The Rise of Quetzalcoatl

Chapter 181: Short Mission (1)

"It tickles," I giggled a bit as she worked her way up my back and to my neck, scratching it a bit.

"Well, the tickle monster is coming to get you then!" She shouted and we began to have a wholesome time together as she began to tickle me in bed.

The next morning, we all met up before leaving LA as we needed to plan out our trip and book a hotel that we could stay in for a while.

But for some reason, all the hotels in Texas where we are planning on starting our investigation, are packed, so we were all forced to share one hotel room.

I mean, at least it was big.

As soon as we finished our short trip through the teleporter, we walked through yet another, plain-looking city.

Nothing was different and as we had a few hours until the check-in time, we decided to clear a few of the dungeons around.

First, there was this B-Rank dungeon which had some familiar monsters that I was way too bent on killing.

"Damn centipedes… Today you'll finally meet your end," I muttered as I began to solo the entire dungeon myself.

We've become so strong that dungeons like these are practically no problem, but to be honest, the eyes which stalked the strongest dungeons in the world had lost their flame.

I wanted to raid all the strongest dungeons in the world, but I felt that was unneeded and just something I could do in my own free time… if the world doesn't end.

It was obvious that the Monster Paradise have begun their expansion and cults wanting to follow these disgusting and horrid creatures have risen.

The rewards were also boring as usual, most of the time just being weapons that would break under a sliver of our strength… or an opponent's strength.

"You know, I just realized that Auntie was training us to fight humans… not monsters. Everything that we learned works perfectly against humans but is risky against monsters," Electra said, shocking everybody as nobody expected her to come to such a conclusion by herself.

"Why do you say that?" Clio asks as the sickles made of sand dissipate into the dungeon floor.

She was able to slightly control the sand, but not to the point of Anubis's power. She probably only had about one-one-thousandth of his power.

"I don't know… It's just a logical conclusion," Electra muttered.

"Woah, I've never thought I'd see the day you'd say such a smart thing," Nuala chuckled before wrapping her arm around Electra's shoulder.

"Yes, I've already reached that conclusion," I suddenly spoke up but it wasn't as surprising.

"I was actually the one who came up with the idea so don't go taking all the credit to yourself. I remember when you couldn't deal with the fact that your new mommy was such a bitch," Mia laughed and received my death-piercing glare.

"Mia…"

"My bad," She replied but just as Ethel was about to speak up, we were teleported out of the dungeon in an instant.

A few days have passed and we've finally adjusted from the jet lag and we've laid out our plan which I helped create in the beginning but got the help of the other girls towards the end.

"First, the obvious one. Infiltrate the info bureau," Charna muttered and as she sunk into the shadows, we laid back on the couches, killing our emotions.

"It's been a while since we've done this," Aria muttered and the rest of us just nodded in agreement.

Athena was out getting groceries for tonight, but if everything goes according to plan, we should be able to kill the monster here before she even gets back.

So close to evolving… These monsters that are lurking in the human world definitely give tons of XP, which is essential for us as we are preparing for the worst.

But, all of a sudden, an idea that I thought I had shoved to the back of my mind resurfaced.

"What if we just… attack the Monster Paradise from within instead of waiting for them to invade our world at their peak… Ugh, I'm so stupid. How could I shove this away?" I muttered and not even a few seconds later, Charna returned to the room.

Bloodlust lined each and every corner of the room and as we followed Charna out of the door, we already knew what to do.

It was almost as natural as breathing.

Hints and traces of lingering magic have been sighted, but as its classified information could get the country in trouble, they stored it away.

Most of it came from the center of Texas as if the monster here was preparing a large attack.

Maybe that is also why we found lots of shadow stone users hiding in the shadows, stalking the movement of everybody passing by.

In order to work better and not cause any ruckus, we had to get rid of them which was simple.

Charna simply threw them out of their shadow towards us and we sliced, pierced, and stabbed him in every place possible.

Then they were torn to parts.

After repeating this process exactly twelve times in just one minute, we arrived at the shadows of the massive fountain which marked the very center of Texas.

I don't know when this was made, but judging by the quality, it seemed fairly new.

'Let's begin,'
