, we clashed and clashed, both testing our skills with only one of us looking down on each other.

If this guy is still holding back… then this is the perfect chance to win.

All of a sudden, snowmen came crawling out of the icy layer that I had spread below, seemingly to make the necromancer slip up.

"This is the true power of this skill," I muttered with a smile as the snowmen gripped onto the necromancer, shocking him as he didn't expect this in the slightest.

He panicked a bit and unleashed a wave of flames… that I quickly slipped through and stabbed the necromancer straight in the chest.

"Girl… I'm already dead."

"Who said I was trying to pierce a heart?"
