The Most Powerful Bodyguard

Chapter 91: Not a Ghost

Time flew by, and they had already been in here for almost two hours.

For some reason, having Yang Yan by her side made Zhou Hanyun feel less afraid.

Especially seeing this guy looking so indifferent, she was curious about how Yang Yan would actually handle things if a ghost really appeared.

Would he teach it a lesson like he did with those guys, using his fists to give a harsh beating?

Or would he transform into a Ghost Hunter Celestial Master to slay demons and expose the mysterious?

"How long do we have to wait? If it doesn't show up, we're not going back? It's been almost three hours."

As time went on, Zhou Hanyun gradually lost patience and couldn't help but ask Yang Yan.

Yang Yan furrowed his brow.

If Zhou Hanyun wasn't here, he had a thousand ways to bring out this thing.

Of course, if he was alone, these things probably wouldn't dare come near him.

"Forget it, I'll go take a look! We can't just keep waiting like this."

Yang Yan said as he prepared to open the door and get out of the car.

"Don't go, I-I-I... I'm scared. Don't leave!"

Zhou Hanyun grabbed Yang Yan's arm, pleadingly.

Yang Yan looked at Zhou Hanyun, patted her shoulder, and reassured her:

"Don't worry, I won't leave your sight. Keep the windows closed and just stay in the car, you'll be fine."

With that, he closed the window on his side, then walked to the front of the car.

As soon as he got out, he felt the chill in the air intensify.

However, he still didn't sense any murderous intent or resentment.

So he gently relaxed his clenched fist.

That meant this thing had no malicious intent.

Perhaps this guy just wanted to play a prank.

Or maybe it wanted help.

In any case, as long as there's no malicious intent, Yang Yan didn't plan to make things difficult for it.

Now, he just purely wanted to see what exactly this thing was.

"Ghosting walls" sounds creepy, but it's actually just a simple trick.

And many people can do this, it's not exclusive to ghosts.

But right now, Yang Yan couldn't quite ascertain what was behind it all.

Because he was in the real world, and with Zhou Hanyun there, many of his methods wouldn't work.

Thus, he could only search step by step.

Fortunately, the chill had a traceable path, and by following the leads, he could naturally find the mastermind behind the prank.

As they got closer to the source of this thing, it got colder. Yang Yan walked ahead, while Zhou Hanyun drove slowly behind him.

As the air grew increasingly cold within the car, Zhou Hanyun turned on the air conditioning.

Yang Yan glanced ahead, then turned back to the car to say to Zhou Hanyun:

"The car can't go through ahead. Do you want to come with me, or stay in the car?"

"I'll go with you!"

Without thinking, Zhou Hanyun responded directly.

No matter what might lie ahead, it was better than staying here alone.

"Then get out and follow me!"

Saying this, Yang Yan got out of the car.

Zhou Hanyun also got out and tried to stick close to Yang Yan, practically pressing against him.

Although East Sea had entered autumn, the early autumn weather was still hot.

Zhou Hanyun was only wearing a relatively thin blazer. Surrounded by this cold air and feeling anxious, she couldn't help but shiver.

Yang Yan turned his head to glance at her, and then put his arm around her.

Zhou Hanyun instinctively struggled for a moment, but ultimately gave up.

She even leaned closer to him, feeling the warmth emanating from his body.

Yang Yan paused for a moment, then broke into a slight smile, guiding Zhou Hanyun forward together.

Ahead was a small enclosed space, its original purpose unknown.

At this moment, the small space inside was covered with a thick layer of ice.

Yang Yan took a look inside, took out his phone to turn on the flashlight, and shone it around.

The surroundings were simple, nothing but steel and concrete walls and pillars, with nothing special.

"That's odd! Logically, this should be the place, how come there's nothing here..."

Yang Yan said, frowning.

Zhou Hanyun didn't understand anything, she just followed Yang Yan's gaze.

Sure enough, it was empty, nothing at all.

But she only took a brief look and quickly returned to Yang Yan's embrace.

Yang Yan touched the frozen wall, then crouched to feel the ground, finally with a meaningful smile emerging on his face.

"Interesting! Not natural, but man-made..."

"What's wrong? Did you find something?"

Zhou Hanyun asked nervously.

To her, everything unknown was frightening.

"Relax! Although I don't know exactly what it is, I can be sure it's not a ghost. So, you don't need to be scared. It's here, you wait outside for me, I'll be done soon."

Yang Yan said smilingly to Zhou Hanyun.

Hearing Yang Yan say it's not a ghost, coupled with his infectious smile, Zhou Hanyun felt much more at ease.

As long as it wasn't a ghost, everything was easier to handle.

"Be careful."

Zhou Hanyun obediently went outside to wait for Yang Yan.

"In the myriad world, no thing is unbreakable by me, no land is untreadable by me. Break!"

As Yang Yan muttered softly, suddenly he shouted.

Crunch!

With a light sound, the surrounding ice began to crack and peel away.

Within a blink, a small hole appeared in the lower right corner.

Dark and deep, a "squeak" sound emanated from inside.

A moment later, the small black hole disappeared, and a small furry creature emerged, black and white.

A puppy?

Or something else?

Yang Yan crouched down to observe the creature closely.

Zhou Hanyun, worried, quickly stepped inside when she saw Yang Yan crouch again.

Seeing the little creature on the ground, Zhou Hanyun was slightly stunned:

"Wow, what is this!"

"Not sure... Is it a fox, or a dog, or maybe a cat?"

Yang Yan muttered as he reached out to grab the creature.

It's a small black-and-white creature, about the size of a Pekingese.

Its head was facing inward, rear facing outward, tail tucked beneath its body.

Without picking it up, it was hard to tell what it truly was.

As Yang Yan reached to touch the creature, he suddenly flinched as if electrocuted, pulling back sharply.

"What's wrong?"

Zhou Hanyun promptly asked.

"Nothing."

Said Yang Yan, as he reached out once more.

But this time, his hand emitted a faint blue hue.

When placed on the creature, a crackling sound filled with sparks was heard, as if he were truly electrocuted.

Zhou Hanyun was utterly stunned.

She quickly covered her mouth, fearing she'd interfere with Yang Yan.

The process seemed thrilling, but ultimately Yang Yan caught the creature easily.

As he lifted it, Yang Yan's hand trembled, and he just froze.
