"Well, they are mine, of course, so they have to be strong. And… you haven't seen their full power yet, so you should be expecting much more,"
"Will do,"
Soon, I dismissed her and laid back in my chair, feeling my maid of death begin to give my tight neck a massage.
"Mistress, I can sense you are lonely. Are we not enough?" My maid asked, and I slowly bent my head backward to look her in the eyes.
"Yes. I miss Mia very much… I'm also worried she might not even be alive. In fact, my sisters might not be alive. They could be dead right now for all I care, and here I am… stuck in this ice-cold plane,"
…
A few more days had passed, and we were saying goodbye to Tiana and her newly formed group that had various experienced fighters.
They were all given orders to listen to Tiana, but if they were to betray me as their first command, I was going to get rid of them in an instant.
There was also her initial group of subordinates from when they were defending the entrance to the secret passage through the wall.
Most of them were entirely loyal to her, but some were spies planted by the enemy, so I quickly disposed of them.
"I wish you good luck," I said as the unicorn kicked up their legs and Tiana disappeared into the distance, her subordinates following right after.
"Damn, she didn't even say anything back. You must've really angered her," Cora smirked, and I just looked at her with a deadpanned expression.
"You might as well have been sucking on her tits. Did you manage to extract anything from her? Anything at all?"
"Nope… but let's focus on the matter at hand,"
Soon, we arrived back at our cabin, where the present high-ranking knights of my army were present, sitting at the large table.
My maids soon served them some delicious home-brewed tea which eased their nerves and calmed their minds.
Cora and I sat down at the table, bringing the pressure back in and being a sign for my maids to step back at let the discussion begin.
"Now, the current topic at hand. The opposing monsters are planning to attack soon, in two weeks, to be specific. We have two choices, and that is to ambush them with an army or possibly attack them before they can gather their full forces,"
But, just before anybody else could voice their opinion, Cora raised her hands, and her cold eyes quickly shut everybody up.
"Do not speak unless we give you permission… but let me voice my opinion first,"
A few people were a bit unsatisfied and grumbled under their breath, but as they couldn't do anything about her orders, they just sat there, waiting for their turn.
"I believe we should attack them before they've gathered their forces. We can't face them head-on, and attacking them when they are unprepared is our best bet," Cora announced, and mostly everybody nodded their heads in agreement.
"I disagree," I spoke up, and everybody swiveled their heads towards me, confused as to why I would object.
"I believe our best bet is to ambush them when they cross the wall. We should also predict that chaos will ensue amongst the dukedom, but with a slim chance, the comrade I just received will help neutralize that. They will also build up some defense for the dukedom… but we will ultimately sacrifice them," I muttered, my cold words permeating through the air.
A few glares were set on me, but with a swift shift of my eyes, they quickly diverted their pupils away from me.
"So you want to sacrifice the innocent?" Cora asked, voicing my opinion even louder than before.
"Our objective is to defeat the impending danger, not defend the dukedom," I said, and there was an immediate uproar.
Words of how innocent and pitiable the citizens were continued to flare through the atmosphere, raging like a forest fire.
BAM
My hand, coated in green flames, blasted a handprint straight through the wooden table, causing everybody to shut up once again and direct their silent complaints right at me.
Their eyes crawled all over my skin, but I wasn't going back down.
"Then you all should hope this comrade of mine succeeds… Diving into the enemy camp is suicide. Us commanders may be stronger than the strongest enemy commanders, but you all are unaware of how strong fire giants are. I faced one of the smaller ones, no- a half breed inside the colosseum, and that bastard was able to practically uproot the kingdom with raw strength,"
Everybody swallowed a drop of saliva as I began to lose my patience with these idiotic bunch.
Just because they have feelings for the dukedom doesn't give them the right to be selfish and completely defend themselves from all harm.
"You think I want to do this? I also love the people and how kind they are, but a reformation needs to be set in place. The dukedom is corrupted to the core and! AND! If we attempt to go without sacrifice, even more innocents could die in the neighboring capital and cities… SO THINK GODDAMMIT! USE THOSE FEEBLE BRAINS OF YOURS AND SCRATCH THAT SINGEL BRAIN CELL FOR ONE SECOND!" I shouted before standing up and slamming my hands on the table, cracking it in half.
Everybody was silent, including Cora, who just smiled lightly.
"Watchu smirking for?" I asked, my temper already pushing the lid off of my brain and the steam slowly leaking out of my ears.
"That's a good wake-up call you just gave these bastards," Cora muttered before taking her exit, the rest of the knights following after her.
I sat down on the rocking chair in the corner of the room, and my maids just stood beside me nervously, fidgeting with their hands.
"W-Would you like some tea?" My maid of flames asked, and my sigh was more than enough to tell her to hurry up.
I should just do this shit all by myself.
