The Rise of Quetzalcoatl

Chapter 252: Mass of Tentacles and A Strange Black Core

And as my arm came swinging down, the entire village turned into an icy wonderland with nothing escaping my icy wrath.

The entire place had frozen over, and even the tree line right behind the village was frozen over, some of them even breaking and toppling into the frozen-over village.

Houses shattered like glass, and dark elves crumbled into chunks of frozen meat.

A small cloud escaped my mouth as I breathed out and touched my cheeks, feeling the frost slowly crawling up my face.

"Seems my body still has limits,"

"When were you able to do this?" Cora smirked as we all stayed perched in the trees, trying to identify anybody who managed to slip out.

"Since I evolved. My powers have practically doubled, but my flame has become the most deadly thing. At full power, I can barely control it, so I mostly just use it on a battlefield," I replied, but all of a sudden, the branch shook.

I twisted my head to see the other member look as confused as I was, so I shifted my head back to the village… and what was displayed almost shook us to the core.

Large shadowy tentacles came bursting out of the ground, creating a massive pit that swallowed the frozen village whole.

And inside of this pit was a slimy and moving mass of abyss-like tentacles, which grossed everybody out immediately.

"Everyone split up. Surround the pit from the trees. We'll only make our move when it attacks us, or that thing crawls out," I order the entire group.

My subordinates followed my orders swiftly and created a perimeter to where nothing could escape, even these tentacles, which were softer than we thought.

SHING SHING SHING

Of course, this thing noticed us and began to try and pick us out of the trees, but each time it stabbed a tentacle at us, we were able to easily slice through it like butter.

The smell was horrible, but it was bearable… though, the seemingly endless amount of tentacles sent a shiver down my spine.

"Looks like my girlfriend and me on a Friday night," I chuckled before lighting the tentacle up in flames and attempting to push it down into the massive interesting mass below us, but it was immediately cut off by its host.

"You're gonna make me throw up," Cora gagged before freezing an entire tentacle with fiery red ice.

Her power had increased significantly since the last time I saw her as not only was the ice more sturdy, but it was faster and much clearer.

It was kind of foggy on the inside before, but now this was just glass.

"I was just joking. We use regular dild-"

"I don't want to hear anymore while looking at this thing… please…." Cora begged as we destroyed a few more tentacles.

This process repeated for at least a few minutes, and I knew dragging this out any longer would be detrimental to the stamina of my subordinates.

I could go for a few more days, but I know the limits of my underlings, and I knew how terribly weak they could be.

But, just as I was about to jump onto the bursting tentacle and ride it into the pit of disgusting limbs, a burst of ice was created in my peripheral vision.

It was stronger than anything my subordinates could create, and it was a normal, foggy ice blue, meaning Cora didn't create it.

"Who… wait… ahhh… fuck…." I muttered as I saw a familiar face dash towards the pit of tentacles, and their dark blue hair waved behind her.

She was almost majestic as she ran towards the threat, her eyes unwavering and the unicorn below her ready to give up their life for the one who they served their entire life.

And just like that, the unicorn was swatted into oblivion, leaving the woman to charge forward and continuously dodge the tentacles, but…

"You're too slow," I muttered as I picked her up and brought her to Cora, who was just dangling her legs on the tree branch.

"H-Huh? W-Where did you come from?" The woman asked as I slowly placed her down from the princess carry.

"We were already here. You just interfered and lost your precious unicorn," I muttered, and the woman looked down, disappointed in herself.

"Were there any people following you? Any subordinates?" Cora asked, and suddenly, as the woman turned her head towards her, Cora's face burst into a bright tomato red.

"Mommy,"

"Huh?"

"Nothing," She muttered before waving me goodbye as I jumped down from the branch and landed on an extended tentacle, trying to knock the tree over.

My landing caused it to refocus on me and bend back, but I was too fast for it as I ran across the rest of it, diving into the pit of tentacles coated in green flames.

I unleashed them like I opened the gate to hell and let them completely coat the beast below me, causing it to screech and ear-tearing cry.

It sounded as if nails were being scratched along a chalkboard, and my ear drums began to bleed with me right in the center of it.

Gritting my teeth, I resisted the pain and increased the output to my very limit, burning the thing into ash but leaving a small black sphere to plop onto the ground.

Well, it was small compared to the rest of the beast but compared to me, it was about triple my height.

My subordinates soon gathered around me, but everybody else was as confused as I was, unaware of the thing presented to us.

"Anybody know what this thing this?" I asked, just to make sure, but expecting nothing.

Nobody spoke up, including Cora, who I expected to maybe know a bit more than everybody else.

"I guess I'll just ask my maids,"

"Do you know what it is?" I asked my maids, who intently stared at the giant black ball, which I assumed to be some sort of monster core.

That was the only thing I could hypothesize.

"It's… a material which we could definitely use to make good armor… but what it is? I don't really know,"
