The Rise of Quetzalcoatl

Chapter 262: Dukedom of Frosty Planes vs The Second Dark Army (8)

How was he able to create more undead without any vessels that could actually crawl out of the ground?

With [Necromancy], I had a much easier time sensing corpses underground, but he was able to pull things that didn't exist out of it.

"He is too highly skilled. With such high proficiency, you can create undead out of thin air as long as you have the mana, but it seems the idea of resurrecting the already fallen corpses slipped through his mind. Raise them now before he remembers," My maid of death suggested, and I slapped myself for not even realizing.

Such an obvious piece of information, yet I didn't even think of using it… but, now that I was aware of it, I snapped my fingers and muttered,

"[Necromancy],"

Suddenly, the air began to bend as if a godly being had descended, and my maid of death couldn't help but choke on the deathly thick air that invaded her sinuses.

"Damn, Mistress… You're strong as hell- oh, never mind," She muttered as she saw me almost topple off my horse.

The number of corpses that were gripped by an invisible hand of death was so many that I could barely keep my consciousness.

Everything began to spin around me, but after feeling an ice-cold hand hit my back, I was rejuvenated with even more mana.

"I will only do this once," My maid of death muttered, and I gave her a tiny smile before redirecting my eyes back at the battlefield.

Some of the previously strongest adventurers that dove in head first to get the initial push was resurrected from the dead and began to fend off the stupid fire giants.

On the other hand, each and every corpse, whether it was a tundra snake or possibly a dark elf, was resurrected to fight against their own kind.

With their matching speed, it became a stalemate, and with my own men who fought with their lives on the line and didn't underestimate the enemy, we completely overwhelmed them.

It was almost unfair the way my men took advantage of the freshly reborn corpses.

Soon, I redirected my eyes back at the general who sat proud on his fire giant, still looking down on my men, who overwhelmed his own men.

But, the skeleton army that he had raised soon joined the fight, and it became a stalemate once more, with the skeletons only dying upon having their heads shattered.

Most of my men used swords, so their weapons shattered almost instantly upon clanging against the hard skulls, but their overwhelming strength allowed them to crack it.

In order to finish them off, their black armor coated their fists and served as gauntlets which helped completely crush each and every single one of the gross skeletons.

They were still coated in rotten flesh while my corpses had shed their mortal muscles and tendons to have just their skeleton do their bidding.

Their flesh had also disintegrated, creating room for the rest of the battle to take place.

"I see… so he also has a limit on his mana," I muttered after feeling my mana begin to drain once again, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the initial drain from resurrecting so many corpses.

But, I was disappointed that I couldn't resurrect the fire giants as they don't really die but just deactivate upon having their cores destroyed.

There is also no mortal flesh or skeleton for me to take advantage of… maybe a shadow lord, but as a necromancer, I can only control the undead.

"Mistress, it seems Tiana has begun to struggle. I suggest you support her with your own power. Taking out the general's right-hand man will be beneficial towards the end of the war once everybody begins to tire out," My maid of flames suggested as she signaled to me a very important detail.

Both the powerful knight that I had sent over and Tiana began to struggle against the dark elf's seemingly endless stamina… but that doesn't mean he wasn't struggling from their own power.

He was littered with cuts and bruises but didn't show any signs of giving up yet, meaning I had to take action fast.

The constitution of a dark elf was unique as they couldn't really feel pain, but in order to make up for this fact, their regeneration had become almost unstoppable.

That, of course, disappeared with the ones I resurrected as if they get a large wound; they just topple down the corpses they are.

"Shit… he's baiting them so hard," I muttered through gritted teeth, and after taking one last glance at the arrogant general, I rode my horse towards the small skirmish while my maids traveled back inside of me.

As soon as I arrived, I truly felt the menacing power of Tiana, but also the power of the dark elf who was warped in layers of shadows.

They served as a sort of armor, but even shadows have a limit as he was getting cut… but they didn't regenerate.

He was using the cuts and bruises to make him look weak and keep the duo pushing hard onto him, which is why they were so exhausted already.

"Smart elfy boy," I muttered, suddenly appearing behind him and grabbing the back of his head with the palm of my hand.

A blast of green flames enveloped not only him but also me, creating a sole dark silhouette that stood in the middle of the rapidly spreading green flames.

My eyes flashed a dim gray color as they moved to the dark elf who had completely regenerated everything but had a large burn scar across his neck and left cheek.

"*cough* *cough* *cough* *cough* *cough*... Motherfucker," He muttered angrily before wrapping himself in shadows once more.

His twin short swords that he practically used like daggers clashed with my flames, but they soon overwhelmed him in a wave of agony.

He screamed in pain as his shadows ran ramped, nowhere to escape to under the bright light of my glistening fire.

"It seems I've underestimated you," A cold voice infiltrated my ear and I snapped my head to the side, seeing the general still standing on his fire giant… but this time with a cold glare that stood right at me.
