Glug… Glug… Glug…
Time seemed to slow down as the massive water arrow bubbled and expanded into a grotesque fish-like sea monster that opened its jaws to its max.
It had glowing white lights as eyes, and as it swallowed the demon, the inside of its mouth created massive spikes that pierced the demon.
"ARGHHHHH!"
The demon screamed in pain as the fish passed through him, leaving him to drop limply to the ground while trying to gather as much power into his palm.
I noticed there was a small rune on it, so without hesitation, I shot a massive spear of ice, blowing his hand away and then stabbing the vampire behind.
It seems the vampires wanted to get some of the XP as they were staring hungrily at the dying demon lying before us.
"Piss off," I said while unleashing my bloodlust, causing the vampire to flinch ever so slightly.
As they immediately tried to look for the exit, the other girls watched them intently, and in the end, they acted as how I expected.
All of the vampires were shredded in an instant, and Charna sadistically tortured them just for a bit.
[You have slain a High Ranking Demon]
[Reward has been granted]
A small black orb slowly floated down towards the center of my palm, and upon grasping it within my hand, a rush of darkness filled my veins.
It was cold and menacing, just like bloodlust.
If you could condense a high amount of bloodlust or killing intent into a solid piece of equipment, this would most likely be it.
"What is it?" I asked, but the system revealed absolutely nothing.
It was a bit confusing, but in the end, I decided to just store it in my inventory.
The name for this item was: Demon Core.
"Well, at least that is some information," I muttered before watching the demon's corpse slowly fade away into ash that dispersed with the underground gust.
"*sigh*... Couldn't we have shaped the terrain to our liking? Why only limit ourselves to the sand biome?" Electra asked as she unleashed a blast of ice from her feet.
It froze over the sand and created a mini domain for her to stand in a while, feeling as comfortable as possible.
I noticed over the years that the girls feel safe and satisfied whenever with they are with their respective elements.
That is also why Charna sometimes sleeps in the shadows because it's like a warm and relaxing blanket for her.
"Alrighty, let's get the hell out of here," I muttered, and Clio immediately opened up a hole straight to the surface.
But, it seemed that was a bad idea as the water came crashing through, so once we realized we were under the ocean, we just activated our necklaces.
Vwoop
We teleported into our base, which immediately greeted us with a freezing temperature, and even frost had gathered near the bottom of the metal base.
We tidied it up with some furniture and lots of rugs, but it was still like a massive oven or refrigerator, depending on which setting our ac was turned on.
"Do you think Auntie is here?" Nuala asks.
"Probably not. She's probably busy with her duties as a brave at the front lines or something… or she could just be sitting back and relaxing in some unknown beautiful paradise," I responded.
"It's most likely the second one,"
"No, it's definitely the second one,"
"*sigh*... Alright, we just beat a demon, so how about we stop talking about that old lady and discuss what we had just encountered," Mia immediately broke up the negative conversation.
"Well, that demon was very strong. If I didn't prepare that skill early into the fight, we all probably would've been wiped out," Ethel says.
She's not wrong.
"Can we sit down? My legs hurt…." Amanda complained.
"My bad, I think I broke your legs earlier when I was bouncing around, feeling the dragon scales across my body," Aria immediately apologized.
"It's whatever," She responded, uncaring as she just wanted to hop onto the comfy couch.
For the next few hours, we discussed and discussed until most of us fell asleep, leaving just me and Mia awake.
"Do you like the unknown?" Mia suddenly asks as we are cuddling with each other.
And in order to get the maximum amount of love, I slipped underneath her now clean and nice smelling sweatshirt while rubbing my face across her neck.
"Not really. I mean, you don't know what is in the unknown. That's the most frightening part, in my opinion,"
"I think that's the only opinion," Mia chuckled before giving me a kiss on the top of the head.
"G'night,"
"Good night," She responded as I sleepily closed my eyes.

"Goddammit! SERVANT! GO GET ME SOME BOOZE!" I shouted as I needed something to calm down after hearing the news of my dead son.
He might've not been a full demon, but he was extremely important to the family and an irreplaceable asset to the close family.
He was even in succession for the line of Demon King.
As a measly duke, I couldn't run for Demon King, but my talented son who even created his own organization on the mainland could've easily become king.
"FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!" I shouted continuously as I tore apart my office and then removed everything with a shadow portal.
"Honey, please calm down. The invasion will be starting soon so you mustn't lose your cool,"
"I know…. Shit!"
