"Watchu smirking for?" I asked, my temper already pushing the lid off of my brain and the steam slowly leaking out of my ears.
"That's a good wake-up call you just gave these bastards," Cora muttered before taking her exit, the rest of the knights following after her.
I sat down on the rocking chair in the corner of the room, and my maids just stood beside me nervously, fidgeting with their hands.
"W-Would you like some tea?" My maid of flames asked, and my sigh was more than enough to tell her to hurry up.
I should just do this shit all by myself.
…
"Hey, what's the limit to my [Necromancy]? You must have an idea, right? I still want to be able to use my fire skills, so is there a limit or amount or cap I reach before losing all of my mana and control?" I asked my maid of death, who stood beside me, smiling and almost giggling to herself.
Currently, we were in practically her natural habitat, a massive graveyard for every single soldier that has ever died in this dukedom… and it was massive, expansive, and absolutely terrifying.
The number of corpses here could easily allow me to create an army of fifty thousand strong, but I still don't know what my limit is yet.
"I may not have access to my necromancy all the time, but before, I was able to create an army of about two-hundred thousand. And judging from your power, it might be around twenty-thousand to twenty-five-thousand,"
"I see… that's still not enough, though. One fire giant easily equals a thousand," I muttered, but my maid of death just stared at me with squinted eyes.
"You… have you ever fought as a necromancer?"
"Of course I have, but I'm not all-powerful like you. I don't have unlimited mana and an endless pool of stamina, okay?"
"A-Ah… forgive me… b-but if I may comment?"
She looked at me with pitiful and almost puppy-like eyes before I groaned and let her speak with a wave of my hand.
"Well, how about not going into battle with an army of the undead? How about you kill one monster and then resurrect that? The monsters are much stronger than these humanoid-looking things… Also, why not work with your subordinates? I mean, they're free to use at your disposal,"
"Well, if I go in there, I'll just end up with a pile of corpses and an army of undead anyway… they won't be doing much if we full-on attack them at their base,"
"You don't want to follow through with your initial plan of letting them attack first and allowing us to sneak attack them from the back?"
I looked down at the ground for a second before looking back at my maid, who stared deeply into my eyes.
"Don't tell me… you don't want any of them to die? Wow, I heard you were a cold woman who would do anything to get her way… but I guess you weren't so cold,"
"If it wasn't for that shitty kid… I wouldn't be thinking about this," I muttered to myself while biting down on the fleshy web of my hand.
"Okay, so the problem is that you care too much, is that right? Is that what I'm getting at right now?" The maid chuckled a bit but quickly shut up upon feeling my eyes trace her heart.
"Lemme ask you something. Why do you obey me? You could easily kill me, or is it due to the system? Did you sign up for something?"
"Once again… It is due to my Master and Mistress, but I can not say anything else… So, are you going to create an army or work with your army? Will you choose the safe and cold option or the warm and risky option?"
"*sigh*... What am I doing? Safe and cold option is the obvious choice," I muttered to myself before clapping my hands twice.
The groans of the undead permeated through the air, chiming the bell to the beginning of this battle.
I could feel it… a strong sense of animosity welling up inside of me.
…
(Unknown POV)
"Sir, the preparations are ready. When shall I give the signal to start moving?" My faithful and loyal knight asked.
Slowly, I stood up from my throne of bones and exited my large tent, moving aside the curtains and allowing me to spread my wings of bones.
I flapped them slowly, ever so slowly, until I reached the pinnacle of my army: A large mindless fire giant who ruled over the other ones beneath it.
I looked over my army of dark elves and massive fire giants who were able to clobber the wall at any given moment.
If they wanted to, they could easily destroy my army of dark elves, so if it wasn't for the sacred mind control ring, I would've had no army to lead.
Fire giants are troublesome things to tame, but the payoff is ever so worth it.
Nobody expects them to be this big. Maybe a few hundred feet in the air… but no… they're at least a hundred meters in the air.
Some of them, their heads pierce the clouds, and some are no bigger than a mountain… but a mountain is a mountain, and a mountain is the pinnacle of sturdiness.
As I hopped down from the fire giant, I spread my boney wings to slow my descent.
Slowly, I looked up and down my status, making sure everything was prepared.
"What was her name again?" I asked my loyal knight, who brought me a cloth to wipe my hands from the dirt of the fire giant.
"Commander Lucy, otherwise known as the Third Blade of Alchemy,"
"Blade of Alchemy? What an interesting name,"
"Well, all of them were personally brewed within the Empire's very own colosseum… How interesting. All of them are like her children,"
"And what does she specialize in?"
"Powerful green fire, a bit weaker ice, and… death,"
"Kekeke… Death? Okay, I see. Bring it on then… We'll see who the stronger necromancer is,"
